With all that's happened these past few days, a part of me wishes I had a more eventful set of Stolas posts to share with you. On the other hand, it may be that there's never been a more fitting time to discuss this extremely ordinary handful of updates that Stolas posted around the end of July of 2021.

(The exception: one that concerns Stella and Via, which is unusual enough that I want to talk about it separately.)

These posts paint a very quiet picture of Stolas's day-to-day life; a portal to the sky where the Northern Lights are taking place, a serene shot of a comfortably clad Stolas reading "50 Shades of Red," snapped by Via, which Stolas elected to share because he "thought it was a nice picture," and he was right. There's a selfie of himself and Via having a movie marathon of their universe's answer to Twilight (Stolas, perhaps not unsurprisingly, is on "Team Edwin") and though Via points out that he's embarrassing her, he can't help but use the hashtag to gush about how much he loves her. Last but not least, a shot of Stolas ringing up Blitzo, not to harass him sexually -- remember, the full moon deal was not present in this story -- but simply to see if Blitzo wants to meet up somewhere.

The Stolas of this brief window of time was night and day from the Stolas of the series. This is a Stolas that's not riding off with Blitzo on a white horse, but nonetheless enjoys a fulfilling life full of cozy reading, celestial viewing, selfies he posts just because he thinks they look nice, and the love of his child. In addition, because he's spent the last few months actually caring about Blitzo as a person, the two are on warm enough terms to meet up and spend time together in broad daylight.

This is, in short, a Stolas who would never spend hours watching his crush do bad standup while his daughter roamed a strange, dangerous city...a Stolas who would never in a hundred, never in a thousand years dream of guilt tripping Blitzo for taking his daughter to the doctor.

And that Stolas, in the opinion of this blog, is worth remembering.

If Stolas was written to lack self-awareness but was shown to be wrong then that would be one thing. It could be really interesting if the show dismantled Stolas's perception of himself as a noble demon who helps out the little people and deserves love for existing and lowering himself to fraternize with the common folk... but that's not the angle here.

the show keeps gaslighting the audience by claiming that Stolas was never a bigot towards imp.

harvest moon festival exists... The Whole first seasons showed how toxic their relationship was and bad it was for Blitz. Blitz was stuck trying to keep the Goetia Prince happy so he could get into the human world and Stolas stalked him and belittled his friends the whole time.

Striker was right about Stolas but Blitz NEEDED the book. And sure, maybe stockholm syndrome has settled in and Blitz is deluding himself into thinking he cares about Stolas or that what they had was good for him because he read Stolas's words correctly...

but the writing would ha ve to be GOOD for that to be true.

Instead,Viv is re-writing the events of season 2 so that Stolas is blameless and Blitz looks like the Big Bad for finally being honest about his feelings.

Blitz is right to say this but the show doesn't want the audience to agree with him. Because it's spent the last season rewriting Stolas into a Sad pathetic weasel of a man who is so self-centered that he only hears what he wants to hear and twists words so that they suit him.

Stolas is mad at Blitz for telling it as it is and that's why he's being petty now. Blitz is being realistic but this shatters the image of himself that Stolas has. In better writing hands, this could be a interesting and complex plot thread but...

Well , you know.

It’s a little bit humorous in a sad way that I had the fleeting idea of Verosika still hating Blitzø until she realized the situation he’s in with Stolas and she just gives Stolas a ‘The Reason You Suck’ speech before tugging Blitzø after her and when he asks why she would defend him, Verosika is just “I fucking hate you for what you did to me. How you made me feel like it was all my fault… but unlike you, I can’t stand to see it happen to someone else. Even someone that broke my heart.”

Like the Fuck Blitzø parties have Verosika practically taking on the responsibility of helping others who were in a similar situation to her and that’s kind of what I wanted from her to begin with. Proving she’s better than Blitzø, but by doing the right thing because she has a stronger character and cares about other people, and she doesn’t let her own pain get in the way of that.

I feel like I’m like the one one who feels this way and people may hate me for having this opinion but I’ll share my thoughts anyways. If you haven’t seen Apology Tour and don’t want to be spoiled please do not read below the cut.

