i've gotten back into theater tech work and had a fun idea for Saiouma in theater together.
one dynamic you always see in theater is the Show Director vs the Tech Director. the Show Director has these big ideas for what he wants things to look like while also being preoccupied with getting the actors ready, and the Tech Director has got to make it work... somehow.... despite the laws of physics and the limited resources
now i don't personally see Kokichi as the kind of person to do this normally, but between saiouma he's the more likely candidate for the Show Director. for those who like blowing Kokichi's chaos way up this is perfect for y'all, have fun tormenting Tech Director Shuichi!
Buuuut if you're like me and prefer him to be more grounded and logical- might i suggest him doing this anyways, but with the added context of him knowing it's way too much and pretending to be persuaded into something more logical that was actually he real plan with the intent of messing with Shuichi? until he catches on at least. who knows, maybe he's trying to gauge if Shuichi's on the same wavelength as him by doing this.

i can't believe i haven't done this before
au where Kokichi is a super powered vigilante that no body can tell if is a problem or not.
like on one hand half the time this guy regularly takes out serious threats to the city, sometime even doing a better job than the professionals assigned to the cases- but on the other hand the rest of his activity is petty theft and pestering the everloving shit out of police officers, just alot of random small stuff that stacks up to become stupid annoying.
nobody knows if they should try and arrest him cause yeah the pestering is annoying as hell and theft is illegal, but also this guy has single handedly made the city much safer- do we arrest him for his own crimes despite the good he does severly outweighing them oooorr....?
meanwhile he's surprised no one's tried to arrest him yet cause he's well aware of how much he drives cops nuts, i mean- he did become a vigilante with the explicit goal of making a fool of the city's law enforcement after all

i've talked about this on the ronpa discord i'm in but i don't think i've ever made a post about it, so i'm doing that now
i think B Dylan Hollis's content is very Kokichi core.
Kokichi would be the fucker to make videos where he chaotically follows questionable recipes from history while creatively cussing out the dishes, cracking gay jokes, and screaming "ciminim!!!".
the energy is there, and now i'm beaming it into your minds. go forth and make aus where Kokichi does the Dylan thing

mmmmm Kokichi being forced to drop his evil asshole shtick to save his classmates in an emergency (ie something akin to the school catching on fire)
no thoughts just- it's something they have to act fast in and he either becomes a true monster and leaves a classmate in need of help behind, or he lets his DICE instincts take over and gets them to safety at the expense of his own. lil zest of angst if he got hurt in the process and now people are worried about him
i like the idea of this being an instance of Kokichi being a hero and Kaito short circuiting about it. Kaito does help in getting everyone to safety, but he's evacuating and not running into the danger to save someone trapped. Kaito can't wrap his head around Kokichi "dips every time hard work is involved" Ouma putting his life at risk for someone like that.
my idea for this is Kaito assumed when Kokichi was nowhere to be seen during the evacuation that he dipped and left everyone behind, then it's found out by a head count that Kokichi isn't present at all and neither is another student, they then find him and that student on the other side of the school with Kokichi injured and the other person passed out. Kaito now has to cope with the fact that one of the worst people he knows just did an act of heroism that he himself didn't have the guts to pull off.
i also love the idea of Kokichi preferring to be disliked and pushing away praise for his good deeds. like he gloats all the time about not that impressive bullshit, but the second he does something truely good and people call him a hero for it, he gets hella bitey. he gets super grumpy and strays away from everyone more than usual after this, hoping his cagey behavior will make people dislike him again so things can just go back to normal, but then Kaede has the AUDACITY to call his closing himself off "a Kokichi way of being humble". he's gonna fight her he swears (lies)
Kokcihi hating being heroic despite it being in his nature thanks to his time saving DICE's asses mmmmm

fuck you. projecting.
Shuichi has sleep paralysis. i think i've done this before but i don't care. sleep paralysis.
he doesn't have demons, just the paralysis, he's gotten so use to it that he's calm when it happens and once he shakes himself out of it he just goes about his morning like he normally does- which for him is usually turning over and trying to fall back asleep (resultingninto him falling back into sleep paralysis again) until either his uncle our cousin shove him out of bed

thanks to the discord server sending a video and saying it was DICE
au where Kokichi and DICE are trying to steal from somewhere, but a much more dangerous criminal pulled up to the same place and is threatening Shuichi who works there. DICE thinks fast and is able to immobilize the more dangerous guy for Shuichi, then dips.
it's only afterwards when the dangerous guy is detained by security does Shuichi realize they managed to steal a good lot of stuff during that whole fiasco
the video was of a convenience store, but honestly i think it'd be funnier if it was somewhere much more fancy

