The Little Mermaid: Scene Five

PRIEST- Dearly beloved …

*birds begin to fly around their heads* *the Priest flaps his arms, shooing them away*

PRIEST- Yes, um, do you Eric, take Vanessa, to be your lawfully wedded wife, for as long as you both shall live?

PRIEST- Eh, and do you … 

*Birds and animals swoop in for attack, causing great chaos*

PRIEST- … then by the power inves-

*In the struggle, the shell holding ARIEL’s voice is broken... it flows back into her. The spell over ERIC is broken as she sings*

ARIEL - Eric.

ARIEL - Oh, Eric, I - I wanted to tell you.

*Sun sets*

*ARIEL transforms back into mermaid*

*URSULA and ARIEL go overboard*

URSULA - I’ve a much bigger fish to -

TRITON - Ursula, stop!

TRITON - Let her go.

URSULA -Not a chance, Triton! She’s mine now. 

ARIEL - Daddy, I’m sorry! I - I - I didn’t mean to. I didn’t know -

TRITON - *attacks the contract with a fierce blast from his trident, to no avail*

URSULA - The contract’s legal, binding and completely unbreakable - 

URSULA - Of course, I always was a girl with an eye for a bargain. The daughter of the great sea king is a very precious commodity. But - 

TRITON - *signs contract*

ARIEL- *is released* 

TRITON- *withers into a wrinkled seaweed prisoner version of himself*

Scuttle: *squawking loudly*

Ariel: *giggles, shaking her head*

Sebastian: Jeez, man…

*singing*

She don’t got a lot to say But there’s something about her And you don’t know why But you’re dying to try You wanna kiss the girl

Sha la la la la la My oh my Look like the boy too shy Ain’t gonna kiss the girl Sha la la la la la Ain’t that sad? Ain’t it a shame? Too bad, he gonna miss the girl

Sebastian: *whispering in his ear* ~Ariel. Her name is Ariel.~

Now’s your moment Floating in a blue lagoon Boy you better do it soon No time will be better She don’t say a word And she won’t say a word Until you kiss the girl Sha la la la la la Don’t be scared You got the mood prepared Go on and kiss the girl

Sha la la la la The music play Do what the music say You got to kiss the girl You’ve got to kiss the girl Go on and kiss the girl

Ursula: Oh, she’s better than I thought. At this rate, he’ll be kissing her by sunset for sure. Well, it’s time Ursula took matters into her own tentacles!

AURORA - Fairy Godmother! (M appears) When were you going to tell me that I’m cursed? (M simply blinks) Is it true?

AURORA - My aunts… said it was an evil fairy. I… I can’t remember her name. They said… it was...

AURORA - Is… is that you? (She doesn’t reply.) Are you Maleficent?

AURORA - No! Don’t touch me. YOU are the “evil that’s in the world.” It’s you.

(Aurora runs away, leaving M to deal with her broken heart)

Peter Pan: Scene Five

Peter played by @space-marauder Wendy played by @positivity-and-possibilities The Mermaids played by @egdramaqueen, @askdoratonks, @rainbow-tonks, @xxdrxco-mxlfoyxx, and @askalittlemagic

MERMAIDS - (The mermaids are all preening and relaxing)

WENDY - Just imagine real live mermaids.

 (Not waiting for her, Peter goes down to the Mermaid Lagoon as Wendy stumbles along behind him.)

MERMAIDS - Hello, Peter!

BRIZO- I’m so glad to see you!

PETER- Want to hear about the time I cut off Hook’s hand? Fed it to the Crocodile?

BRIZO- Me, too!

PETER- Well there I was on Marooner’s Rock, surrounded by 50 pirates-

BRIZO- What’s she doing here?

MERMAIDS - (Each takes a turn trying to pull WENDY in)

PETER - (He laughs as the MERMAIDS splash WENDY with water)

WENDY - If you dare to come near me again-

PETER -  Wendy! Wendy! *reaches out to take the shell* They were just having a little fun, weren’t you, girls?

WENDY - Well, if you think for one minute that I’m going to put up with it for one-

MERMAIDS - (All gasp and swim away, some screaming “HOOK”)

Maleficent/Sleeping Beauty: Scene Four

Prince Phillip played by: @askdoratonks

(Phillip arrives, peaking through trees, he sees Aurora, practicing a speech for her Aunts)

AURORA - Aunties, I’m almost 16, and I need a life of my own. No, I love you very much, but it’s time to say goodbye. You’ve been very good to me, except the time you accidentally fed me spiders.

(Phillip moves in to speak with her. She hears a twig snap and gasps, turning to see him)

(She stares, frightened)

PHILLIP - but I’m on my way to King Stefan’s castle and I’ve become hopelessly lost. (He moves toward her)

(she moves away)

AURORA - (Tripping on a stone) Oh!

