THE FOXHOLE COURT
1K posts
The Palmetto State Foxes have been called many things: a halfway house, a team of talented rejects, a fucking joke. But despite defeat and despite those who have doubted them, the Foxes remain absolutely committed to giving troubled athletes a shot at redemption, a home, and a chance to prove themselves on the court. {MOBILE NAVIGATION}

FIGHT BECAUSE YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO DIE QUIETLY.
“Did you think I made the team the way it is because I thought it would be a good publicity stunt? It’s about second chances. Second, third, fourth, whatever, as long as you get at least one more than what anyone else wanted to give you.”
The Palmetto State Foxes have been called many things: a halfway house, a team of talented rejects, a fucking joke. But despite defeat and despite those who have doubted them, the Foxes have never wavered: they remain absolutely committed to giving troubled athletes a shot at redemption, a home, and a chance to prove themselves on the court.
Will this be the season that the Foxes finally show, once and for all, what they’re made of? Or will they only crash and burn?
WIN BECAUSE YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO LOSE.
The Foxhole Court is an upcoming, revamped roleplay based on the All For the Game series by Nora Sakavic. Set years after the events of the series, the roleplay focuses on the players and cheerleaders of the Palmetto State Foxes Exy team, and includes both canon and original characters.

Hey Foxes, it’s with a very heavy heart that I’m posting this, and I’m sorry if it comes as a surprise, but it is a decision that I’ve been considering for some time now:
With little to no new interest in the roleplay, a slowing dash, and what I feel has been lackluster response to games and events, I feel like I’ve been spending more time fighting to keep the roleplay open and members engaged than I have enjoying the roleplay, which is not how I want things to be. For those reasons, I have to admit that my heart isn’t in it anymore, and it’s time for the doors to close on the Foxhole Court.
While I’m sad for all the plans I never got to see come to fruition, and for all the characters I never got to see find loving homes, I’m beyond grateful for the time I got to spend with all of you. The Foxhole Court was open for a year and four months, which in the scheme of things is an amazingly long time, and I will always be proud of us for making it this far.
And while we won’t take it all the way to the Spring Championships, or to a Fox victory, I still believe that the members that I’ve had the pleasure of writing with here, both past and present, have been some of the most talented and kindest I’ve ever been able to roleplay with. Though I’m disappointed that this is where things are ending, that is something that will always be true.
For those of you who are playing canon characters, I ask that you not take them elsewhere, whether it’s to other roleplays or to 1x1s. And, if you want to stay in touch with me, you can always find me on my personal blog.
One last time,
Admin X.

The Foxes may have lost, but it’s the weekend before Halloween, and Vixen Captain Vivian Brooks isn’t going to let that ruin her plans—as she knows better than most, the show must go on.
And besides, she might be doing the Foxes a favor: providing a distraction, letting them blow off steam and get their heads on straight ahead of their next game. When it’s against the Jackals, who went further in last years Championships than the Foxes could manage, they’ll definitely need it.
But that’s for the Foxes to worry about on Monday, when practices resume after their narrow loss to the Jackrabbits. Sunday night has been claimed by Vivian and the Vixens, for a Halloween party for the ages—when Vivian is involved, it’s not going to be anything less than the absolute best.
The Vixens have all been roped into decorating the den, carved pumpkins and cobwebs and whatever else that’s spooky they could pull together, doing everything they can to make the night one that will go down in Palmetto State infamy.
All the Foxes have to do is show up—costumes strongly encouraged, but the Vixens will take whatever, as long as it gets the typically reluctantly Foxes through the door, relying on their friends among the team to encourage their teammates to come, even if they can’t make them leave their bad attitudes at the door.
ADMIN NOTE: This event will continue throughout the next week, meaning that starters related to the event can be posted between now and Monday, November 6. After Monday, threads from the event can be continued, but new starters related to the event shoulder not be posted. As always, players are allowed and encouraged to continue threads from before this event.
If you want to post your character’s Halloween costume, you can use the foxholeeedit tag to do so! If you have any questions, please let me know. Happy Halloween, and happy roleplaying!

Hey Foxes! Hope you’re all having a good Halloweekend—I’m preparing our in-game Halloween event to post tonight, so keep an eye out! That and the fallout from the game against the Jackrabbits should make for ample plotting opportunities and an exciting dash, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
As I previously mentioned I might, I’ve made some slight adjustments to our schedule over at the Games Blog. The next game, which will be against the Breckenridge Jackals, will now take place on November 17. I don’t anticipate making any further changes, so the games schedule should be accurate through the end of the regular season.
I will be accepting at the usual time this week, which is which will be on Wednesday at 9PM EST.  I would love to see some more of our open canon roles taken, and some of the canon characters I’d like to see the most right now are Olivia Finch, Eliana Felix, and Bianca Shay. (Or, if you’ve been binging Stranger Things, maybe take a look at River Tate!) And I also have two available slots for Fox original characters.
Also a reminder that I will be conducting our regular activity check tomorrow evening, so now is a good time to make sure your activity is within required limits—and, if you’re regularly ending up on the activity check, to make an effort to increase your overall activity and maintain consistency. I, and the roleplay, will thank you.

“WE’RE FOXES. SOMETHING IS ALWAYS GOING WRONG.”
“The Palmetto State University Foxes were a team of talented rejects and junkies because Wymack only recruited athletes from broken homes. His decision to turn the Foxhole Court into a halfway house of sorts was nice in theory, but it meant his players were fractured isolationists who couldn’t get along enough to get through a game.”

CONGRATULATIONS, ROWAN, YOU’VE BEEN ACCEPTED AS MEREDITH COTES!
What I loved most about your application, Rowan, is how carefully you considered the legacy of Meredith’s parents, and what that means to Meredith. I see Meredith is someone who is very strong but also a little lost, and the way you described her wanting to push herself in their absence really resonated with that. I can tell that you’ve considered Meredith in both the past, present, and the future—and I can’t wait to see her on the squad!
Welcome to The Foxhole Court!  Please review the post-acceptance checklist and send in your blog within twenty-four hours.

Hey Foxes! Hope everyone’s been having a good weekend—and a reminder that this week is a game week! The introductory post for the game against the Jackrabbits will be posted tomorrow on the Games Blog, and the outcome of the game will be posted on Friday.
I will be accepting at the usual time this week, which is which will be on Wednesdayat 9PM EST. We currently have many open canon roles, so there are a lot of great characters to choose from! I’m excited to already have one application in my inbox, and would love to see a few more join it. Our most wanted canon characters right now are Olivia Finch, Eliana Felix, and Justin Acevedo, and I also have two available slots for Fox original characters.
Also a reminder that I will be conducting our regular activity check tomorrow evening. So if you’re not on hiatus, or recently off hiatus, now is a good time to make sure your activity is within required limits—and also a good time for all members to increase their overall activity, especially ahead of Friday’s game.

SO SHUT UP AND CARRY ON, THE SCREAM BECOMES A YAWN.
“Did you think I made the team the way it is because I thought it would be a good publicity stunt? It’s about second chances. Second, third, fourth, whatever, as long as you get at least one more than what anyone else wanted to give you.”
Nobody expected Emery—scowling, cigarette-smoking, rebellious Emery—to become a cheerleader. Then again, maybe that’s why they did it. Emery didn’t mind—in fact, they liked the attention, every pep rally and football game a stubborn rebuke and reminder to anyone that might dare to think otherwise: you can’t put me in a box. And, even when they had nothing else, they still had cheer. If they couldn’t be happy, they figured, at least they could paste a smile on, do a flip, and pretend.
