We will be moving host for the new year.

While this happens please expect the server to be down at times. We will tell you when the current server is down. We hope to open the new server mid to late January. So keep your eyes peeled. We'll post the new ip here when we are finished.  We would like to remove the whitelist but make some big changes so as to avoid greifers. More to come in the new year, we are downloading the world files. Changes for 1.8!

The server is going through some big changes with the 1.8 update.

To start with, the server is currently running Vanilla Minecraft 1.8 on a brand new map! We know some of you may have been attached to the old map, we were too, but we felt it was time for a fresh start. The seed for this new map was carefully selected to have a good selection of biomes for you to explore close to spawn. I have included a map at the bottom of this post to show some of the biomes you can find near spawn.

We will be running Vanilla Minecraft until updated Bukkit plugins become available, and until that time the server will be whitelisted. If you played on the server before then please ask us if you wish to be added to the whitelist, so that you can play before we get plugins again!

Another big change is that we will no longer be using Towny. Instead we will be giving players more locks with the LWC plugin, so that individuals have more control of their land. Players' houses will be closely monitored and any players found to be breaking into others' houses to get around locked doors will be punished.

We will also be holding a vote to decide whether we will keep MCMMO or not, this is because we have not heard many players' opinions on this plugin and would like to know how many people like it. Details on the voting process will be posted soon.

Update: Falling Towns and Manchester Comic Con

We regret to say while we were gone on hiatus, the town "Waffles Inc" has fallen due to upkeep not being paid in game, (sorry Mr.Waffles D: ). And so has the Headless Nation, but all towns in the headless nation will not have been effected too badly by this. We are currently working on new things in this time offline but this will not be seen until we are finished. MCM MANCHESTER  Me (Yumi) and Raffix will be at MCM Manchester (Manchester Comic Con). We're looking forward to seeing you guys, this will have been our 3rd year attending. We have yet to decide whether we will be there on either the first day, second day or both (I will most likely be there for both days as it is in my home city). You might see one or two creepers wandering around, we will be handing out our new simplified adress for the server on the day too.  InsideTheMines will also be there on both days. I believe he will be there on the first day dressed as Cosmo but we do not know his plans for the second day.

Stuart Otterson promoted to trainee Admin! 06.05.14

Stuart Otterson has been promoted to Admin while Yumi and Raffix finish another year at uni.  Congratulations to Stuart!  I know you'll do fine and if if doubt we're always on the other end of the line. Yumi will be using an App called (Gym) Pact to earn money for the running costs of the server. Considering he already goes to the gym 5 days a week this should not be a tough task for him to do, not to mention he's got a wedding to go to in august which he wants to look good for~! So at the end of each week / month (still undecided) there will be a tally of how much has been earned for the server running costs, what is earned may no be a large amount but every little helps! Sadly Raffix can't take part because his phone can't run pact (booo! D: ) but he'll be there cheering Yumi on.

Busy, busy! 05.05.14

Yumi and Raffix are getting quite busy now as it is almost the end of another academic year. Raffix will be busy for the next week or so with his last assignments and Yumi will be busy until the end of May with his PDP and exams. Semaj will also be busy around this time too with exams as well, he has stepped down as mod to play as a normal citizen. Stuart_Otterson has taken his place as mod for a while. so please congratulate stuart when you can! They will drop in when they can otherwise the will be busy tying up loose ends. Server Outage 03.05.14

Server was down for a few hours today due to the host having a little fiddle behind the scenes with the control panels but now we're back.

Update 25.04.14

Games: Well on the 23rd April a new game was born! The name of the game is "Sticky Horse", named by one of our builders / one of the creators of the game. (Only god knows why he called it sticky horse, but there you go. ) Raffix made his pitch to build the game on InsideTheMines land which has a lot of games and a couple of stadiums built on it, so he thought it would be the perfect place to build it. A contract was drawn up by InsideTheMines and Raffix agreed. And the sticky horse stadium was built in the image of a giant horse being hooked by a giant fishing rod. The aim of the game is to hook a horse and get it to go through your hoop, when the stand lights up and you hear a click, you have earned a point. This game is best with 4 payers but can be played between two people.(More on this later in another post.) Donations: Donation paypal account should be up and running, we've listed the account as non-profit and have our invoices ready, invoices are available on request for your own reference. Jobs and Embassies within Dinkleberg / The Headless Nation:  Yumi is looking to hire some people to help farm, build, set up shops and generally improve Dinkleberg as a whole. He is willing to pay people for their efforts. Looking for: Cafe Manager (you are provided with materials for free, but are also asked to find some too.) Farmers (Will pay more for people with a higher herbalism skill level as it usually increases the yield and efficiency.) Miners (Will pay more for people with a higher mining and excavation skills as it usually increases the yield of items.) Who can apply?: Anyone. You can be from another town or even no town to apply for this job. Payment: Cafe Manager: The café manager gets 95% payment for what they produce to sell and the other 5% goes to the town and nation deposits. Farmers: Negotiable. Miners: Negotiable. Other info: Bonuses are available on holidays and if there is any other job you think Yumi may find useful just ask.

Interested?: Ask Yumi for more details. Also embassies for Tuonela and Triasol are currently being built within Dinkleberg meaning The Headless Nation is coming together in the capital. An invitation for embassies is extended to Nomads, and other towns whether they're a part of The Headless Nation or not. 

Town Embassies will get a small donations chest in which donations (whether it be building items or rarer things like horse armour) are made to the towns from other mayors and players as a peace offering. Documents and messages may also be put into the chest for the town mayor or town as a whole.

Group Skype

We've now set up a group Skype for people to drop in any time they want. As sometimes it's better to sometimes just simply speak rather than trying to run and type at the same time. :) Feel free to add anyone to the chat who plays on the server, if you're just on there randomly and aren't part of the server you'll be removed because we don't want it to get spammy full of people who don't play. thanks. :D We were also considering mumble or teamspeak.