PHILLIP - Oh! *moves to help her up*

(He takes her hand and they both grow silent, staring into each other’s eyes) 

(She pulls her hand away in shock, and backs away a little)

(After a moment, she points off.)

AURORA - It’s that way. (Phillip looks at her confused.) The castle. (He follows her direction with his head, not wanting to leave) What’s your name?

AURORA - (Curtsying) Hello, Phillip.

AURORA - Aurora.

(She smiles back)

PHILLIP - . And once again,

AURORA - (Teasing) You’re forgiven.

PHILLIP - That’s good. I’d best be off, then.

AURORA - (Calling after him) Will you be back this way?

AURORA - Then I’ll see you soon.

AURORA - Goodbye, Phillip.

MALEFICENT - Stop doing that. (She transforms him back into a human)

MALEFICENT - (Laughing at his naivety) No, Diaval.

MALEFICENT - True love’s kiss? Have you not worked it out yet? I cursed her that way because there is no such thing.

Maleficent start transforming him back into a bird, he stops her with his Words

MALEFICENT - I thought you liked being a bird.

(He looks at her with more feelings than he can share.)

(He walks away from her, leaving her looking after him, stunned)

Maleficent/Sleeping Beauty: Scene Three

AURORA - Do all the Fairy People have wings?

AURORA - Then why don't you?

(The old anger suddenly rises up in Maleficent.)

All the other fairies fly.

(Aurora is taken aback.)

AURORA - Sorry I asked.

(Maleficent softens.)

AURORA - What happened to them?

(Gif of Stefan [with chain?])

AURORA - What color were they?

(Aurora waits a moment.)

AURORA - Were they big?

(Aurora goes quiet. Maleficent looks off, remembering.)

MALEFICIENT - And they were strong. They could carry me above the clouds and straight into the headwinds. 

MALEFICIENT - I could trust them.

(Aurora can see her loss and regret. She takes her hand. Maleficent looks down at Stefans child handed her own. Her hand freezes. She pulls it away.)

Peter Pan: Scene Four

WENDY - Peter Pan!

WENDY- I knew you’d come back.  I saved your shadow for you!  Oh, I hope it isn’t rumpled.  You know?  You look exactly the way I thought you would. 

 A little taller perhaps, 

PETER - *fiddles with his shadow*

Oh!  You can’t stick it on with soap, Peter.  It needs sewing.  That’s the proper way to do it.  

WENDY - Although, come to think about it, I’ve never thought about it before!  Sewing shadows, I mean.  ‘Course, I knew it was your shadow the moment I saw it.  And I said to myself, I said I’ll put it away for him until he comes back.  Oh, he’s sure to come back.

WENDY -  And you did, didn’t you, Peter?  After all, one can’t leave his shadow lying about and not miss it sooner or later.  Don’t you agree?  

What I don’t understand is how Nana got it in the first place.  She really isn’t- 

Oh, sit down, it won’t really take long.

*Moves away from WENDY and onto the bed as she blabbers*

 She’s a wonderful nurse.  Although, father says-

WENDY - *giggles* Yes, girls talk too-hmm? Oh…

PETER - Well...get on with it, girl.

WENDY - My name is Wendy.  

PETER - Wendy’s enough.

WENDY - But how did Nana get your shadow, Peter?

PETER - Jumped at me.  The other night at the window.

WENDY - Well, what were you doing there?

PETER - I came to listen to the stories.

WENDY - My stories?  But, they’re all about you!

PETER - Of course!  That’s why I like ‘em.  I tell ‘em to the Lost Boys.

WENDY - The lost...oh I remember!  They’re your men.

PETER - Uh-huh

WENDY - I’m glad you came back tonight.  

I might never have seen you.

WENDY - Because I have to grow up tomorrow.

WENDY - Tonight is my last night in the nursery.

PETER - But that means...no more stories.

Maleficent/Sleeping Beauty: Scene Two

(Maleficent’s shadow looms over her suddenly. It's distinct and clear in the moonlight. Aurora smiles to see it.)

AURORA - I know you're there.

(The shadow retreats suddenly. She turns around.)

AURORA - Don't be afraid.

(Maleficent’s amused voice answers from behind the rocks.)

AURORA - Then come out.

AURORA - No, I won't. Come out.

(Maleficent emerges. Aurora smiles, not the least surprised by her appearance.)

AURORA - I know who you are.

AURORA - You’re my fairy godmother.

(Maleficent tries not to laugh.)

AURORA - Fairy Godmother. You've been watching over me my whole life.

AURORA - I've always known you were close by... ever since I was a little girl.

AURORA - Your shadow. It’s been following me ever since I was small. Wherever I went, your shadow was always with me.

AURORA - I remember you. Pretty bird. (She giggles)

AURORA - It’s everything I imagined it would be!

AURORA - I'm not afraid.

AURORA - But…

(Maleficent waves her hand in front of her eyes.)

*With a blast of the wind, the door of the castle swings open* *Lightning and thunder crash* *Maleficent appears*

Maleficent: *notices the fairies*

Queen Leah: And you're not offended?

