their love interests did NOT need to be there for the entire time or for as long. specifically in hope’s case, landon not leaving her alone during the klaus scene and during the ashes scene reduced the emotional impact of both scenes. his presence almost just felt intrusive and unnecessary considering they already got closure as a couple a few episodes before and considering that landon was literally emotionless.
so why didn’t lizzie get a solo scene with her mom and why didn’t hope get a solo with her dad :| the writers really said we’re gonna rob you one last time!

can't tell if you're complaining to complain or serious about why it took them longer to defeat malivore than gods. i mean it's obvious. they had this season and were told maybe this was a finale. would you have rather they lost for "realism" sake in a show about magic/god/supernatural beings?
you have a point anon :) but i was more complaining about the fact that it took so long to defeat malivore hehe and making a joke out of it. i think the show should have killed him off in season 2 and explored something new instead of waiting until season 4, especially since the monster of the week format was getting kind of old. but rest assured, i am joking :)

like this is practically unheard of for female main characters in teenage shows. you’re telling me that HOPE MIKAELSON never explored her sexuality with anyone else, that the love of her life was a teenage boy? the show deserved to get cancelled
the fact that legacies forced hope to be with the same boy for 4 seasons seems homophobic

the fact that klaus and caroline might be coming back for the shitshow legacies series finale and not many fans even care 😭 not that i can blame them, the writers ruined the mikaelson reunion episode and so many other characters, plots, and storylines.

Legacies: Criminal Minds Parallel
I watching re-watching Criminal Minds and I noticed that, in 4x18, Hotch says, “I’m the guy who hunts guys like you,” to which the Reaper replies, “There are no guys like me.”
I was wondering why this was so familiar and then I remembered that, in 4x04 of Legacies, Malivore says, “I eat monsters like you.” Hope then replies, “There is no monster like me.”
It left me wondering whether or not the Legacies writers took inspiration from Criminal Minds as I know some of them watch the show, and they’ve down it before with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

How can you admit that Hope and Landon have an “unhealthy” relationship and say that Landon is the “only person fit for Hope” in one breath?
why does hope keep having to learn the same lesson over and over again? why does she keep having to save landon over and over again? why can’t hope have a storyline that doesn’t revolve around landon?
her lesson in season 2: she can’t choose landon
her lesson in season 3: she has to let landon go
her lesson in season 4… she has to let landon go?

Or…it’s just shitty writing LOL. Klaus’ storyline revolved around his family, and he kept them in coffins so that they could never leave him. As you said, he loved his family for a millennia.
Again, as you said, it takes Hope maybe 2 years. So, Hope became obsessed with Landon after about a year of knowing him—without the show ever showing their “epic love,” only telling us—sacrificing everyone and everything to save him. This would make sense if Hope was protecting her family at the Salvatore Boarding School (people she have known all her life), but it doesn’t translate well at all when you factor in that Hope and Landon have known each other for two years, part of which Landon dated someone else, part of which he was stuck in Malivore, and part of which he was stuck in Limbo. I can get an unhealthy dependency, but this dependency makes no sense when Legacies hasn’t shown their relationship develop at all past Season 1.
I understand the allure of Landon to Hope, especially in season 1. Because of his pheonix powers, he can never leave her and die on her, but then he still manages to leave her and walk away from her constantly throughout Season 2.
If anything, Hope should’ve learned this lesson of letting Landon go the first or second time. It’s unfair to her character to keep dragging this on and to have her one storyline revolve completely around Landon, time and time again. It’s been 4 seasons and Hope is the only character who hasn’t developed—even Landon’s character developed independently of their relationship while he was in Limbo, whereas Hope is the same person she’s been since Season 2. I would even say that Hope is the only character who’s devolved, going from saving everyone to only saving Landon at the cost of everyone else.
why does hope keep having to learn the same lesson over and over again? why does she keep having to save landon over and over again? why can’t hope have a storyline that doesn’t revolve around landon?
her lesson in season 2: she can’t choose landon
her lesson in season 3: she has to let landon go
her lesson in season 4… she has to let landon go?

the fact that hope didn’t even learn her “lesson” on her own? landon had to teach it to her? wtf?
why does the necromancer have more character development than hope

so yup i was right! legacies recycled the same old handon plot again! watching hope put landon above everything and anything was almost unbearable. the fact that he had to talk her into leaving? extremely poor writing and i fear this isn’t the end of it or them
watch the legacies 4x17 episode be a repeat of 3x01 where hope won’t wake up because of landon and she doesn’t want to leave him so she offers to stay with him in limbo, completely forgetting the sacrifice her parents made for her all over again like season 3. my worst nightmare 😭

hope mikaelson’s one personality trait was her hero complex and now she doesn’t even have that? she has to be talked into saving her friends? once again, her character revolves completely around landon. no development, no personality, no dimension, nothing.
