For @hater-era and the @drinkwithme-exchange, Valjean and Myriel, and Valjean and Cosette! I wish I could imagine some way they all could have neatly met in canon era , I think that would have fixed JVJ u__u , but in lieu of that , well: Valjean of course has Myriel with him when he meets Cosette, and it becomes his turn to buy someone's soul out of darkness.

I could play with this for another month trying to decide how much to push the Symbolism XD but you get it, we all get it, we're all nerds here. I hope you like it and I hope you're having fun with the fest! Thank you mods for setting it all up!

Eponine was too well-trained to shriek when the drunken, stinking bourgeois sat down by her as she guarded the gate for Marius, but it was close. Thankfully, he seemed to have no interest in molesting her or raising a hubbub in the neighborhood--simply seeming to want to talk. And talk. And talk. And once he caught sight of Marius, he started talking about him, at least somewhat, mixed in with words about love and life that she could not understand. She doubted he would remember this in the morning. At least he was not excessively loud, and there was some interest in learning about parts of a life that Marius knew, a life she would never know.

Drink With Me 2025 exchange!

This is written in epistolary style, and I had a very good time imagining what Marius and Courfeyrac would have to say to each other. Inspiration hit while I was leaving to go on a trip, so much of this was written in an airport, while I imagined what Courfeyrac's trip might have been like compared to mine. It's set in canon era, but when they leave each other shorter notes, I do still sort of picture the notes on a fridge, held up by a magnet.
