Mousepaw's littermate!
Pidgeonswipe, 14 moons old, is the newest warrior of StarlingClan and already shows himself to be an important hunter for the Clan. He's a swift young tom, using his endurance and speed to chase down prey in the underbrush. He isn't afraid to take risks, which often leadas him straight into trouble; but he's also clever, and usually manages to get out with... Minimal damage. Pidgeonswipe has a habit of being dramatic; both having theatrical bouts of overexaggeration, to making a complete mountain of out of molehill.

Mousepaw's parents; Cricketstar and Glowbug!
Cricketstar, 52 moons, is the newest leader of StarlingClan. Cricketstar feels a bit inadequate for the leadership position, considering lack of long-term deputy experince. He hides this under his usual, cheery personality and talkative additude; avoiding answering serious questions by yapping away for hours and hours. While he usually runs his desisions by his Clan before acting, Cricketstar is very doting over his daughter and son and often makes rash choices when it involves his kits.
Glowbug, 50 moons, is a fierce StarlingClan warrior who serves her clan with tooth and claw. She is heavily opinionated, especially about SlitherClan cats. She is extremely driven, often being the first warrior to leap into action to solve any given problem. Glowbug cares for her children very deeply, having high hopes for their futures - but her idea of who she wants her kits to grow up and be seems to constantly clash with the reality of the situation the Clans are in.

Our protagonists! Mousepaw being the main POV. Mousepaw, fourteen moons old, is a former warrior apprentice, who longed to be a medic since she was a kit. Being born after the disappearance of the moon, and StarClan following that, her uncle Feathertoss - StarlingClan's medic, takes her in as an apprentice when she was ten moons old. She is considered odd by most of her Clanmates due to her reclusive personality, blunt way of speaking and obsessive dedication to her role as medic. When Feathertoss suddenly drowns, Mousepaw is left as StarlingClan's medic.
Meanwhile Moonpaw, sixteen moons old, is the medic apprentice of SlitherClan - discovered shortly after the moon disapeared as a lone kit, she was named Moonkit due to her unique appearance and considered a good luck charm to the clan; adopted by a pair of toms named Tangledfur and Smallfang. This reputation led to their medic, Viperclaw, to choose Moonpaw to become her apprentice. Moonpaw is a gentle, softspoken shecat who means ever word she says - to the dismay of some of her Clanmates. She tends to let her mind wander, and often butts into conversations without warning.

𓆙SlitherClan𓆙
honor and independance
Tumblr media
In a mossy pine forest south of the Splitting River, SlitherClan's territory is lush with moss and pine. In an area that gets a lot of sunlight by day, SlitherClan cats often hunt at night - hiding in plain sight before ambushing their prey silently. The dampness of the territory leads to a lot of moss growth, which SlitherClan uses to disguise their scent by rolling the strong, damp smell. SlitherClan is a clan of cats who are very open together, airing out any problems in public. They often use group discussions as a means of solving problems, with Clan Meetings being called by not just the Leader, but their Deputy and Medics as well.
Tumblr media
- SlitherClan is active in the evening and night, sleeping through the early morning and daytime. - SlitherClan often eats small mammals, lizards and amphibians. - SlitherClan cats often hunt to eat, rather than hunting to store food, as the damp territory causes prey to spoil faster. Rule four of the Warrior Code is still followed. - SlitherClan cats don't often see outsiders and approach them with quiet caution rather than aggression. - SlitherClan's first leader was named Hazelstar. - SlitherClan is often antagonized by venomous snakes and birds of prey.
♡ Relationships with Other Clans ♡
StarlingClan | Rival Clan ★☆☆☆☆ StarlingClan had always brought up during Clan Meetings, some way or some how. SlitherClan has always been wary of StarlingClan, often getting very defensive when they're accused of something by StarlingClan. They had never been afraid to antagonize their neighbors back, either. Threatening to take the Splitting River for themselves if StarlingClan did not take back their accusation. Ever since the vanishing of the moon, SlitherClan hasn't talked much about StarlingClan. Most cats choose to intentionally avoid the Splitting River during the final dawn patrol before sleeping, as to avoid the possibility of encountering an early StarlingClan patrol.
StarClan | Warrior Ancestors ★★★☆☆ Due to SlitherClan's open nature and occasional acceptance of loners and kittypets, there has always been a presense of cats in their ranks who do not feel strongly about, or even feel quite negatively towards, StarClan. While SlitherClan always relied on them in times of need, they'd often attempt to solve the problems themselves first - for better or for worse. Ever since the moon dissapeared, theres been a lot of questions thrown around in SlitherClan. Cats have been disucssing the Clans as a whole more than ever. Some have even wondered if StarClan was ever real in the first place.

