Living in Harmony with Nature. Our little Swallow Tailed friend found it’s way into our outdoor greenhouse. As beautiful as this looks always check your outdoor cannabis plants for caterpillars. Look for eggs and get rid of them before hatching. The caterpillar loves nothing more than a big juicy bud to fill their belly with- I personally don’t blame them. This big guy was just tired from the heat and wanted somewhere to rest his weary wings.
Hemp grows quickly without the necessity for herbicides or pesticides of which many crops around the world need to survive.
Growing the plant is very simple, seed, water, and wait. Once harvested the leaves are removed so the stalk can be processed. The exterior of the stalk contains fibre, the most useful part.
Hemp is a significant plant for crop rotation for a multitude of reasons. Hemp reconditions the land as it grows. It adds nutrients such as nitrates and potassium to the soil. Being an annual crop, hemp's roots reach deep down into the soil-6ft or more. This both helps to hold the soil together, reducing erosion, and to loosen the soil, creating air in the soil. When other plants more delicate than hemp are planted after, the soil is no longer compact and has cleaned anything unnatural from the soil.
Cannabis sativa is found mainly in hot, dry climates with long sunny days. These include Africa, Central America, Southeast Asia, and portions of Western Asia. Sativa plants are the opposite of Indica strains and grow tall and thin with finger-like leaves. Sativa plants are also generally a lighter shade of green than an Indica strain. Sativa strains take longer to grow, mature, and require more light. Sativa plants normally have lower CBD and increased THC content.

Here at The Emerald Flower Farm we are always researching our strains. We want to know where the best environment is for each strain-indoor-outdoor-greenhouse. Consistent testing helps us to see where our genetics are at because every strain has different characteristics and grows different with every farmer's care. Each strain is unique and requires different attention. A common myth is that outdoor is less potent than indoor. If grown properly we can acquire the same or better results than indoor. Getting a consistent testing strain for both indoor and outdoor is the goal.
CBC is deemed one of the “big six” cannabinoids prominent in medical research. It doesn’t get as much awareness, but CBC’s benefits are incredibly promising. CBC, like THC and CBD, has been shown to enable the human brain to grow by improving the viability of creating brain cells in a process known as neurogenesis. CBC also plays a crucial role in the anti-cancer and anti-tumour abilities of cannabis.
Your body naturally generates cannabinoids that are involved with numerous bodily functions, such as appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and sleep. All cannabinoids generate effects in the body by interacting with cannabinoid receptors, which construct part of the endocannabinoid system.
Researchers note that CBD reduces some symptoms related with substance abuse. These included anxiety, mood-related symptoms, pain, and insomnia.
Research continues to support CBD’s use in managing withdrawal symptoms.
Labelling of CBD products:
* Full Spectrum contains the full spectrum of CBD, minor cannabinoids, cannabis-derived terpenes, and trace amounts of THC found in the plant.
* Broad Spectrum contains a full spectrum of extracted cannabinoids and terpenes, but with trace amounts of THC removed.
* Isolate is pure CBD with all other cannabis compounds removed until only a powdered or crystalline form of CBD remains.
As the cannabis plant grows, enzymes which are unique to each cannabis strain convert the CBGA into some mixture of the three main cannabinoid precursor compounds: tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA). One of the most significant features of THCA is its obvious proficiency to work at very low doses. When smoking cannabis, it is estimated that more than 95% of the THCA is converted to THC
