About two days ago a friend sent me this post from a random Spanish Vampire group on FB of these amazing creepy set of puppets... this guy made all the LBC favorites Wednesday, Only Lovers, Bowie, etc. Every comment and description was in Spanish which I am not fluent in so I translated each one and it was always was people talking about the pics or trying to use the post to boost their own inferior projects.
In the end I did a mad search and found out these treasures aren’t completely new but twice as fascinating.... check out some of these pulls from a Vice article from 2017.
-------
“Inspired by morbid memories and antique funerary rituals, the Handsome Devils are hand-sculpted, incredibly detailed puppets, decorated with spooky ephemera like bones found in a field or fragments of the artist's grandmother's jewelry. In addition to original characters, many of the puppets Han builds are based on iconic horror films or famously mysterious personalities, like Sylvia Plath.”
"Every puppet is clothed and accessorized with items of great meaning. Antique lace, found fabrics, pieces of my late grandmother's jewelry… Every puppet I make is imbued with the power and strangeness of people who walked and left this weird world before them, and that is one of my favorite things about them."
"After a traumatic, life-threatening event in my life, I seemed to lose the ability to process the idea of death and loss. Studying the practice of post-mortem photography and the way they so embraced and normalized the idea of death made me feel a little less like I'd gone crazy. Their use of mourning jewelry containing the hair of the deceased has carried over to my use of trinkets of the deceased and human hair in my puppets," explains Han.
--------
These things are magnificent and can actually be commissioned and purchased through the Han the artist’s site. However if you still need convincing checkout this companion instagram.

Re-animated dead from the guy that just can't stay outta the news lately...
Zack Snyder returns to the live-action zombie game with "Army of the Dead" for Netflix.
Here is the first teaser and I guess branding for this flick... now having viewed the trailer, I am excited. Synder's "Dawn of the Dead" re-visioning is, by far, my favourite film he has directed for like a billion reasons. Anyhoo check it out and tell me what you think?

It is inevitable that this interview was coming... being such a divisive issue, I held off on posting this until I had watched everything. So without further intro this is the full Gina Carano exclusive with the Daily Wire.

So I was chatting with another artist friend about how the Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai casting is brilliant and how I thought it was a billion times better than that white-washing shit they did in Ghost in the Shell (live-action). I don't hate ScarJo at all... but Major could have been Japanese. Anyhoo it just morphed into us both waxing poetic about the VHS era, when you first saw Ninja Scroll, the rules of Anime, ACME video, Faces of Death, the very first UFC days. (like Shamrock & Gracie days) Then he stops dead cold and asks me if I have ever seen the frame by frame breakdown of the opening to Akira? Then mic drop or vid drop? WTF? It would be fair to say he dropped a bomb on me.... so this is old but if you are an artist or someone who has spent many hours drawing.... you have to check this shit out.

HBO & Games of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin are voltroning up with Kalinda Vazquez to develop an adaptation of Roger Zelazny’s 1979 sci-fi/fantasy novel Roadmarks
The man that made the world utter, “Winter’s Coming” will act as the series exec-producer. Kalinda Vazquez (Marvel’s Runaways, Once Upon A Time, Star Trek: Discovery) will take on the screenwriting duties.
--------------------------
Zelazny's book focuses on "a highway that can travel through time, linking all timelines and places together for the very special people who discover it. Some might use it to explore the vast mysteries of the world, but for others, the road might be their only hope to survive, rewrite life-altering mistakes, and create a better future for themselves and the ones they love."
Martin had this to add “My career in television started in 1985 when I adapted Roger Zelazny’s Last Defender of Camelot for The Twilight Zone. Roger was a friend, a mentor, and one of the greatest science fiction writers who ever lived. It was an honor to be able to bring his work to television. That is why I am so thrilled to be a part of adapting Roger’s novel Roadmarks for HBO. We have a great book, a great screenwriter in Kalinda Vasquez, and the makings of a wonderful, original show. I look forward to a long and thrilling journey.”

Wow this is going be kinda weird, you got GRRM who’s so real, researched and unfiltered in everyway matching up with Vazquez who seems be hanging on the new forced Hollywood programming in media. Is this going to be a relief for KV so she can now get down to really honing her craft under Martin’s earned protection or is this going to be a battle that get’s marooned in development hell?