𓆩StarlingClan𓆪
bravery & respect
Tumblr media
Located in a dense oak woods north of the Splitting River, StarlingClan's territory is full of greenery and high places to climb. Despite a territory with multiple rocky drop offs and bunched together trees that are easy to climb and walk across, StarlingClan cats often stalk and pounce on their prey, occasionally dropping from trees on top of unsuspecting targets. StarlingClan cats are a strict group of cats who strongly beleive in StarClan and the warrior code. They're raised to respect their elders and look to those who are beleived to know better. They often turn to their Medic in times of turmoil, or during infighting.
Tumblr media
- StarlingClan is active in the morning and afternoon, sleeping through the late evening and night. - StarlingClan often eats rodents and birds, most StarlingClan cats favour squirrels and moles. -  StarlingClan cats often go out hunting in pairs, rather than large patrols. - When travelling from the northernmost twoleg place, loners and kittypets often find StarlingClan territory before SlitherClan. - StarlingClan's first leader was named Sproutstar. - StarlingClan is most often antagonized by foxes and coyotes.
♡ Relationships with Other Clans ♡
SlitherClan | Rival Clan ★☆☆☆☆ StarlingClan's view on SlitherClan has fluxtuated throughout the years, but they have always been somewhat standoffish towards their pine-forest neighbors. Up until the final gathering, they had been accusing SlitherClan of tresspassing on their territory by hunting from the Splitting River. StarlingClan as a whole isn't upset about no longer being able to meet with SlitherClan under the full moon, however a small group of cats are concerned that the growing isolation of StarlingClan could become a problem.
StarClan | Warrior Ancestors ★★★★☆ StarlingClan had always strongly upheld the warrior code, with deep beleifs in StarClan and a strict moral code. StarlingClan cats would often turn to their medics and StarClan during harsh times. After the dissapearance of the moon and being cut off from their ancestors, StarlingClan cats have struggled to figure out why StarClan has vanished, a good few choosing to beleive that it is a test of faith and pushing others to continue as normal.