One thing I was previously was concerned about happening in Apology Tour was Stolas going on stage to sing to all of Hell how terrible Blitz is….and while Verosika certainly pressured him…he still in the end got on stage and sang about Blitz and ending with he sucks. And the whole setup is far worse than I initially thought. Verosika is throwing a party devoted to how terrible a person Blitz is and….sorry Verosika fans but that is so beyond fucked up of her.

I’m not saying she can hurt but throwing a party devoted to hating Blitz is toxic as ever loving fuck. And the show does not seem to want to address this, instead focusing on making her only the sad uwu victim of Blitz who is the worst and totes deserves this emotional beatdown, which has gotten to the point of being viscerally uncomfortable to watch.

The show wants us to see Blitz is someone who has screwed up and needs to improve. Thats not a problem, thats fine and interesting even! But we’ve long since been there with Blitz. He screwed up with Fizz with Barbie and Verosika. He hurt them, and even if with Fizz (and likely Barbie) is was an accident he still hurt them, and with Verosika their relationship was seemingly originally a situation where they both fucked up big time that caused such anger towards each other. And it worked great. Verosika doing something bad doesn’t make what Blitz did okay and vice versa. But the show seems so determined to show Blitz “ruins lives” they swung into comically unrealistic portrayal of this.

Does the show really expect me to believe Blitz has left so many broken hearts a large mansion can be filled up every year? While also insisting since last year Stolas is the only new ex? While also having only shown Blitz hurting Verosika and Stolas at said insanely full party. It just does t work. It’s a very bizarre choice, especially since it could so easily be worked around to still, you know work? Stolas talks to himself about how crazy the party is, just have the person who overheard Stolas mention that most everyone their is their for Verosika and they do all the hate Blitz stuff because she’s famous and they want to enjoy the party with her or even Blitz is a great stand is for their own ex’s that hurt them. There can still be partners Blitz hurt in the past but it would bring it back to a far more believable realm if most of the party goers just want to hang out with Verosika. It could still work to really push Blitz towards a breakdown that seems to be coming because as someone with massive self hatred issues he would still look at this party and think “wow I’m such a piece of shit people I don’t even know hate me for existing” or something like that.

Focusing on Stolas for a second, my other fear I didn’t properly express also seems to be happening in that the show seems to be trying to retcon Stolas’s mistakes regarding Blitz. Blitz mentions that Stolas looks down on Blitz and Stolas asks when has he ever looked down on Blitz and Blitz….doesn’t call out for example Stolas calling Blitz his “impish little plaything”, it’s just brushed right past as if it never happened which has me worried a lot of this stuff is being actively retconned which again takes away a lot of the interest of a story of two people who care but both fuck up because of their past traumas and instead wants to make it so only Blitz is a bad person and only Blitz screws up and Blitz is responsible for every bad thing happening.

Back to the party, the show wants us to believe Stolas loves Blitz but he still goes to a party all about hating Blitz, sings a song about him and hooks up with the first person who seems interested. From Blitz’s perspective I don’t see how he can believe Stolas loves and cares about him when he does things like this, to me the only thing it does is further confirm to Blitz that he doesn’t matter to Stolas, that he’s just an object to be bought as uses and discarded when they’re bored. And it’s gotten to the point where I think the torture and punishments being pushed onto Blitz is becoming cruel with no end in sight.

Hey, I’m the anon who sent you the Sarcastic Chorus video last week. I saw your response, and I largely agree. SC made a video on Apology Tour which I personally enjoyed (I doubt you’d like it because it’s much lighter in its criticisms of Stolas than the last one was). However, he does say something you might enjoy, which is basically that his video on Full Moon was the “nice draft” and that if the show doesn’t actually address Stolas’s failings in the relationship then he’s going to rip into Stolas.

I’m just glad there’s at least one large creator criticising Stolas, even if he’s going easy on him.

Will say this is obviously more centred on Stolas's side of this BUT Blitz will also have his changes. I just think here Stolas is the one with the worse writing even it comes to the conflict of their relationship which is why focus is on him first (wow just like the show /HJ)

Like I did with Hazbin on my main blog partially, I'm starting to think of ways I'd rewrite Helluva Boss and specifically focusing in Stolas and Blitz, and trying to make it an actual arc that makes sense with the character beats and development.