guess who's back, and with an offering!
Tumblr media
woe, art of the chaos clowns be upon ye!!
for those who aren't aware, these are the street clothes designs for my hc DICE- specifically Daisuke Kajiwara and Eriko "Micky" Horri
Kaji's known Kokichi quite literally since birth and is like a brother to him, and Micky was the first friend he made outside of Kaji back when they were in 1st grade when he got his ass handed to him picking a fight with her bullies. i've got so much stuff in my head for these two but i'm not going to blather here
this trio is also the original three DICE members, the founding fools if you will. they officially started DICE about a year after Micky joined them and have been wreaking chaos together since

i've turned a joke idea into a real prompt before, i can do it again. Kokichi but like- he's a fitness geek.
i love me some Twunkichi and i think it'd be funny if he was like, really serious about fitness. He pretends he lounges around all day and claims he forces his subordinates to do everything for him, but he always stays active and has a regular exercise routine. And when i say geek, i don't mean the Fitness Bro "eat healthy, stay skinny, gain muscles" way, i mean he's literally a geek about the science behind it.
This boy knows all the different ways to keep fit, and how drasrically different fitness can look between various people. The only thing he'd ever universally recomend is regualr stretching because the body needs to regularly move and that's a good way to do it, he'd never suggest anything else to people without knowing their needs and restrictions first. He wants to shove straight protien powder down the throats of Gym/Fitness Bros™ who do that to people.
best part is he rarely tells anyone about his fitness knowlage and life unless they specifically ask, so alot of people just assume he's lazy as fuck.
I can imagine Kaito dragging him to join the training trio for a session cause "you need to get off your lazy ass and do something" and Kokichi ends up in a shouting match with Kaito because Kaito skips straight to the workout without any kind of prep/warmup/pre-stretches, which is yk- not healthy to do and can increase likelyhood of injury.

Yk how people make these moments in fics where one admits in some way he feels comfy around the other? that but Saiouma.
imagine Shuichi admiting to Kokichi he trusts him and feels like he's the only one he can truely be himself around. imagine how hard that'd blindsight Kokichi- how much it'd fluster him.
imagine this is pre-dating and Kokichi not knowing what to do with the fact his crush feels that way around him. imagine Shuichi only admiting this because he's in love with Kokichi and was about to confess but backed out and told him that secrete instead.
imagine the flustered struggle they both go through after that trying to bite back their feelings for one another to "act normal" about it

ya know what'd be funky as hell? a child fame au with Shuichi.
like, Shuichi became famous as a child detective when he was pretty younge after solving that one case, and kept his popularity for a good while. as he got older tho, his smarts became less novel and wonderous, and his fame faded. well- not entierly, the Kid detective Shuichi Saihara is still very well known- but only the idealized kid version, no one knows fuckall about his older self.
in modern day, he's in his mid 20's and is going to collage, majoring in creative writing as a hopes to eventually craft himself a new path in life away from detective work. he doesn't particularly like being a detective, especially not after going through both the classic trauma stress, and the stress of fame. he does his best to disconnect himself from the child popculture idolzied, and he personally thinks he's done a decent job at it by being a slepdeprived bisexual punkrocker. sometimes people will hear his name and go "oh isn't that also the name of that one kid detective?" and he's like "yeah i get that alot" standing there in full garb and running off hopes, dreams, and a leathal amount of monster energy.
so basically- Shuichi was famous as a 7y/o detective who was crazy smart and really adorable in his little suit, and now is a antisocial 24y/o punk who hasn't slept in three days and is trying to run away from his past but it's fiiiiinee
gotta love grown up versions of kid celebreties who are both wildly different and total trainwrecks as adults.

so i was thinking about my half-Hispanic Shuichi hc and i had a neat think.
ya know folklorico dresses? the beautiful dresses that are used in mexican folk dance, and are absolutly mesmerizing to watch cause they create an optical illusion whem movied right?
yeah what if Hispanic Shuichi wore one of those to his own wedding.
i can totally see Kokichi thinking it's a normal dress cause he's never seen one move before, and at best knows it's something tied to Shuichi's heritage by the colors and style being reminicent of other traditional clothing he's seen. But then when they get to dance at the after reception party Shuichi actually shows it off and Kokichi is instantly entranced by it. honestly who wouldn't tho.
Shuichi might be embarrased from doing something so flashy like that in front of so many people, but he'll be damned if it wasn't worth it to get the rare surpised/shocked look from Kokichi. he thrives catching his beloved menace off guard.

