Let’s talk about THIEVES SPRAY. Oil unbelievers, rejoice! I assure you this will change your skepticism into awe and wonder. :) Also, extreme thankfulness because you will stay WELL throughout the flu/respiratory sickness season.
Story time:
Once upon a time there was a man named Kurtis Lamberton… his tonsils desperately needed to be removed because they caused him some serious trouble when he was under mass amounts of stress. They got a lot bigger, whiter, and caused severe pain. On multiple occasions his tonsil problems had been the first indicator that a more serious illness was on the horizon – one time it lead straight to pneumonia. Ever since we invested in the Thieves spray (specifically), when the white-patchy tonsils came around, we sprayed them like crazy (about 1-2 pumps) every couple hours and the patches DISAPPEARED.
(That story is in past tense but unfortunately our main character still has his tonsils. But at least we have a bunch of bottles of this magic spray layin’ around! <3 )
The ingredients of Thieves are:
Clove
Rosemary
Eucalyptus Radiata
Lemon
Cinnamon
Quillaja saponaria wood extract
This Young Living product has become a staple item in our wellness regimen and a must-have when it comes to feeling gross. During the month of November, if you……..
~ sell a kit
~buy a kit
~ make a 100 PV order (that stands for Personal Volume – basically means $$$)
….I will personally send you a bottle of Thieves spray… because your health is important and I care about YOU! <3 Ready, set, go!

Emotions
Growing up as a Southern Californian, rainy days were a treat. I remember being ecstatic when it was slightly overcast on a P.E. day because there was the even slighter chance that it may drizzle and we wouldn’t have to run the dreaded mile. Sunshine was taken for granted, just like safe drinking water, food on the table, clean air to breathe. It was an every day luxury.  When I decided to go up to Walla Walla University for school after graduating high school I understood that it would be colder and that there would be “actual seasons”… but I had NO idea what this would do to my mental health.
Freshman year was mild in the way of seasonal affective disorder, but visceral enough that I understood a bit more of what I had heard of SAD. The best way to describe it was that I felt “off”… not my usual self. One time I even had a fit of homesickness, which was very uncharacteristic. That was easily fixed by buying a “Wanna Get Away” ticket from Southwest.
Fast forward to three years later to my nursing school days in Portland. I had begun using essential oils by this point and was using them on a daily basis for making my dorm room smell less like a dorm room, for skin problems, and for aches and pains. The effect on my mood and emotions was the absolute worst during the winter of 2016-2017.  I had less energy to exercise, less motivation to do homework, and even less desire to hang out with people (except for Kurtis… we were stuck to each other like glue). I tried diffusing Lemon… Stress Away… Lavender… and it felt like I was trying to heal a broken arm with a band-aid. It didn’t work for me, despite all the hype about oils boosting your mood and countering negative emotions.
I’m still learning about the uses for individual oils and oil blends and not unlike pharmaceutical medication, each oil has different chemical properties and uses.  You wouldn’t use a statin to cure a headache, you wouldn’t use a beta-blocker to cure the flu, etc. I learned that I couldn’t just pull an oil out of The Barney Bag and see if it’d help. Oils are specific and if you have the right tools and information on how and when to use them, your body could really thank you. I wish I had known better which oils to use when I was experiencing SAD. Here are some oily options for mental health that I just learned by hopping over to The Refinery oils group on Facebook.
~ Joy: helps to change negative feelings into more positive feelings
~ Sandalwood: slows down action of emotions in the limbic system (emotions part of your brain)
~ Sara: allows space for one to move from emotional turmoil to mental clarity by helping to clear emotional trauma.
~ Clarity: enhances mental clarity and focus, allowing one to feel more in control and not overwhelmed
~ Peace & Calming: slows the mind down and allows more oxygen to reach the brain, increasing a sense of safety
~ Frankincense: elevates and stimulates the mind
~ Rose: increases spiritual focus
~ White Angelica: wards off negative energy that your body may be emitting. (my personal favorite… I truly felt more peaceful and positive after diffusing this. It was actually kind of weird. and awesome.)
~ Awaken: helps to balance mental state
~ 3 Wise Men: helps to release deep rooted emotional trauma by providing a grounding sensation.
These are just a few of the essential oils that are geared directly towards mental health – something that is crucial in today’s scary world. When you try using oils, paired with exercise, paired with Jesus time, paired with animals, paired with the ones you love, stellar mental health is where we’ll all be. <3 I’m looking forward to it.

