Tips on Interacting with RP

Something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately- due to being a roleplayer myself (not on this blog, obviously)- is that a lot of regular fandom people probably don’t know how to interact with content they see on a roleplayer’s blog. So, uhm, here’s a couple things that might be helpful.

Most roleplayers have rules.

These rules are often found on a separate page with a link on the blog. Now, for those of you that use mobile, you wouldn’t see this page. Which, fair. However, if you cannot read the rules, you shouldn’t interact with their posts unless you send them an ask or a message to see what they’re ok with.

Most roleplayers do not want their posts (especially in-character) being reblogged by non-roleplayers.

This is because roleplayers want to interact with other roleplayers and prefer to have their notes be easy to navigate so they can find in-character replies. If there are reblogs from non-roleplayers, this messes with the notes and makes it harder for the roleplayer to find replies that they owe. 

Most roleplayers have individual headcanons for their versions of the muses. These headcanons should not be reblogged unless the roleplayer says otherwise. 

A roleplayer’s take on a muse (the character they play) is very personal and most roleplayers do not want those shared around. 

If you’re ever in doubt, send the roleplayer an ask. Most will be happy to clarify their stances and will be more amiable to letting you stick around to read their interactions. As a roleplayer myself, I don’t mind having people like interactions that they want to read. However, I do take issue with reblogs because it makes tracking replies a lot harder. 

These are just some pointers for people who might not understand roleplay on tumblr and how to interact with it. I used to be in that position. Hopefully this is helpful!

Open Starter: Thud

If you listened closely you could hear a strange sound coming from somewhere in the office, a low sound that would repeat over and over with only seconds between them, after following the sound you eventually find yourself outside the breakroom. It’s here you can finally get a clearer picture of what the noise is, it’s a dull thud on the wall repeated over and over, like someone was hitting it once every few seconds. Heading into the break room, you would find the room to be it’s normal beautiful self, however standing facing the way gently slamming his head repeatedly into it, was a man. A tall lanky man dressed like most of the other office workers with a light blue button up and slacks, muttering to himself as he continued to gently beat his head against the wall, judging by how red his forehead looks he’s been at this for a while... “It’s just a bad dream....it’s just a bad dream....it’s just a bad dream....”

Design update

((Going to post an open starter and maybe send a few messages later but for now I wanted to show off a quick redesign I did for 069. I used a picrew to design it and I’ll leave a link to it down below. I didn’t change much aside from changing his hair from bald to shaved and making his skin a bit darker along with a new accessory.

So word on the street (or rather the Crows discord- thanks guys!) is that if you restart the game in the Jump Circle, you can jump all the time in the game. And I love jumping.

From the discussion, seems like you can jump anywhere infinitely but the Expo but I suspect anytime there's a Jump Circle in the map, it might be counting.

There's even a funky little Easter Egg you can find with your newfound jump powers! I've put screenshots and location under the cut in case you want to find it yourself.

It's in the (non-Bucket) Vent ending behind some boxes, a funky lil Dark Souls reference.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your outlook, that note had been the catalyst to recreating the old parable that housed him. So now another ally has joined in the fight to escape, but now he too is trapped in this never ending office space

A note from an old friend lies on Marli's desk. It wishes her well with the new Parable and all the hell it'll bring to the office. He tells her to keep fighting and hopefully she'll be able to get out soon. At the bottom instead of a signature it just reads -Employee 069

She's excited to see that old name again. Is he free, or is he in a parable just like hers?

Regardless, she seals the note in a box for safe keeping. These gifts are her memories, and she cannot afford to lose them.

The Return

His first thought upon waking up is that he already has a headache. The buzz of the lights overhead not helping as Daniel sits up from where he was lying on the floor early, the carpet a bit too rough to lie down comfortably. For some reason it made him fill nervous, he opened his eyes and immediately wished he hadn’t. The office break room with its sparse furniture might have seemed normal to anyone else looking at it but to Daniel it was like waking up in the bowels of hell. “No” He says anger and panic filling his body as he stands “No no no, not here again, fucking no!” He shouts looking around frantically for an escape or a sign this might be a dream as he ran from the room desperate to find an escape from this nightmare, but alas there wasn’t one. Congratulations Employee 069 you have been rehired.