Something I think really hinders Stoltiz from truly being something that people could actually get there backs on is:

· The development of Stolas's feelings towards Blitz is way too fast, and out of nowhere. For example: in LooLoo land, Stolas has almost no interested in Blitz besides sexual interest (from what I remember it's been a while since I've seen it). But it's weird for me, since he's acting this way when we've seen how basically he's always had a crush on Blitz. So him purely acting this way at first and then slowly it getting basically retconed (thanks Vivzie) is really weird to me.

· Everything is about STOLAS. Tell me when we've ever gotten a genuine look, into Blitz thoughts about this agreement. Besides one off jokes, and basically Truth Seekers, Full Moon and Apology Tour (if you ignore Stolas's whining). We only get to see how Blitz feels in STOLAS'S PERSPECTIVE during major moments. We never really get to have a moment where Blitz is truly contemplating Stolas. I hope this part makes sense.

So, from these two points and a few smaller things, like Stolas being this sappy, "good" royal from the start who if ever called out for his actions, the show basically tries to frame it as non-serious as it can cause it's from "villains" or people who "misunderstood", here's kinda the basics of what I've come up with, for rewriting Stoltiz:

Stolas and Blitz don't meet when they were children, we don't have that emotional connection between them at all from the start, and the simple bases is that Blitz one night sneaks the Grimorie, and Stolas in a drunken stooper fails to catch Blitz with the book before he's run off

That doesn't mean Blitz is off the hook though, as Stolas finds him, and instead of killing him as he normally would go a "foolish imp" who tried to really steal his most prized possession. He instead offers a deal to Blitz, which he consents to begrudgingly and they seal it in a handshake, where if the dues are broken with no word as to why the full moon meeting was missed, or any other reasons from either parties side, it's broken off, with the Grimorie going back to Stolas, and Blitz to never step foot in his home again.

Reason why he even let's Blitz live? Well he sees here he has an imp he finds cute wanting to trade something for the Grimorie for a business. Perhaps he thinks he's being so generous and kind giving someone lower than him an opportunity to rise. Or perhaps it involves getting back at Stella in some way by actively cheating on her in their own bed, a horrible thing, which he has little thought of being so horrible. It really depends, it could be both.

Stolas here is explicitly morally dubious/very grey at "best" or an antagonist at worse here from the start. In this he was once a sweet child who soon was expected to fit the form of your petty, selfish, and horrid prince, who became who he was fully. Inside he knows what he is doing is horrible, that he shouldn't treat people the way he does, but doesn't properly have the facilities to change, and no active reason to change, besides for Octavia. But even he's too ignorant to really see it as more than "the common mistakes a parent makes their first time around".

While he is abused by Stella, it's not as if he's completely innocent himself, and Stella in this case isn't overly cartoonishly evil. And while he loves Octavia and tries to make their home life the best for her, he's ignorant to her needs, and not just one episode at LuLu Land is going to "fix" it all as mentioned earlier.

From this point in it's kinda difficult for me to think about how this would turn into an "actual relationship"??? I was thinking of something like this:

basically Blitz during different episodes that involve him and Stolas directly causes Stolas to began rethinking many of his actions, and his prejudice/so far as racism to the other races of hell that are deemed lower than him. These ideas, that are also perpetuated by Octavia, and in episodes such as Ozzie's, begin to change him, begin to make him realize how much of a fuck head he's been.

This is when Stolas begins to try to fix what he's done, he talks to Asmodeus about these things, he tries to have a serious chat with Stella, apologizes for his cheating but knows he's gone to far to really fix anything. They decide on divorce, and Asmodeus mentions the crystal. Not as a way out for Stolas, to excuse himself from using what's more than just an Imp, but a person. But, as a way to let Blitz have a choice, a proper choice, on what he wants to do.

Full Moon happens, but this time, Stolas doesn't beat around the bush, he tells Blitz full out in text that it's important they have a proper talk, and Stolas explains it out front without making Blitz begin to beg on his knees, saying he'll do anything before presenting the crystal (that scene makes me SEETHE). He presents the crystal, explains his reasoning, and what Blitz has helped him realize about himself. That he's an extremely flawed and horrible person, who needs time to really think about who he's become, but knows he doesn't want to keep Blitz trapped. And Blitz then takes the crystal.

Thought it doesn't stop their communication, basically you'd see any following episodes featuring Stolas slowly showing him fully developing into a better person. I feel like him and Blitz though a series of events would become more like friends if anything, they'd help each other with their own struggle. Maybe they'd never be good for each other even, but they're healing.

