Battlefield 1 bayonet chargers and how to deal with them.
**How to deal with Chargers**
First off let me just say, *EA Dice* have made it very hard to do much about Chargers. And also from my experience, they’ve done little, to nothing, to try to make Chargers less dangerous. So with that said, I have come up with a few ways to actually nerf, lessen, their attack at worst, and kill them without injury at best. This is assuming, you have practiced the methods I’m about to tell you, as well as testing them out.
**Lets get started.**
Most people in Battlefield 1, will, at one point or another figure out that listening to your surroundings is vital to success. This is a key factor in a lot of games, and as you know if your camping out, and don’t hear the guy come through the door behind you, you’re dead. So make sure to keep an ear out for louder enemy footsteps.
Last thing before I tell you my tactics on how to deal with chargers. Ammo. Your ammo is very important. And you don’t want to be the guy who is running around with your Bartek bludgeon, all because, your last bullet, your last grenade, and your last pack of dynamite, were all used to try and kill, that guy, who was just so annoyingly impossible to kill. So the point is, try and conserve your ammo where you can. If it’s possible try to spare an enemy life, but only if it means not dying or getting two kills instead of one.
**Now for what you’ve all been waiting for.!!!**
Method 1 Return fire.
This method is so simple sounding, but trust me, it’s a lot harder than you think. This is especially challenging if you are of rank 20, or higher, because by this time you may, have already developed habits that make it tougher for you to do as I am about to tell you. This tactic will sound crazy, and might even scare you at first, so be ready to face your enemy like a boss. Alright so this method is used like the title says. Returning fire. Now think for a moment, “ return fire ”, bayonet charge,. There you go. With this method you are going to be charging back at them, and you have to master timing, because if you are too late, you are going to get turned in to a shish kebab. So timing is critical. Now another thing that is important, is to know if you should use the charge as a counter attack. Why? Because some times his aim may have been off, and in Battlefield 1 if your aim is off when bayonet charging, then your most likely going to miss. And that is because turning, when in the middle of charging, is made nearly impossible.
So that is why if you see he’s going to miss don’t charge back, only to miss and lose all your energy, because by the time you’ve finished your charging action your opponent has turned around and shot you already. So don’t do this, it’s an express ticket to die. Now this next helper to counter charging is similar to the last one. Aim. In the split second of time you have to charge back at your opponent make sure you aim your cross hairs on his body, or as close to it as you can get. Aiming is vital to having more success. Because like I explained before if you miss. You’re going to be the one to fall flat on your face, without a heart beat, looking ridiculous. So that is method one. Let’s move on.
Method 2 go straight for the kill.
This method can be easy, or can be tough. This depends almost completely on your play style. If you’re the aggressive play style type, then this might be easier for you. If you’re the strategic play style, than maybe method 1 might work better when the situation arises. But we are talking about this method, “ go straight for the kill.” In this method you must have great aim, and most everyone knows aiming is another vital key to success. And trust me I know because when I play bf1 I usually I am the worst aimer in the party, and quite often the worst aimer in the Battlefield. So when I’m playing bf1 I mostly PTFO. For those of you who do not know what that means, it means “Play The F***ing Objective”. This is usually the way all those guys on battlefield place first, by playing the objective. One time I placed 2nd with 5 kills and 13 deaths. I know, terrible, right. Well ok enough blabber chatter. Let’s cut to the chase. This method is easier to get used to then the last. What you do, is when your opponent charges at you, whether you hear it, or see it. You move out of his way trying your best to keep your cross hairs on him and you open fire, not the instant you got your cross hairs over him, but about one second before he stops moving. This is so that you still conserve ammo, while still getting the killing blow. But make sure to keep an eye on your ammo counter so that when it comes to the moment to deal with the charger. You can analyse how much ammo you have, and then you will be able to tell how soon, or late, to shoot. This is again so you have enough ammo to deal with his friend who isn’t so far away, or at least have enough time to reload.
So today’s lessons
A. Keep an ear out for louder enemy footsteps.
B. Ammo is very important. Make sure you ration your ammo out.
D. When counter charging, aim properly or die trying. Literally if you spend to much time aiming you’re dead. So aim fast and properly.
C. Aim as best you can. Aiming is a very important aspect to the game. So try to focus a bit more on being a good marksman. I don’t mean a sniper, I mean the guy who can hit you with every bullet he has, even when your jumping like a jumping shrimp, going side to side, and into cover and out of cover. So focus on better aiming.
Feel free to share your experiences. And let me know what you want to see. For now we are on the subject of bf1.