T H I E V E S
In the 15th century, the international trade companies from India to Europe came to a halt because of the Bubonic Plague. In order to overcome this financial hit, spice traders started taking anything valuable from the sick and dying to trade for food.  Using their knowledge of the properties of herbs and spices, the thieves (traders) combined special concoctions to prevent themselves from getting sick.  Gary Young – the founder of Young Living – did a bunch of research to figure out what mixtures they used and to the best of his abilities, copied the magic immunity recipe…..
Cinnamon
Clove
Eucalyptus
Rosemary
Lemon
<3
HOW TO USE:
~ Drop 8-10+ drops into diffuser and keep it going all day long
~ Place one drop in a glass of water and drink it down // or put 2-3 drops into a water bottle and assist your immune system all day long <3
~ Combine a drop or two with coconut/jojoba/sweet almond oil (to dilute it a bit) and rub on the chest. WARNING… if not diluted, Thieves EO will BURN. Trust me (one time I tried to experiment and use it as a deodorant.  I put it directly on my pits and they were ON FIRE for a good 15 minutes.  If this does happen to you either on accident, or if you’re like me, on purpose… rub a carrier oil (coconut, jojoba, sweet almond), lotion, or a milk product on your skin immediately!)
~ Spray a few squirts of the Thieves spray into the back of your throat at the first indication that you might be getting sick.  Use throughout the day for best results – they will be GOOD results, trust me.

I’ve been talking a lot about the premium starter kit so far on my blog but that’s because it’s the best way to get STARTED with essential oils.  The value of the kit is over $350 but only costs $160 :)
If that doesn’t make you excited, I’m not sure what will! Let me break down the cost for ya:
Peppermint: $19.08
Frankincense: $39.14
Lemon: $8.22
Lavender: $15.46
Copaiba $28.29
Panaway: $46.38
RC: $13.49
Purification: $24.67 (only 15 mL available for individual sale)
Digize: $18.09
Stress Away: $39.14 (only 15 mL available for individual sale)
Thieves: $19.08
Home Diffuser // Dewdrop Diffuser: $83.22
All of this comes to $354.26 if for some reason a person was to buy all of these individually without the membership discount.  This is why the premium starter kit is the BEST value per bottle of oil, BEST sampler of some of the most popular oils, and the BEST bang for your buck.
Message me if you want me to send more information about this incredible deal over your way! Happy Sunday, friends!

Feast your eyes on these beauties! I love all of the colors of the bottles and I love even more what they do for my body! Due to the fact that Young Living’s oils have not been tested by the FDA, we have to be “FDA compliant” when sharing what oils do for us by not using any medical terminology and not saying they treat any medical/mental illnesses.  Unfortunately that can sometimes make oilers sound uneducated and like they are making things up. But... I just thought I’d give a fair warning as to why I’m using lay-mans terms and not exactly educated terminology. :)
Grapefruit -- delicious in water, fat burner, mood booster when diffused
Lemon -- skin brightener, FULL of antioxidants, body cleanser, mood booster
Lavender -- makes eyelids extremely heavy ;) relaxer
Thieves -- immunity BOOSTER, healthy keeper, sore throat getter!
Eucalyptus Radiata -- Lung saver, respiratory supporter
Orange -- antioxidant heaven, brightens skin complexion, increases metabolism
Lime -- actually isn’t on sale, but it’s great for diminishing negative emotions
Lemongrass -- air purification, yucky feelings reducer, and relaxation
These are eight of the most popular essential oils and they are more accessible than ever right now at a 20% discount for the next 36 hours!  I’m about to go stock up. RN

Using essential oils in my cookies to give them extra flavor! Did you know you're technically supposed to replace your spices every 6 months because they lose the majority of their flavor so quickly?? And spices are SO expensive... essential oils last longer, don't expire, and will give you WAY more flavor. I know because these cookies are perfectly cinnamon-y! 💕
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ž cup butter
- melted (1½ sticks)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 ½ cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup raisins
- 4 drops of cinnamon bark essential oil
Bake for 14-16 minutes at 325* F on parchment paper. :)

