Yesterday evening these guys nursed and nursed and nursed, so at about 10:30 as Nikki was getting ready to sleep she said maybe these guys will sleep a good chunk of the night so she could also sleep. Elias is settling into his big brother role quite nicely. Other than love and security, is there anything greater that we can give a child than a sibling? Do babies have a secret power to detect when their parents are wide awake and when they really want to sleep? I noticed that at the times I feel like I'm awake and have some good energy (even though I know I need sleep) they seem content to sleep, but then last night every time I finally drifted off to sleep one of them would sound a little alarm to claim he needed something (even if he didn't). Yes...family selfies are even more fun when you add two more!! Also a little challenging to get everyone in haha. I'm not sure which one is obscured by Eden's elbow. So far they have been called a lot of "him" and "that one" and even "it". Nikki and I will clearly establish that I am holding Everett and she is holding Emerson and not one minute later we both forget who is holding which. It they didn't have bracelets there's no way we would remember which one came out first lol. This is fun. I kind of worried if with more children it might thin out the love, but apparently it doesn't work that way because I feel like I love everyone even more. Woohoo!! Presenting Everett Alexander. 6lbs 7oz. 19.25 inches. And very skwooshy. His temperature was a little low so it was skin on skin time. As a father I recommend doing this any chance you get with your newborn. It feels really good to feel your newborn's body on your bare chest. We got some sleep last night and this morning. Nikki has been in pain but doing well and getting as much sleep as possible. My main goal has been to do all I can to see that she gets sleep.