saiouma nerd rivals to lovers
think about it, one of the biggest appeals of Saiouma is their mental tricks and games, so this is just a whole au of nothing but that.
they're students as some school, be it hpa or a collage or a normal highschool, and they spend almost their whole time there constantly trying to one up one another. it starts cause they see one another as some flavor of stuck up smartass, and want to knock the other down a peg or two, but end up falling into a rivalry when they find one another to be a rather worthy opponent.
their rivalry slowly but surely shifts from being hate fulled, to having fun out smarting one another, to finding themselves feeling a sense of longing for one another that freaks them out. they try to back out of this feeling but it's much harder to do than either though, and their efforts to escape it only pushed them deeper in till they fell head over heals for one another.
just, stupid geniouses <3

my drafts are severely low rn because i've been hyperfixating on like five other things that aren't Saiouma for the past month. i might need to take a small break to get this out of my system and make some new drafts too
i don't wanna, but i gotta. my fangan, dumb critter collector idea, conlang, and chaotic fanmade animal jam lore aren't going to remove their grubby claws from my neck long enough for me to focus on saiouma prompts.
attention is way too split, Hiatus time

okay okay look- hear me out
Warlock Shuichi
i have my reasons hear me out-
Shuichi's parents dumped him on his patron as payment for a deal they made, patron take care of him and give him powers that help him survive in the world on his own but in trade he has to seek out the truth for the patron- truths that are more often than not very ugly. instead of doing things for his uncle out of his own sense of obligation, he's doing things for a patron he got dumped on as actual payment for the care it's given him. a very good twisted parallel to his canon story imo
maybe his work is hunting down info about others who've made pacts with the same patron to figure out the truth about how they died, and in some special cases is told to hunt down and capture the killer like a bounty hunter. He's plagued by the knowledge he's only useful to his patron/guardian after someone's dead and gone, unable to save them and can only really send their killer to their doom if he's allowed to do anything at all
also this just sounds like hell for Shuichi
Tumblr media
he ain't seeking it but he's getting it anyways, and it's a hell he has to accept if he doesn't want to end up lost in the world with nothing to his name

today's post is a drawing of one of my fangan gals, Neiro Shibata
Tumblr media
this was originally going to be full body but i decided against it cause i wasn't feeling well when i drew it last night.
fun fact; she originally had a red band with her old band's logo on it tied around her arm, but the only reason i even gave that to her was because the red arm band is a ronpa design trope. i didn't want her to have it anymore but without it her design felt empty, so i improvised a tattoo instead which suits her much better

Imagin an au where Kokichi retired from being a phantom thief after getting bored with how easy it was to get away.
it's been a few years and his case had run cold; some detectives have tried to open it up again because he still has a massive bounty on his head, but they ultimatly failed to get anywhere new with it and locked it up again... until Shuichi got ahold of it that is.
be it by pure talent or sheer luck, while running over the case in his free time for the hell of it Shuichi managed to stumble across a lead in the case. This descovery got his boss practically begging him to look into it and try to find more, hoping maybe if he can solve the unsolvable case their agency will get more traction.
Against his better judgment Shuichi decides to give it a shot and starts working on the case, slowly reoriginzing everything to better fit the new peice of evidence he found. doing so he uncoveres more and decides field work is in order. despit the case having been cold for a while, the least he could to was interveiw the old targets and ask a bit about their experiances with the phantom thief.
Shuichi's involvment in the case and the sudden new info sparks a buzz in the news, and said buzz reaches Kokichi. intruiged by this new development he decides to throw Shuichi a bone and starts to send him anonymous letters and notes to see what he'd do with them. Shuichi is surprised by this as he assumed the thief was inactive due to finally getting his fill, but finding this highly targeted activity brought to light the thief's more thrill seeking desires.
This back and forth happens for a month or so before a very abrupt spike in activity occurs in the form of a jewlery hiest. the first phantom thief hiest in literal years. Shuichi is of course sent to check it out and finds his thief is a bit rusty from inactivity and left a clue that would have never be left behind otherwise. Kokichi did not make a mistake though, he's intruiged by this new detective and wanted to give him a little reward for getting as far as he had. it was a dangerous choice for sure, but hey, wasn't what why he became a thief in the first place?
From here it becomes your average phantom thief au, but with the added bonus of not only is Shuichi the first person in years to get any lead on Kokichi, but also becomes the first to stand face to face with him. i think that little bit of extra zest in this au makes the stakes a bit higher than normal and the choices either make more stressful for them. does Kokichi want to keep his legendary status or does he want to risk it all for this cute detective? does Shuichi want to become a legend by solving the unsolvable case, or does he want to bond with this elusive thief and chase him forever just for fun and love?