Zoe

Frequencies
Something that has drawn me into essential oils is the topic of frequency.  According to a study done at MIT, every living cell has a vibration frequency of its own depending on what kind of cell it is and how healthy it is.
Here are some facts that I grabbed from a post on Facebook group The Happy Oilers Group. Madison Vining wrote....
- Every single living cell has a vibrational frequency. When we consume things that have frequency (such as fruits and vegetables which are living things), we can increase our body's frequency thus increasing our health.
- Healthy human body frequency: 62+ MHz
- 57-60 MHz is when illness creeps in
- 42 MHz is the point at which our bodies are more susceptible to cancer
- 25 MHz or less, signifies death
- Essentail oils have frequencies as well (because they’re from living plants!) which can raise our bodies’ frequency. Their frequencies range from 52-320 MHz
- One of the most important benefits of using essential oils is due to their ability to increase our cells’ frequencies to a level where disease cannot exist
- Processed food has 0 MHz.... meaning it does nothing good for your health, absolutely nothing.
- Raw, real food (fruits and vegetables) are the only foods that will raise your frequency.
- The essential oils with the highest frequencies are Rose (320 MHz), helichrysum (181 MHz), and frankincense (147 MHz)
- Coffee: Even holding a cup of coffee can lower your body frequency by 8 MHz (yikes!) Taking a sip lowers it by 14 MHz. BUT! Listen to this: When essential oils are inhaled following exposure to coffee, the bodily frequencies restore themselves in less than a minute. But if no oils are administered, it can take up to 3 days for the body to recover from even one drink of coffee. How crazy is that?
- Negative thoughts decrease our frequency by up to 12 MHz
- A positive thought can increase our frequency by 10 MHz
- Prayer/meditation increase our frequency by 15 MHz
SO cool!
How incredible is the God we serve and His plans for us to care for the bodies that He gave us? When we treat our bodies well and surround them with things that are raw, vibrant, and alive, we too are raw, vibrant, and alive! :)
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this! :)

Lavender - “the Swiss Army knife of essential oils.“  We use it for enjoying the springtime outdoors.  I put it in the bathtub to increase my relaxation time and it makes the whole bathroom smell like lavender fields.  <3  My husband has also gotten off of his sleeping pill Unisom that he was taking for over a year by putting lav on the bottom of his feet, on his temple, and put inside his nose.  :)  I don’t know how I would’ve gotten through nursing school without it.

Panaway - so many types of relief. Helps with occasional head discomfort, everyday joint and muscle soreness, and that time o’ month cramp suckiness.  I love this one when I’ve gone a little too hard at the gym, which admittedly isn’t frequent enough.  But when it happens, PanAway is my go-to!  Side note: one time my back was hurting during a long shift at the hospital (in school) so I slapped some on and later during a break the nurses were asking who was drinking root beer… I told them it was my EO. haha It’s true, it does smell kind of like root beer.

Peppermint Vitality - is my most-used oil.  It’s a lifesaver for monthly aches in the abdominal region and wherever my muscles are acting up.  My sister has pretty bad allergies and this one helps her enjoy springtime outdoors.  It opens up the nasal passages increasing oxygen transport to the brain, it increases concentration and memory retention, supports digestive system/heartburn, promotes proper nasal and respiratory function, and eases head tension.  There’s no limit to what peppermint can do.  I’m a belieber!  Oops.. I mean BELIEVER!

Stress Away - exactly what it says. We roll it onto our wrists and the back of our necks anytime we want it. ☺️  It also has vanilla in it, which makes it stand out from the other oils.  Certainly one of my favorites.

Lemon Vitality - my mother-in-law is hooked on this and drinks it in her water every morning!   All of the vitamin C is in the rind of the lemon and one 15mL bottle of lemon EO contains 50 lemon rinds inside it, making it far more beneficial than drinking plain lemon water!! So cool. :) This oil maintains energy levels, helps oily skin, and is great for detoxing your body. The works!

DiGize Vitality - ever go out to Mexican food and immediately regret it because you feel so bloated and gross?  Well fear greasy foods no more!  This oil supports a super healthy digestive system, eases nausea and upset/sour stomach, great for occasional irregularity or upset tummies, relief from occasional heartburn.

RC - contains 3 different kinds of eucalyptus (E. Globulus, E. Radiata, and E. Blue) all containing eucalyptol: a natural organic compound which is an anti-inflammatory agent and analgesic, gets you up & going before working out, creates a comforting environment if you put it in bath water.
