Shifting realisation
I came to a realisation that parallels shifting, which I wanted to share.
Recently, I have been very busy, but I've been trying to balance work with happiness. I'm aware about how the brain works, and how it needs a range of different types of activities and stimulation in a day to function effectively, instead of just working on the same thing, in the same way.
I started to stress about how I was going to do this and fit all of these activities in. It felt like slotting in all the pieces of a one thousand piece jigsaw on a timer.
The interesting part was, I've never had this issue before. My mind naturally tells me what it wants in the form of my desires. It wants colouring, it craves food, the outside, daydreaming, music, etc. But when I started planning it, trying to force everything in to make sure it was at its best, it actually started to do the opposite. (Bear with me, I promise this is about shifting).
I found it difficult to relax, and because of this high stress and worrying about how I was going to do all these things, it actually made it worse. I began to struggle to function more, forgetting things easily, and a fun task became more like a chore. I tried to make it natural, as it normally would be, but regardless I still struggled.
What would normally come naturally has been made worse by focusing too much attention and stress and organisation where it isn't needed. And it's exactly the same for shifting.
People force things, make sure everything is exactly how they think it needs to be, worry about making everything perfect. They try to do it "naturally", but ultimately they are still behind the curtains attempting to shuffle all the little pieces in the perfect way that will make them shift.
We need to remember that shifting truly is natural. You don't need to worry about "fitting everything in" to your methods, or doing it all in or at a certain time . You don't need to work yourself up over the smallest details because you're worried about the effect they'll have on your shift.
It doesn't matter.
Shifting is just as natural as the scenario I described. You don't need to problem-solve every single step. You don't need steps at all, no rules, no guidelines. Just go where your heart takes you, do whatever you want, however you want.

i know all of us shifters have thought about this before but sometimes I feel like we forget how CRAZY this whole thing is. like what do you mean I can actually live in another universe, experiencing things I would have never DARED to dream of. what do you mean. I can literally have anything I want; I can have it all. I don't understand why I forget that. magic is everywhere and I wish I could show it to everyone

Agree. Sexuality from a societal perspective has been distorted and polluted and twisted. We have distanced ourselves so greatly from the pleasures of life that even things such as sex have become incredibly taboo topics. Sexuality is an integral part of human identity. Not to mention its role in many forms of human expression, such as art, music, etc. This new purity culture when it comes to sexuality, and unnecessary shame for exploring it or using it spiritually, is incredibly damaging.
What's the "O method"?
NSFW subject warning
Okay I saw people here talking about this method, looked it up on tiktok, and thought I'd explain for anyone who doesn't have tiktok.
The O method has been a manifestation method for some time, and now people are using it to shift as well! The method is to jork it and state your desire right before you orgasm. Shifters talk about starting a shift during the euphoric high that's experienced post-nut, or to manifest a shift during this state.
My personal opinion: Though sexuality is often a taboo subject, I think it's a really valuable part of spirituality that often gets ignored. So fuck it, I'm posting about manifestation jorking.

(Also if this doesn't sound like a method you'd be comfortable with, please do not force yourself to do this method. Just thought this would be of interest to my fellow unhinged S/O yearners)

What to do if manifesting isn't working.
If you're continuing to read this, I can only assume that you've been trying to manifest something recently, and it doesn't appear to be working. Maybe you're frustrated, or maybe you're just confused. Or maybe, most likely, you're both.
You may be assuming that it's already yours; you may have been confident that it's already yours. But it STILL doesn't seem to be happening? Right?
What you need to understand is that you already have it.
Did that frustrate you? Have you heard that a thousand times before? Good.
It's the truth. Whatever it is you're manifesting, whether it's a new car, good grades, or even just a lollipop, is already yours.
"But why isn't it appearing?'"
Because you are relying too much on the 3D.
The 3D is not reality. You don't need to depend on what you see around you. You don't need to rely on what your brain is telling you is happening. If you want something, and you're manifesting it, it is already there. Assume it is already there. Persist in the knowledge that it is already yours.
You may doubt me, you may think I'm only regurgitating the words of others on this site. Perhaps you've already seen posts like this, telling you to ignore the 3D and focus on your desire. Perhaps you think they're lying too, or manifesting just comes easy to them.
But believe it or not: you aren't special.
Many people on this site that now manifest successfully, shift successfully (etc) have been in the exact same position as you. Struggling to let go, depending too heavily on what the 3D shows them. Myself included.
My advice to you is simply to persist. Each time you catch yourself watching for your desire in the 3D, remind yourself that the 3D doesn't matter. It doesn't determine what is already yours. Keep persisting in your desire, and the 3D will have no choice but to reflect it.
You are reality. Not what's happening around you, not the universe. You.

Shifting has made me realize how much I really want to live. I actually want to do so much. I want to know worlds and instruments and languages and people and careers. I want to experience everything over and over and over again
And after all, it's really possible

THE "VOID STATE"
Tumblr media
What is the Void State?
The void state, aka pure consciousness or the "I am" state, is simply you being your true, original self: pure consciousness, nothing more. It’s not a magical place. It’s your natural state, your home, where you always return because it’s what you are.
You are pure consciousness, an energy experiencing the universe. Right now, you’re in a physical body with a name, experiencing senses like touch, smell, sight, taste, and hearing. But in the void state, none of that exists. There’s no body, no mind, no thoughts, emotions, beliefs, traumas, or labels. It’s just you: pure consciousness, existing. You’re simply you in your natural state.
This isn’t strange or special. When you’re not playing the role of a human, you’re just consciousness. There’s nothing more “you” than this state.
The void state or pure consciousness is NOT:
• SATS
• Falling asleep
• Meditating
• Floating in nothingness
• Having a sleeping body and an awake mind
• Being in theta, beta, or gamma states
• Deep relaxation
• A manifestation method
• A transition from conscious to subconscious mind
• The center of your mind
All of the above are completely incorrect. The void state is simply BEING consciousness. You’re not floating, you’re not in a place, you’re not asleep, you’re not meditating, you’re not in nothingness—you’re just consciousness.
What is the void for? What are the benefits?
• You fully connect with who you’ve always been.
• Absolute peace.
• You can manifest anything instantly.
Examples of things you can manifest:
• Eliminate depression, anxiety, or any mental disorder.
• Change your past.
• Change your appearance.
• Alter your genetics.
• Manifest waking up in this state every night.
• Manifest your future.
• Shift instantly to another reality.
• Have lucid dreams.
• A magical notebook where everything you write comes true.
• A magic word for manifesting or shifting.
As you can see, these are things you might never have imagined you could manifest. And as mentioned, anything you manifest in this state happens instantly. When you return to 3D awareness, you’ll see it. If it didn’t manifest, you weren’t in the void. You can’t fail in this state—your beliefs or assumptions don’t matter. If you truly entered this state, what you manifested is guaranteed to happen.
Why is manifestation instant in this state?
Because in this state, there’s no separation between you and what you desire. There’s no body, no mind, no time, no beliefs, no expectations, no limitations, no blocks, no resistance. It’s just you: pure consciousness, being.
In everyday reality, when we manifest, we do so from the mind, from an identity that believes it “needs something” or that “it will be reflected soon.” This creates separation: you here, your desire there. That distance creates the “process” or “waiting time” because you see it as something to achieve, something separate from you.
But in the void, there’s no distance. There’s no doubting mind, no beliefs, no resistance, no mental filters—nothing interferes. It’s just consciousness. The moment you decide, affirm, or desire something, it becomes part of you. You don’t attract it or wait for it—you ARE it. And by being it, it manifests. What you say and what you are become one.
Main characteristics of this state:
• No sight, hearing, smell, touch, or taste.
• No labels, nothing has form or definition.
• No traumas.
• No time—no past, present, or future.
• No body.
• No emotions.
• Only peace, calm, and neutrality—not because you feel “good” or “happy,” but because you simply ARE, and nothing is missing.
Is it dangerous?
No.
What does pure consciousness look like?
It doesn’t “look” like anything. You have no eyes, you’re not anywhere, there’s nothing to see—you’re just consciousness. This scares some people. But if you want, you can visualize landscapes or galaxies.
How do I know if I’ve reached it?
You’ll know the moment you enter because you’ll have none of your five senses and feel absolute peace. Don’t worry about not noticing—it’s unmistakable.
How do I manifest in this state?
You can manifest by affirming, visualizing, deciding, thinking, or simply desiring something. For example, to change your eye color, you could say: “My eyes are green.” And that’s it.
So, how do you “enter” in this state?
You don’t “enter” it because you’re already there. You simply stop paying attention to everything else: the world, your body, your worries. It’s like watching TV and lowering the volume to hear silence. The silence was always there—you just had to turn down the noise.
How do I put this into practice?
Focus on being aware that you exist, without adding anything to it. Do this in a way that works for you.
Think about how you learn or enjoy daily activities. Are you a visual, auditory, writing, or tactile learner? What resonates with you? What works?
• Visual: Did you learn best with mind maps, diagrams, or imagining lessons as stories?
Methods: Visualization, imagination, creating scenarios.
• Auditory: Did you learn by listening to explanations, recording lectures, debating, or memorizing out loud?
Methods: Subliminals, affirmations, affirmation tapes, inner dialogue.
• Writing: Did you benefit from detailed notes, summaries, or lists to organize your studies?
Methods: Scripting, journaling.
• Physical: Did you focus better by highlighting books, using flashcards, or moving while studying?
Methods: Meditations, tapping.
There’s no “right” way, and you can use more than one.
My favorite method: The Law of Assumption
It’s not a method per se, but it’s essential and won’t fail you.
What is the Law of Assumption?
Whatever you assume to be true or false is reflected in your reality.
How to assume?
You can assume by visualizing, imagining, deciding, thinking, acknowledging, saying, accepting, or affirming that something is true or that you already have it.
How to manifest?
• Choose your desire.
• Assume it’s already yours.
• Done—it’s yours.
To apply it to the void state, simply assume you’ve already entered, that you enter every night, that saying a phrase gets you there, or that affirming once is enough—whatever you want.
After assuming, stay firm in it. Keep choosing thoughts aligned with your assumption and don’t contradict it. You’ve already succeeded—don’t betray yourself by thinking otherwise.
Inducing this state is easy. It’s as natural as sleeping, breathing, or your heartbeat. One reason people don’t achieve it is because they overthink it.
When you understand that pure consciousness is literally just being conscious, you’ll see that complicating it is pointless.
What if I don’t succeed?
Don’t overcomplicate it. People don’t “enter” because they think it’s super complex, like learning to fly. But it’s as natural as sleeping or breathing.
Overthinking creates resistance. Think of it like floating in a pool: relax, and you float; tense up, and you sink.
You don’t have to follow anyone else’s steps or fit into a method. They’re just ideas to find what you enjoy.
If you prefer sitting with your eyes open and listening to music, do it. If you like imagining while listening to rain, great. The key is to stop looking outside and focus inward on what works for you.
It’s your home. You don’t have to “go” there because you never left.
So, relax and try it your way. It’s like being a kid and playing without rules.
The next time you hear “void state” or “pure consciousness,” remember it’s not a place, a ritual, or a method. It’s your natural state, before any thought or identity. Just consciousness. Just you.
And when you recognize yourself as that consciousness, there’s nothing you can’t be, have, or experience. Not because you found a cosmic “trick” or universal secret, but because you’ve always created your life. Now you know it.
There’s no right or wrong way—only what feels natural to you.
It’s not about doing it "correctly"; it’s about being.
You are consciousness. You already know how to return to yourself. Trust that.
The most important thing is to do what truly feels good to you, not just copy what others do.

It's strange to think how, only a few years ago, I probably would have been a permashifter. Maybe I would have come back very occasionally to see the people I missed, but more than likely, I wouldn't even have shifted to a "better cr". Because I hated this place, full stop.
Nowadays, I see the beauty of this reality even without shifting to a "better cr". Every time I shift, I'll be more than willing to return when I've temporarily finished exploring. And with me, I'll bring back advice, stories, and a renewed appreciation for everything I have in this life.
Maybe it's because the sun has started rising earlier, and everywhere I look green smiles at me like a grateful servant. But somehow, everything seems so much prettier than it used to. All because I've come to realise that reality isn't fixed. It's not suffocating, it's not malicious, it hasn't been carved in an unbreakable stone; it reflects my every desire. If I wish it to.
My desire is happiness. So that's exactly what I have.

🌿 MY STAR TREK TRAVEL DR 💫
A more detailed introduction into one of my Star Trek DRs, as I've noticed Star Trek is a relatively uncommon place to shift to here.
I have two Star Trek DRs. In my main DR, I have a complex backstory on Omicron Theta. The canon event where Lore summons the crystalline entity happens there, and I don't see him again for decades, until we meet on the Enterprise.
However, in this dr, Lore does not summon the crystalline entity. It's a dr where I can presently experience my past in my main dr, and then a different branch stemming from it.
In this, we rennovate an old ship and explore the galaxy together. We grow together, see new worlds and explore planets (both inhabited and uninhabited). Lore is my s/o (if you hadn't already guessed).
Often, we don't stay in the ship, but camp on these planets. Sometimes, we don't even set up the tent, and I sleep beneath the open sky. Sometimes, he sleeps for a while too, but he often enjoys the different night skies instead.
It's mostly just a DR where I can explore the galaxy without limits, and can enjoy a life free from burden and structure. After all, that's what I most adore about shifting: the ability to experience.

♡Romanticising this reality♡
I've heard many many many people talk about not romanticising your dr. Personally, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it, as long as you aren't placing it on an unreachable pedestal.
In fact, my favourite thing to do to help me with this is to romanticise this reality. I like to imagine that, if I were shifting to this reality, which aspects of it would I appreciate?
I've started to appreciate the little things, enjoy even the most mundane of activities. I pause to watch the birds out of the window, and I sit beside the pond and watch the sun reflecting off the surface.
Appreciating life here has helped me to appreciate not only existence itself, but the joy that can be derived from every life I want to live. I shift to experience, and witness, and enjoy, and appreciate. And that means to seek those things not simply in other realities, but in this one too.
So, for as long as I'm not elsewhere, I will be here. My mind will wander to other places, but it will also focus itself on the beauty of this place. Every little joy will remind me of what there is to live for. Every season brings with it its own unique personality, which manifests itself in the cycle of the trees, and the contrast between new life and death.
And I will be there to observe it all, from any location I'd like to be, dreaming about the things that were, are, and could be. Not with a frown, but with a smile.

"I hate meditating" "Meditating is so boring"
But you want to use meditation to shift?
I've got you.
Definition of meditation I snagged from wikipedia because I'm a lazy bitch:
Meditation is a practice in which an individual uses a technique to train attention and awareness and detach from reflexive, "discursive thinking", achieving a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state, while not judging the meditation process itself.
There are a variety of different methods to meditate, but a lot of people seem to be stuck on the idea that you have to sit still somewhere and attempt to clear your mind in some dull and unexciting way.
*loud buzzer sound*
Meditation does not just have to be you sitting in your bed, sighing in boredom, trying to visualise the plant growing in the cardboard box. Meditation is simply anything that can coax your mind into a calm, focused state that doesn't choke you with a hundred different thought processes at once.
What does this mean?
It means that any activity that lures you into an attentive and absorbed state is...congratulations!...a form of meditation.
There are a few more obvious ones, such as colouring, casual reading, doodling...et cetera.
The possibilities are truly endless. If you find that swimming 5 miles helps to calm and focus your mind, do that. If staring at a wall and eating mini cheddars somehow helps you, do that.
Meditation does not have to be boring.
Thank you for your attention.

My favourite places to shift:
I don't really like to shift in my bed. I know this a popular environment to shift, and it was the sole environment for shifting that I used a few years ago. But nowadays, for whatever reason, shifting in my bed either makes me fall asleep (in the case that I don't want to) or makes me anxious.
Instead, there are a variety of different places that I prefer to shift from. My top 5 are:
1. In my garden:
Obviously, it goes without saying that I only shift here when it's sunny. I don't really like to get wet, but just being outside helps me to visualise better and gets rid of most feelings of anxiety.
2. In the car:
I haven't done this in a while, but the movement is also very calming. Put on headphones and listen to music/brown noise/rain and just let the movement guide you into that state.
3. On the sofa:
Don't often do this, but if I'm staying round another person's house and I'm sleeping on the sofa, I sometimes use it to shift. Someone advised me to attempt shifting in a different place to where you normally sleep a while ago, so this stems from that advice.
4. On a swing:
I'm not joking when I say this one is both relaxing and fun. Just don't jump off — trust me, it hurts. But the movement of the swing, and the fact you can adjust how high it goes, actually is really helpful for me.
5. And finally, a concealed outside environment:
Essentially, not in my garden, but somewhere else. If I'm going on a walk and I find a bush with a spacious inside that I could shift in, hidden away from the world. Or beneath a low hanging canopy beside the lake. Somewhere I know that I'm unlikely to be disturbed. And also, granted that it doesn't rain.
Feel free to take ideas. And remember, shifting has no rules. You can shift anywhere, at any time, doing absolutely anything.
