The inspo for the composition is a Polaroid of the girls after they’ve moved in to their apartment before starting college, and a photobomb from The Universe. Something from before the story starts

Oops I haven’t posted in a while... .⁣

I’ve long moved onto the inking portion of The first chapter of Us and The Universe! ⁣

TLDR: If you hate it redo it. It’s all suffering anyways. I am annoyed. References rock. ⁣

It’s taking me forever. And I don’t even have a plan for colouring yet..⁣

⁣

I know I’m a perfectionist. Which is more infuriating somehow, being aware. I often also set the level of “perfection” above my actual skill level. And I know “perfect doesn’t exist”. But I keep beating myself up for... idk “being total shit at this” but also beating myself up for “giving too many shits about this. ⁣

Is there a fine line between perfection and speed? Or is art and being human really just suffering lol.⁣

Anyways, I drew a couch. It fucking sucked. I hated it. I ignored it. But I went back to it after some time, I looked up references and I just love the redo. Perfectionism is a curse but also a blessing when I end up with something... worth all the trouble? ⁣

This is the level of “perfect” I am ok with, sadly it takes days off my lifespan. Also references are key for improving man, use them, wipe your tears with them 👌🏻

I ended up redoing the two in the middle completely twice and the emotion in side view. I think I like this one. She’s actually harder to draw and keep consistent than I intended oops⁣

So... I did end up redoing the girls character sheet art things lol. I feel like my style is more consistent in this version ⁣and well I like it more in general 😬. I had a lot of fun figuring out the angle and emotion in the middle bust

Speaking of the girls, I think I’m going to redo their character sheets. I feel like my style and confidence on Procreate and with these characters has improved a bit... and with that I may do a Universe sheet finally as well
