thinking about kaz brekker again. like oh let's rip this 9 year old child from rural farm life after his father dies in a tragic accident and send him and his barely teenage brother alone to a bustling city. kill his brother, stripping him of the last connection he has to literally any of his previous life, and make him survive with zero outside support by sheer force of desperation. raise him in a gang where he routinely sees people's loved ones used against them as leverage. and of course give him a phobia of touch. literally concoct this boy in a lab to resist all forms of human connection. and then, make him fall in love with a girl—despite his best efforts—to the point that she starts to wear down his walls. but as soon as he makes a big breakthrough with her, kidnap and endanger her with it being expressly his fault for showing visible feelings for her. when this sets off a chain of events that eventually leads to her freedom from indenture, have her leave the country as soon as possible. what about this does not set him up to regress majorly after inej sets sail. we may think early-duology kaz is a piece of work but i fully believe that is not him at his worst. give me six months post-kos kaz. that man is a wreck and a menace

I’m seeing so many ppl openly hate on steve rogers endgame ending which is genuinely bringing me out of hibernation but I’m afraid if u r a new fan u will never understand the trenches we (steve loyalists) went thru in 2019. like we’re talking I was put on steve roger anti lists and called a misogynist 20 times over just for saying steve retiring in the 50s was out of character

do you ever think about zemo's plan to break the avengers and what exactly it says about steve rogers?

he clocked steve rogers so hard (and tony too but this isn't about him).

he wanted the avengers to destroy each other from the inside out so he found the exact pressure point to press and that pressure point was that steve rogers isn't entirely reasonable when it comes to bucky barnes.

(this isn't about the accords exactly. they were just a means to an end for zemo).

and i actually think it lends credence to what many of us already suspect about the end of the first avenger. steve was at minimum passively suicidal when he went down with the valkyrie and that his actions were directly connected to the loss of bucky.

and that this connection is able to be drawn as a matter of historical record in the mcu if you're looking for it.

even if one couldn't draw that connection from steve's actions during the first avenger the hydra files that natasha dropped might've lent some clarity.

(what would i give to know the academic fighting over steve and bucky's relationship in the mcu.)

also, maybe controversially, at the end of civil war steve admits in his letter to tony that not telling him the truth of howard and maria's deaths was sparing himself but was it? or was it another attempt to shield bucky? because in protecting himself from that hard discussion it also protected bucky. but the point is that again and again and again we are shown that steve's emotional core is defined through his relationship with bucky.

Thinking about the ambulance bay scene when Robby tells Langdon that he let this place "break" him but that's not actually what happened. Langdon was addicted to painkillers because of a genuine medical issue. He stole the pills to deal with withdrawal, not to block out what was happening in the ED, and we're even shown multiple times that Langdon is able to move between patients quickly, not linger in a patient room, not let it bother him longer than it needs because he has a family waiting for him back home, but that's what Robby values in Langdon.

He's everything as a doctor that Robby is not. That's why Robby says that Langdon is his "best resident" because he's the one who's least like him.

So when they're arguing, Robby immediately starts to project his own insecurities in anger at Langdon, including giving him one of the things he hates most about himself, that he's too affected by the ED, because that means Langdon is becoming more like Robby and thus has failed him.