In Cincinnati, Ohio,  Federal agents  intercepted a shipment of corn flakes frosted with cocaine...
In my childhood my Ma never picked up sugar cereals, cupboard full of boredom dust, in a collection of dull monolithic boxes. No colours, no free toy and zero fun. Most certainly not as fun as a bowl of this stuff.
“Federal agents say they seized frosted cereal in Cincinnati because the corn flakes turned out to be soaked in cocaine.
Bico, a narcotic detector dog with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, sniffed out the cocaine coated flakes on Feb. 13 in a shipment of cereal from South America, according to a release from the agency.
The 44 pounds of cocaine cereal seized has an estimated value of $2.82 million.
The shipment was headed to a private residence in Hong Kong, according to the release.
Officers found white powder and the flakes were coated in a grayish substance after the dog alerted on the shipment.”

Matt Reeves “THE BATMAN” HBO Max Spinoff seems to be drawing inspiration from the pages of the DC comic “Gotham Central”
So just like Marvel's Wandavision/Falcon & The Winter Soldier television series’ firmly integrate with it’s movie franchises, DC has also been developing a series called “Gotham PD” that will be set in Year One of Matt Reeves new planned trilogy of films “The Batman”. (which the first chapter takes place in Year two of the Caped Crusaders history)
Initially I had heard that the entire project was to take place before the GCPD worked with the Batman and was early on in his career. A spooky legend that some criminals and cops have claimed to have seen. All these bits of lore from the POV of a corrupt Gotham City cop. (which has to include some version of Jeffery Wrights’ take on Jim Gordon, which makes sense as his last big gig was with Westworld, another HBO property)
A few months ago the project gained a new showrunner/writer, Joe Barton (Giri/Haji/the ritual) after the departure of Terrence Winter over creative differences. According to this report by the iIluminerdi, the character details sound very much like they are using “Gotham Central” as a roadmap...
----------------------
The lead female character is black, 35-45 years old, and a former detective who becomes the new Gotham District Attorney. The male lead is a 30-40 year old white police detective who works for Commissioner James Gordon.
We also know that the show is confirmed to tie directly into Matt Reeves’ The Batman and will begin shooting in Summer 2021.
Looking at who the two leads may be, the most likely guesses are Marcus Driver and Janice Porter from Gotham Central. Both characters have a rich history in the Caped Crusader’s comic run, and they should be interesting heroes to center the new HBO Max series on.
Gotham PD begins shooting this summer, so it will hopefully only be a matter of time before talent begins attaching itself to the cast. There is still no word on when it will release, although the hope is that it will be close to the March 2022 release of The Batman.
----------------------
I’m just so glad it’s going to be a night and day difference to the last time they tried this... I don’t want another CW-d Batman show with no Batman. Just saying.

Netflix orders Live-Action Wednesday Addams TV Series From Legendary director Tim Burton
I can’t explain how much I love the Addams Family, the Munsters, the Gruesomes, the Klopeks, Hilarious House of Frightenstein, etc. etc. etc. Now this worries me as I haven’t seen good representations of these characters since the live action Barry Sonnenfeld films. The Bryan Fuller attempted relaunch of “the Munsters” tanked for so many reasons mostly because the characters were to self-aware and not being green is another factor. The animated “Addams Family” film was very child driven and lacked the sharp humor of the originator Charles Addams. So now we are going to get Tim Burton’s take on it... who has been very hit and miss over the years. The synopsis reads like this:
"The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."
The coming-of-age comedy, written by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar and to be directed by Burton. Also executive producing the series are TV writer-producer Kayla Alpert (Code Black, Up All Night) as well as several producers associated with the Addams Family IP: Andrew Mittman for 1.21 (The Addams Family, Alphas), Kevin Miserocchi (Tee and Charles Addams Foundation), Jonathan Glickman for Glickmania (Respect, Addams Family 2) and Gail Berman (The Addams Family, Alphas).
Netflix hasn’t announced a casting call as of yet but it doesn’t surprise me that when this news dropped online last week there was an overwhelming swell for Christina Ricci to return to the role. It’s not likely considering she has aged past the story direction but I gotta say I’m all for the Ricci fan favorite idea. <3

Cruella Trailer
Hey look, the Mouse Haus has gotta PG-rated Joker comin'atcha. An' if you don't believe me, take five minutes and re-rinse those Joker and Birds of Prey trailers before you hit this one. Furthermore... this gives me the Tim Burton production feels that align very much with "Dark Shadows" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Emma Stone is a great actor, what could go wrong?
