Innocence ~ Grayson Hawthorne x Reader
i caught you dirty minded readers hahaaa get ur mind out of the gutters
a/n: i have spent too much time reading this stuff and thought that i should try writing! this is the prologue btw, but could be a standalone, if yall want, i’ll start the whole series. hope you guys like it! oh yeah, reader is alisa's sister
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Growing up with the Hawthornes was a blessing and a curse. I got to participate in the Saturday Games hosted by the Tobias Hawthorne himself to expand my mental horizons, and hang out with my best friends. My best friends were the curse.
Grayson, Jameson, Xander, and Nash are like the stereotypical high school friend group. You have the ADHD always high on red bull (mostly actually high) class clown, the smart jokester who somehow finds a way to turn just 1 + 1 into a random calculus equation that AI can't even solve, the chill cowboy who's just there because he's bored and needs fun in his life, and the depressed dude who tries to hide that he can have fun. They're always together, and usually have no issues. However, when they do, it's so entertaining to watch.
My sister Alisa and I came everyday and had loads of fun every single time. Whether it was Drink or Dare (clean or not), Strip Bowling (proud to say that the most I have lost is 3 pieces!), or anything in between, Hawthorne House had everything I wanted and more.
What is complicated, even in Hawthorne terms, is how I felt about a certain brother. When we were little and Zara got married to her second husband, Nash, Alisa, Grayson, and I got nosy. Jameson and Xander hung out with Emily (so glad she’s gone she ruined my mental health) and Rebecca.
~~~~~~~~
“What is it like being married- again?” I asked Zara while holding a lollipop in my hand on the staircase next to Alisa.
The woman thought for a few moments because she knew she was speaking to children who didn’t know the complexities of adulthood. “It’s like having a sleepover with your best friend everyday”.
“But what about your ex-husband? Won’t he be jealous that you’re hanging out with another person? Ooh! What about having a sleepover with both of them?”
Nash and Alisa spat out their juice and began cackling. Grayson put his hand on my shoulder and said exasperatedly “Y/N, I think you had too much sugar”
“Grayson? We’re best friends, right?” I felt a smirk come up on Nash’s face.
“I would think so.”
“Then we should get married when we’re older! We could watch a bunch of movies, eat food, swim, and whatever we want because we’re gonna be ADULTS!”
Nash, Alisa, and Zara began giggling and enjoying the show that is Grayson and I’s friendship. The eldest put back on a straight face and walked away because she was so done with us.
“So Grayson what do you think? Seems like a pretty reasonable offer, right?” Nash asked his brother.
“Yeah Grayson, what do you say? Are you seriously going to reject my sister’s proposal? That’s cold, even for you” Alisa added.
Grayson thought for a moment and furrowed his brows. “Sure Y/N”
I grinned and squealed “Yay!” I hugged him and laid my head on his shoulder. “I could get used to this”
I heard a soft mumble coming from under his breath “So could I”.