That's kinda all, MAYBE IT WAS, PRETTY SAPPY, you see I really just wish, this could work, that the writing was ok in some fashion. Hell maybe my version of it makes it worse, doesn't make Stolas less borderline if not rapey than he is, but if anything I wanted this version of their arc to show Stolas actually CHANGING as a person due to his ACTIONS EFFECTING OTHERS and being called out for it. First thing I'll properly post is this rant I wrote in discord when first watching season 2 episode 9. And I still agree with it obviously. I just find it so fucking funny how the first literally mintues of the episode are written so horribly after what happened in episode 8 (I fucking hate episode 8 so much), becuase Stolas does not desevere to be petty, he doesn't desevere to be angry at ALL!!!!!! LIKE DUDE

Stolas, you didn't let Blitz have a single fucking word in after he thought you were fucking with him, you didn't let Blitz have a single fucking thought and instantly went "oh he doesn't love me BOOHOO" LET HIM TALK!!!!! ASSHOLE!!!!! GIVE HIM A FUCKING MINTUE!!!!!! SO IT JUST MAKES HIM BEING SO PETTY SEEM SO OUT OF PLACE

Genuinely, I thought to myself "for Stolas to be acting this way, Blitz would have had to done something genuinely horrible, absolutely vile". But no, Stolas is literally acting this way just cause last episode Blitz called him out a "bit too harshly" even though it was a taste of fucking reality for Stolas.

The thing is, I don't even hate Stolas fully, I'm just so fucking sad about what he could've been. Even as a villian, or not, we needed more reason to care about someone who already has everything, cause these pity parties never helped. And like, this episode highlights it even more, cause the stupid ass talk Blitz and Stolas had at the party, I actually liked, because of the potential dynamic we had between them

I think in that moment to me, it felt like the first time Stolas was actually talking to Blitz like he was a god damn, real person. Before it felt like he was living a fairytale, that Blitz was just another part of his happy ending. Which I'm sure is how he actually felt in his mind. But seeing them actually talk, like maybe FRIENDS would, it actually made me cry from how mad I was about this shows writing all in all.

IK this is a bit all over the place, I just wish someone else were writing this show, Jesus Christ

Things stolas has a right to be mad about with blitzo: Asking him out to Ozzys under false pretenses imagine a guy you crush on asking you out to spy ON OTHER PEOPLE, ouch.

Blitzo: not bothering to even visit him at the hostipal after the whole kidnapping stuff. if it were me I'd have figured welp he aint into me goodbye forever.

things stolas is wrong to be mad at blitzo for: making it all about sex. Buddy thats on you it will always be on you, the show really needs to awknoweldge how much you made it about sex and not blitzo.. i feel that im being gaslit here. there ae actual incidents they can use for drama and they throw it away

Hello!!! Welcome to my rant blog!!!

Here is where I, Pebble or Mole will rant about shows I like or general media, since I do a lot of it and want a place to keep my stuff!! Since this is just a side blog all likes are gonna be from my main blog anyways, but if anyone really needs to know it I'll link it if asked

Out of any shows I'll probably be talking about Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss the most, but I will have other shows. Not sure yet depends on what I watch JWBJEJWD

Some may be positive, some maybe negative, I like to try to view shows with an open eye most of the time, and even for shows where I dislike a majority of the writing I may always mention 1 or 2 ideas I liked for example

My basic rules are:

· I'm fine with people sending criticism of any of my opinions as long as it's respectful, I'm always open to seeing where I could've missed something or been rude

· While I'm fine with people shipping what they want (basically as long as it isn't pedophilia or incest or worse like said below), I DON'T want people who identify as comship or any other type of really dark ships that involve incest, pedophilia, or abuse. You can do what you want but don't bring that to me, I find it gross even if it's "fiction"

· this blog will be very on and off, and like I said, I might say some positive things about Hazbin or Helluva since there are still things I genuinely enjoy about that show, so if you want a rant blog that'll be purely negative then don't expect it here!!!

I finally wanted to say I don't like Vivziepop at all, people can change but she's said basically nothing at all about any of the shit she lets her fans do or even her questionable past and present actions. I also think, she's a terrible writer!!! And won't be afraid to say so!!! She has some glimmers or hope but it's mostly down hill from there
