So, I did expect a little bit of applaud there in my previous posts. Anyway, i’ll try better. So next recipe I tried was an outcome of various videos in youtube. This is a two ingredient Chocolate Mousse.
All i needed was half cup of non-dairy whipping cream, I repeat NON-Dairy (because it is already sweetened with added vanilla essence) and some dark chocolate (about 1/4th cup), unsweetened ofcourse. I Whipped the cream in a bowl. kept a bit separated once it doubled while whisking and melt the chocolate and the separated cream (about 1-2 tablespoon on a double boiler. once it melts let it cool for a minute or two, mixed it with the whipped cream and tadaaaaa........

So, my dad bought fresh cream the other day. as a typical miser middle-class, I had a million recipes in my mind that needed cream but i wanted to try out the safest one. this search led me to Hima Subramanium’s YouTube channel named HomeCookinShow. Her recipe was
The ingredients (for 4 people):
To make Masala Paste:
Onion - 2 Nos Finely Chopped
Green Chillies - 4 Nos.
Chopped Garlic - 5 Cloves Ginger
Cumin Powder - 1 TSP
Salt - 1 TSP
Garam Masala Powder - 1 TSP
Boiled Eggs - 5 Nos
Boiled Milk - 1 CUP
Water - 1/4 CUP
Fresh Cream - 2 TBSP
Coriander Leaves
Method: Boil the eggs Peel them and cut them into halves In a mixer jar, add onions, ginger, garlic, green chilies Grind them into a fine paste Heat a kadai with some oil, add the ground paste into it Fry the ground paste till the raw smell goes off and the oil separates Add the spice powders and salt and saute them Add the boiled milk and bring it to a boil Add the egg pieces and close and cook for 5 mins Finally, add coriander leaves and fresh cream and turn off the stove.
When I saw the recipe, everything looked fine except for the number of chillies as my sister is young and wouldn’t prefer grinding 4 chillies so i close 1 chilly. I added 1/2 Teaspoon sugar for extra flavor. The result was not a disappointment at all. Instead it was quite a heavy and full dish. So I recommend this dish with all my heart. Do try and enjoy ;)

The introduction
Hi, I am an average Indian student who cooks. I belong to a Middle-class family thus budget was a big set back. I always enjoyed watching recipe channels but the fancy ingredients that can be used only in one dish was a big “no no” from my mom. even deep frying was to be avoided as much as possible as she believed it wasted oil. Needed guts to cook not because i was scared of burning but because i was scared of getting scolded for cooking a disaster and wasting food.
Thus, I am a miser, Indian, servant less cook trying recipes from different channels on you tube and Instagram and sharing my “middle-class” replacement wherever possible and if not, I will tell you what else can be made by that ‘Particular’ unavoidable ingredient so it doesn’t lie in your fridge or cupboard and expires. So let’s begin ;)