Maleficent: *an evil smile* Why, no.

Maleficent: *approaches the bassinet* *Looking on the baby, jealousy fills her heart* *The old anger and revenge rise up in her again* *looks at Stefan as if it is only the two of them in the room*

LEAH - That’s a lovely gift.

STEFAN- Maleficient. 

Maleficent: This curse will last till the end of time!

HOOK -  Now my dear princess, this is the proposition.  You give me the hiding place of Peter Pan, and I shall set you free.

WENDY - Poor Tiger Lily.

HOOK - Am I not a man of me word?  You better talk, my dear.  Or the tide will be in and it will be too late.

PETER - I’ll show the codfish! Stay here Wendy. Watch the fun!

HOOK - Remember, there is no path through water to the Happy Hunting Ground.

HOOK - THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE, TIGER LILY!

PETER - *in a deep voice that echoes around the caves* Manatoa, great spirit of mighty seawater, speak! Beware Hook! Beware!

HOOK - Did you hear that?  Stand by while I look around.  “Great Spirit of the sea”, is it?

*A ticking sound is heard*

HOOK - panics

HOOK - I’ll get you for this Pan!  If it’s the last thing I do!

*A ticking sound is heard again and louder*

WENDY - Peter, no!

WENDY - But Peter, what about Tiger Lily?

TIGER LILY - (treading water) Help!

DARLINGS - Any happy little thought?

PETER - Uh-huh

PETER - *flies around the room* It's easier than pie!

WENDY - He can fly! (Excited)

WENDY - I'll think of a mermaid lagoon

Oh underneath a magic moon 

WENDY - One…

DARLINGS - We can fly! We can fly! We can fly! (The DARLINGS try to fly, but fall back to the ground)

HOOK - Yes, Miss Bell, Captain Hook admits defeat. Tomorrow, I leave the island, never to return. And that's why I asked you over, me dear, to tell Peter I bear him no ill will. 

HOOK - Oh, Pan has his faults, to be sure. 

HOOK - Bringing that Wendy to the island, for instance. Dangerous business, that. Why, rumor has it that already she has come between you and Peter.

HOOK -  But what's this? Tears? Then it is true. Oh, Smee, the way of a man with a maid: taking the best years of her life and then casting her aside!

TINK - *Sniffles*

SMEE - Ain't it a bloomin' shame?

HOOK - But we musn't judge Peter too harshly, my dear. It's that Wendy who's to blame.

HOOK - *turns to Smee and winks*

HOOK -  Mr. Smee, we must save the lad from himself. But how? We've so little time; we sail in the morning. Sail? That's it, Smee!

HOOK -  We'll shanghai Wendy!  Take her to sea with us. With her gone, Peter will soon forget this mad infatuation.

SMEE - But Captain, we don't know where Peter Pan lives.

HOOK -  Great Scott, you're right, Smee!

TINK - *Points to herself, then to a map of Neverland, eagerly*

HOOK - What's that, my dear? You could show us the way? Why, I never thought of that.

HOOK -  Start at Pegleg Point...

TINK - *Walks across the map to the other side carefully*

HOOK -  Forty paces west to Blindman's Bluff...

TINK - *Hops across a part of the map*

HOOK - Yes, yes. A hop, skip and a jump across Crocodile Creek and then nor' by nor'east, one, two, three... *loses patience*

HOOK - Well, get on with-- Continue, my dear.

TINK - *Suddenly gets angry and she flies up in Hook's face, wagging her finger at him*

HOOK - I mustn't harm Peter? Madam, Captain Hook gives his word not to lay a finger...

TINK - *Hooks her finger, glaring*

HOOK -  ... or a hook... on Peter Pan.

HOOK - Ah, Hangman's Tree! So *that's* the entrance to his hiding place! *grabs Tinker Bell and locks her in a lantern*

HOOK - Thank you, me dear, you've been most helpful.

GOTHEL: *stands up* Now, wash up for dinner!

RAPUNZEL: *sits with her head low*

GOTHEL:  I really did try, Rapunzel.

GOTHEL: The world is dark and selfish and cruel. If it finds even the slightest ray of sunshine, 

GOTHEL: *leaves*

Rapunzel: Augh! *knocks over a dresser as she realizes.... she is the lost princess*

GOTHEL: Rapunzel? *climbs stairs* Rapunzel, what’s going on up there? 

GOTHEL: Why would you ask such a ridiculous question?

RAPUNZEL: *pushes Gothel away from her* Ugh!

GOTHEL: Rapunzel!

GOTHEL: Rapunzel!

GOTHEL: Where will you go? — He won’t be there for you.

RAPUNZEL: What did you do to him?

RAPUNZEL: *gasps* No.

GOTHEL: Now, Now. It’s all right. Listen to me. 

*Rapunzel pushes Gothel away into the mirror* *it shatters*
