I hope people in the OSC (and other fandoms in general) who are ok with or neutral about Kosa realize that not only will we lose a bunch of platforms that allow us to interact with each other (Tumblr, discord, Ao3, Wattpad, Twitter, YouTube, etc) but will also get rid of at least 80-95% of our fandom.
The OSC consists mostly of people between 13-17 who (if Kosa goes through the Senate and Houses of Representatives and gets passed as a law) will most likely no longer have access to YouTube and other social platforms which actively kills almost all the people who read and watch Object Shows!
By visiting and sharing animated shows like II or BFDI those creators make money which gives them the means to keep making their shows and paying their animators, voice actors, writers and so much more. This bill will actively get rid of most of the people who watch these shows which will cause a large loss in support and revenue for these creators and will most likely mean the end for any smaller object show.
Object show comics rely on people sharing them around in fandom spaces since they’re not animated and put on YouTube like animated object shows are. By losing these spaces and the people who support their content these creators will no longer be able to reach a large audience and get the support they need to continue their comics. This means that we will lose a lot of the comics that the OSC has!
Most of the content you see in the OSC is made by minors, which this bill will actively destroy and thus kill this fandom and many others!
So I am begging of you OSC and other communities, Please please please sign petitions, tell your senators and representatives that you don’t want this bill to pass, and tell anyone that you can reach about how this Bill is a violation of privacy and minors' rights! Re-blog anything you see with helpful information about what Kosa is and keep talking about it! We need to tell people about it so that this doesn’t go through the Senate. Remember, the final day is February 26, we don’t have that long!!!

What a horrifying law, lets all pray this doesnt happen to us.
https://www.tumblr.com/achivement-unlocked/743086027324932096/kosa
Not the anon, but Kosa is a bill that's soon going to pass where minors on the internet get their parents to see what they search up and restrict things that are deemed "inappropriate." When in reality it prevents kids who are trying to learn about the lbgtq community and kids trying to identify abuse. The bill will change the internet forever and NOT in a good way.
Im pretty sure the anon is trying to ask you to spread awareness about this.
Some links to prevent this are:

Hello everyone! Today I have a pretty big announcement, and one I've been waiting to do for a while now. As of recently our family has been concerned with my work and monetization of it. They want me to succeed from me making art and whatnot. Today I reached a conclusion on that, and so today I'm excited to bring you:
THE MONETIZATION CORNER!!
By pledging a small amount a month, you can gain access to behind-the-scenes material like incomplete art, sketches, looks into how I make music, as well as life updates and anything else of that sort. It will help massively and will allow me to do great things in the future so it would be nice if you subscribed to this thing or at the least gave a tip.
There is already a post on here for everyone to see regarding the unique pfp I built for this account. Hopefully this will win over some people teehee.
I'll appreciate any donations! Thank you for being fans of my music and of my art!
This is for the big one, The Messenger.

A little late to this, but happy new year! I have made every post I made in 2023, including reblogs of other posts, under the new #2023 tag! Besides that, I am still trying to get my Youtube account back. Be ready for a new art piece being uploaded today!

Hello everyone! Three news today, first is that my standalone site for this blog is now updated!
Hope you like this! Secondly, starting from the 17th, I will be spending time with my sister for the holidays. Thirdly, I got a new laptop! I'll still try to use the old one (which im typing this from) as that one is THE place I worked at for the past 3 years or so, and I don't have Krita installed yet on there.
So with that in mind, I will not be posting any new art for the period im at my sister's. This means a minimum of two weeks. Hopefully You don't mind the wait. As for #Operation Take That!, Your support has been helpful to me. Someone suggested me on Discord to make a Twitter account, but I feel like with Twitter being blocked in Russia AND the fact that there may be phone verification honestly dissuades me from this. I will still try though. As always, please reblog that post (which is pinned on this blog) and share it around so my story is heard. Thank You.

Here is how the phenomenon in the third bulletin looks like. Youtube shoud really fix this. You can replicate this by 1) being banned and 2) pressing the YouTube button on the top left.
Hello everyone! Before I begin, I have to say I very much thank everyone who shared my story around. It may not be much, but it could lead to something more. Thank you for doing that.
Since my goal with my original post was to not only address my sudden unfair banning from the platform but to also give attention to other problems with this platform, I decided to give this operation a catchy name of sorts. You can call it
Operation Take That!
or anything else really. Hopefully that will give this movement more of an identity.
In other news though, I may have discovered some very peculiar bugs that affect the Youtube experience for me, and I'll show these in this post to give bugfix suggestions. For the sake of clarity, and also because I like old stuff, I will be showing these screenshots with CustomTube enabled. It's an extension for Chrome and Firefox that changes the look of the Youtube layout to older ones, specifically mid 2014 in this case.
First on my examination will be the home page. For this and other instances, I will be comparing how a banned user sees a page with the same tab but in a container so as to show how a normal user sees the same page. So how does the home page should usually look like? It should look as shown here:
Tumblr media
Notice the sidebar on the left. Now lets compare it with the non-container homepage, and see what we get:
Tumblr media
You can immediately see how the sidebar is gone. Why? If you can't login into a youtube account, why remove the sidebar? It still wouldnt let you sign in anyway because you are terminated. It is simply unnessesary!
Now lets move onto the watch page, and see how that is different, here is a screengrab of a random video I took from the home page in the container:
Tumblr media
Again, notice the sidebar, but also the Like and Dislike buttons and the row of buttons from "About" to "More". Lets also compare the comments section, here is how it looks in container:
Tumblr media
Great, right? Now lets see how those two look without container:
Tumblr media
Notice how wrong everything looks? The lack of sidebar again, the misshapen Like button, the Save button here is the default one, the Share button has been replaced with a number, and the More button has three dots underneath it. Odd right? Lets see the comment section now:
Tumblr media
Oh wait, there is no comment section here, because it's stuck in a loading loop! Again, why does this need to happen when you get banned? This is just unnessesary again!
Here's some other issues that I know of or found that I feel like need to be fixed:
The Like and Dislike buttons in comment sections lead to the sign in, unlike the ones under the video itself.
There's been performance issues for users of Firefox, including an intentional 5-second slowdown and big lag. The lag one in particular seems to be happening to everyone, not just me with an almost decade-old laptop at this point. Some speculate these changes were made by Google as part of a tactic to get non-Chrome users to, well, use Chrome, and see it as just plain being greedy. I think so too.
Occasionally, when I enter the home page from a watch page, the tab assumes I am logged in and shows my pfp and notification bell and all. I can click the pfp to open what would be the menu there, but is stuck in an endless loop. As well, the page im on shows a "Something went wrong" error. Very weird. That needs to be fixed too I think.
Again, please reblog and share this post around to not only hear my story but to hear my criticisms and suggestions too. I might make more of these posts to show how bad Youtube's getting as a platform. Also I am still considering whether to get a Boosty or not. Maybe even a Ko-fi if they allow that. Again, thank you for your support so far, I couldn't be more happy to hear your thoughts on this, and if any of you had or have the same experience I'm having, please reach out!
- Thank you, The Messenger.

seeing people (and by people I mean. not even russians) already speaking about the whole thing going on in Russia as if it were a fucking quirky joke. “Oh I’m considered an extremist in this country I don’t live in at all! Uwu!” “LOLZ I’m proud to be deemed a danger in Russia!” “PROUD ASSIGNED LGBT EXTREMIST BY RUSSIAN LAW” You know this shit is very likely going to get people killed right. Like. You know that, right. People are very likely going to die because of this law. And you know you’re not helping in the fucking slightest right
