This blog will remain up to archive all the art and posts here ✌️Hope to see y'all on my main, maybe sometime in the future I'll revive this blog but don't really count on it

Wanted to make a formal announcement here since it looks like I'll still possibly be inactive for a long while

I'm much more active on my main blog and my elder scrolls blog, @slowpokegamer and @scamp-on-a-lamp Neither of these blogs really have a focus on self shipping, but if you like my art then that would be the place to find a lot of it right now

I'm also A LOT more active on my twitter and instagram, @_cryptidc0re_ for the instagram and @Sl0wp0ke_G4mer for the twitter

I've been heavily considering archiving this blog and moving my self ship art and content to my main, as the community on Tumblr as a whole has become incredibly uncomfortable and sad for me. Lots of my mutuals have either deactivated or moved sites. It's really discouraging, because I did and still do consider several of them my friends and the change is really hard for me to adjust to ands it made me really sad,, The Tumblr self ship community just doesn't feel like a safe space for EVERYONE anymore and I feel like I'd be better moving shop

As of right now, this blog is still active, but most likely will not be in the recent future. I'll make a post when the time comes for that

Mostly been inactive because I started a new job earlier this week and before that I've been big depressed™ so I've been a bit busy and I've also considered just moving this kind of content back to my main and archiving this blog but that's not the point Uhhhh Sundaeshipping time

Would you mind explaining Chikaru’s role in season 9 more in depth?

Yes I definitely can! I don't have too too much quite yet, at least not too much compared to how much I usually try to write, but I've got the basic ideas down and stuff and I'll probably get some more when I rewatch season 9 :)

So, Chikaru was on the Bounty with ninja and Wu when it was sent to the First Realm. Since we don't really get much of a look of the ninja when the first arrive there, there's not much to say on that front, just that he was VERY freaked out and immediately got terrible vibes from the entire realm. After about two days of being there, Chikaru started getting sick, and on the third day he was unable to do anything. He had a massive fever and kept complaining of toothaches and headaches on the top of his forehead. Zane did what he could to try and ease some of his pain during this time, but there wasn't much he could do other than occasionally go over and use his ice to try and numb some of his jaw and head.

It's important to remember that at this current point in the story, both Chikaru and the ninja still don't know he's an Oni. They just know that he's just as sick as he was when the infection that took his arms first started to spread, so everyone's a bit on edge. By the time we see the ninja at the start of season 9, Chikaru is still very sick and weak, he can't hold down any food (not that they found much food there to begin with) and his teeth have started sharpening, which was what causing his toothache.

During the time he was sick he was also having really strange dreams, borderline nightmares about the realm they were in and the oni, though at the time he didn't really know they were oni. He found himself unable to decipher or figure out anything about his dreams, and Zane was just as clueless, so they just assumed it was feverish delusions. Near the end of their time at the wreck of the Bounty before they were all ambushed, Chikaru started to gain a bit of his strength back, but he was still very weak. He was at least able to stand again and carry things, but something was definitely off about him. He was itching and scratching himself more, drawing blood a few times and reopening wounds he gained during the crash, and every time he tried to help Zane repair the radio he only ended up breaking it again. This was just kind of his oni blood stirring more and bubbling up, starting to manifest in the form of mild destruction on himself and things around him.

When the dragon hunters ambushed them later, Chikaru was the first one they captured and from there details get a bit hazy,,, It picks back up in the Pit when they're all fighting the dragon. The dragon, of course, is ONLY going after Chikaru and he can barely muster up enough energy to keep out of the way and dodge it. He eventually lost energy and stumbled, leaving him open for the dragon to grab him. Before it could though, Chikaru's oni blood fully snapped awake as an act of last ditch self preservation. Previously, I had it to where he turned into a full oni like the ones we saw in s10, but I've rethought it a bit and decided that when he transformed he only stayed in the half form we see him in now

The transformation released a rather large burst of energy, which stunned the dragon momentarily and gave Zane enough time to rush in front of a barely conscious Chikaru to freeze the dragon.

So, basically Iron Baron was like "HOLY FUCK AN ONI AND BUNCH OF ELEMENTALS YOOOOOO" and the story goes forward as usual, and from there I'm still deciding on things, so not much to say about when the ninja were being used to summon the dragons and such qwq Still working out details on that section and the escape

I know that after the escape everyone slows down for a bit to look at Chikaru and just go "okay what the fuck" and Chikaru is just standing there like "Guys please I genuinely had no fucking clue I do not want horns please God help me"

Basically I really only have a bit of the first half of s9 fully developed and little bit of the end. Definitely planning on working out more stuff with my partner when I get around to rewatching s9, so there will be more details soon! Maybe I'll come back to this post and it all on when I figure it out. The whole reason Chikaru transformed into his oni form this season was being in the First Realm, the home of his ancestors and a very powerful spiritual link to his species and himself, caused his powers to try and manifest again. When he lost his arms after s6, most of the oni blood in him was destroyed, having disintegrated along with arms after he drank tea made from the Dragon Flower. Being so close to the source of his powers caused what little blood left in him to try and transform him again, and that's why his full form looks the way it does. Had his arms somehow been saved, he most likely would have transformed into something more along the lines of the full blooded oni we see in s10.

So,,, that's about all I have right now. If there was a specific question you had about all that feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer :'> if not a full answer I can at least give a small brainstorm of some ideas I've had for the sections I don't have story for.