🕮Clan Lore🕮
Tumblr media
× History Summary ×
Long, long ago, felines had no direction in life. They either died trying to survive, or turned their freedom away for the safety of Twolegs. While cats would often form small groups, they were quickly torn apart by a lack of loyalties and connections - that is what the shared legends of StarlingClan and SlitherClan's creation states. However, these cats were being watched by something greater than them, The Moon. The Moon is a soft being, and seeing its favorite creatures tearing eachother apart filled it with pity. In death, as cats spirits were torn from their bodies, they were destined to fade into nothing. The Moon decided to give some cats a second life, giving cats the unique ability to become spirits once they die.
The cats who had strong wills, and those who respected the earth greatly were given the ability to become spirits that walk among the living. At times, The Moon would give living cats a fraction of its power, granting them abilities others do not have, for no particular reason. However, The Moon especially favored those few wild cats who looked to the sky and stars for answers. Those cats, who showed qualities of greatness, were brought into the sky as silverpelt spirits. Granted mysterious powers beyond even the spirits on the earth, and even receiving messages from The Moon itself. One of these messages whispered of gathering these cats who look to the sky, the silverpelt spirits saw visions of cats The Moon wanted to gather. Upon receiving this message, the silverpelt spirits searched for these cats - guided by their longing for something more.
These cats that looked to the sky were guided from near and far, to a forest split in half by a river. The north of the river, a dense oak forest with thick underbrush and rocky lands. The south, a damp pine forest with tall trees and mossy caverns. From there, StarlingClan and SlitherClan would be formed. Guided by both The Moon, and the silverpelt spirits - now known as StarClan, to be Warriors in life and death. When a Warrior dies, having been loyal to StarClan, they join them in Silverpelt. However, if a Warrior is to reject StarClan, committing heinous crimes against those around them, they are cast into the Dark Forest - where The Moon does not shine, and only hate and fear fuels a spirits power.
Though with two Clans, and a relationship between them that often fluctuates, a divide is bound to happen - one deeper than the Splitting River that divides their territory. StarlingClan, with their dense underbrush and growing love for sunshine, began to sleep through the nights and work through the day. SlitherClan, in their more open territory, relies on the cover of night to properly hunt prey, leading them to sleep through the morning instead. Aside from mandatory interactions during the full moon, when StarClan was said to be at its strongest and most watchful, did they gather. But as generations and generations of warriors lived and died, a divide within StarClan itself began to form. A blood division. Two groups began to form, separated by StarlingClan spirits and SlitherClan spirits. They often antagonized each other, riling eachother up to the point of encouraging isolation among the living Clans. Driving cats into starvation, war and disease.
While at first, The Moon did nothing, it slowly became angrier and angrier with StarClan. Watching those intended to bring peace to living cats instead tearing them apart enraged The Moon to the point of punishing StarClan, and in turn, the living Clans. As during a gathering many years into the wars, as an argument among the two clans nearly bubbled into battle - The Moon suddenly vanished from the sky. Without The Moon, StarClan slowly began to lose contact with the living Clans. Within a few moons after the gathering, StarClan had completely lost contact with even the medics.
Freshly left without StarClan, the two Clans try to continue the motions of life, unknowing of what will happen next. And after the sudden and tragic death of StarlingClan's medic, the Clan is left to rely on a young, half-trained apprentice -- Mousepaw.
Codes and Rules
彡The Warrior Code彡
Over the many moons of the Clans existence, a code of conduct shortly began to form under the guidance of StarClan,  many leaders, battles and hardships. This code is to be followed by every cat in the clan, lest they face punishment from their leader - or StarClan. This is that Code.
1. Defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life. 2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory. 3. A cat cannot take a mate from another Clan. 4. Elders, queens, kits and the ill are fed before all other Clan members. Warriors and apprentices are only to eat when their duties are finished, or otherwise designated times. 5. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life. 6. A kit must be at least 6 moons of age to become an apprentice. 7. Newly appointed warriors will hold a silent vigil the night of their naming ceremony. 8. A cat cannot be made deputy without mentoring at least one apprentice. 9. The deputy will become Clan leader once the previous one dies, retires or can no longer lead. 10. After the death, retirement, promotion or exile of the deputy, a new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh. 11. In the event of there being no Clan leader or deputy, the clan Medic will temporarily step in until a new leader is found. 12. A gathering of the Clans is held during every full moon. As long as the full moon is visible in the sky, there is a truce among the Clans where no fighting will occur. 13. Borders must be checked and marked daily. Question all tresspassers. 14. No cat can neglect a queen or kit who is injured, endangered or lost, even if the queen or kit is an outsider. A warrior may never harm a nursing queen, pregnant queen, or kits in or out of battle. 15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
✿The Medic's Oath✿
While a clan medic swears to the Warrior Code, they have their own set of unique rules they also must follow. In the case of conflicting rules, the Medic's Oath overrides any rule in the Warrior Code. 1. Defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life. 2. A medic cannot take a mate. 3. A medic cannot have kits. 4. A medic is not bound by borders or rivalries, a medic may cross borders for herb gathering, travelling, or assisting an injured cat. 5. A medic cannot reject an injured cat, no matter their Clan affiliation or lack of and must do everything in their power to save them. 6. Every half-moon, medics gather at the Moon Shards to share tongues with StarClan. No unpermitted cats may be present at this meeting. 7. A warrior make choose the path of a medic, but once sworn to oath a medic cannot become a warrior. 8. If the life of the medic or the Clan is in imminent danger, a medic must take an apprentice. 9. A medic may not retire unless physically unable to continue their duties. 10. A medic may only share dreams with StarClan.
𖠰 Neutral Territory Locations 𖠰
Throughout both Clan's territory, there are multiple places considered almost "neutral", or belonging to both of the Clans. These spots typically have some kind of historical, or religious significance to the Clans. In theory, both Clans would fight off any threat to their neutral territories together.
Tumblr media
The Meeting Stone | Gathering Place Every full moon, StarlingClan and SlitherClan gathered to commune at the Meeting Stone. While the everlasting cat scent has driven off most prey, cats often use it as an undisclosed meeting space beyond the full moon gatherings. It is on StarlingClan's side of the border, but not considered their territory. Ever since the moon vanished, the Clans have not gathered.
Tumblr media
The Moon Shards | StarClan Portal Following a small pathway beyond the Meeting Stone, one would find reflective, ice-like shards that cut flesh easier than claws. Said to be shards of the moon itself, that fell to the ground long before the Clan's arrived. Every half moon, the shards glow with an eerie light - when a clancat sleeps nearby these shards, typically medics, they can share tongues with StarClan much easier than if communing through dreams or omens.

The Splitting River | Clan Watersource Running straight through the middle of both Clan's territory, the Splitting River acts as the main and only border between StarlingClan and SlitherClan. Despite this, neither StarlingClan or SlitherClan owns the river itself, due to the agreed importance of water and fish as an emegency resource. At times, two patrols at dusk or dawn meet at this border, collecting water for the Clan at the same time.

This blog is centered around a mid-development warrior cats original story called The Mouse of The Moon! I (he/him, @seekingdecay) started working on it just about a year ago, and am hoping to get the first chapter out by the end of 2025, or the beginning of 2026! It's planned to be a lightly multimedia comic prose story featuring words, art, animation and more. Blog Navigation:
