Mythril Blade Prompt: Roadhouse!

Description: Business has been since Ala Mhigo got back in the hands of her own people.  We’ve been seeing more trade caravans bound to Ul’dah and Horizon, and with them thirsty customers.  Some are too thirsty.  There’s a big set of caravans making their way through over the next fun suns and we could use an extra body just to keep an eye on things should the traders and their hired guards decide to get a little too rough.  Figured the Blade would have someone who wouldn’t mind a bit of bouncing work for some coin?

Objective: Keep trouble from brewing in Drybone Tavern. Outcome: While a the crowd was a bit too loud and boisterous for the drinking establishments’ usual tastes, there was little real trouble that evening, save for a bar fight that erupted between two miners bound for the Saltery.

The Mythril Blade Leve Prompt: These Tombs They Will Not Seal

Caithe could hear them well enough, despite their voices sounding like water dripping down a long tunnel. There was certainly more than one there, and while she couldn’t truly make out of the words, she had a distinct impression that they were gossiping about her work. The woman gave out a low tsk as she continued to paint the runic coding on the stone. The seal itself, now made from wood, lay off to the side, waiting to be empowered. It all looked distinctly aged; an added touch that would cost the nervous flit of a man even more.

“If you hate the work so much,” Caithe’s voice cut through the otherwise empty ruins, echoing against fallen stone pillars, “feel free to manifest.” The voices had stopped in a ripple, only to start up again seconds later. “No, by all means,” the shaman continued, dragging her small brush along the marks that had been set to the wall hundreds of years prior. It felt good to talk out loud, and it seemed to perturb the spirits residing within the ruins further. It also kept the pit in her stomach from leaping up to her throat. “Give me an excuse to see you gone from this place. Benevolence doesn’t suit you all.

You had every reason to scare the dimwit of an archaeologist off, and yet you stayed quiet for him. You’ll find no friendship in me.”

“It looks different than how you described them in your preliminary notes,” his boss droned before giving a sharp sniff, and straightening up from her bent look at the primary seal. “Do you not know the difference between wood and stone?”

The man’s mouth felt dry and he struggled to get out an answer from under the elezen’s steely gaze. “It… ah… I-I didn’t want to touch it to be certain. Y-y-you know how finicky these things can be.” He tried for a strained laugh, but neither his boss nor the other two in her tow deigned to voice in. He suddenly felt very small.

The elezen looked over the man once more, before turning her attention back to the seal. Finally, she gave a single nod. Her entourage quickly began setting up a small work station as the elezen pulled out a thick research book.

“Let’s get to work then.”

Shana Deftarm leaned against the rock, frowning and picking at a gloved knuckle. There was a different kind of tension in her shoulders; one that had her jerking to look over her shoulder at a cracking branch or snapped twig. She chewed at a lip, shaking her head and looking forward at the stables and the chocobos. “Gods-damned trees,” she grumbled half under her breath, the scowl pulling at her scar.

The Mythril Blade - Office of Odile Delacroix

This was fun to make. I especially enjoyed narrowing the entire room down to just one small office and an IC continuation of the normal hallway the FC boasts. I kinda like the idea that Odile’s office is at the very end of the crooked hallway, away from all the shenanigans and noise.
