10th May 2023-Lakeside and home
Pictures taken in this set: 1, 2 and 4. Views on my lunch time walk on the way to and at Lakeside, adorned by flowers with the sun coming out well on the walk. 3. Cattle at Lakeside. 5. Beautiful columbine by the visitor centre at Lakeside, the first I’ve seen this year. 6. Some of a fair bit of dashing red campion I saw on my walk today, one I always enjoy. 7. Some herb-Robert, part of an area that was covered in these bright and dainty woodland flowers. For a species I tend to see one flowers of at a time it was stunning to take in a sea of them. 8. Greylag Goose and goslings as they headed for the shore in a shower. 9. Wild garlic still going. 10. The tree out the back coming into nice green leaf in the evening sunlight.
On a brilliant flower walk I also enjoyed seeing my first ever greater celandine near the herb-Roberts, I was curious about them having known lesser celandine for a few years - I saw a few of these hanging on today too in the woods - and I had heard of greater celandine so it was so nice to see some. A member of the poppy family compared to the lesser celandine which is in the buttercup family, it was interesting to contrast these bright yellow beauties. Other highlights were various speedwell including possible wood speedwell which is a gorgeous pinky colour, cuckooflower, garlic mustard, red valerian, my first oxeye daisy seen outside of from the car this year, yellow iris, white deadnettle and hawthorn. Hearing loud Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming in the woods and the strong call of Chiffchaff, as well as seeing Great Crested Grebe, Canada Goose goslings, House Sparrow and Mallard ducklings were great moments. I was also thrilled to see my first Lakeside Holly Blue butterfly of the year flitting around as well as bright Brimstone and splendid Speckled Wood.

— 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐮𝐬𝐭 (𝘼𝙞𝙨 & 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧)
Tumblr media
𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨 Don’t go touching random plants.
𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜(𝙨) Sex pollen, threesome, skull fucking, riding, dom Ais, needy Leander, gn!Reader.
𝘼/𝙉 Someone asked and I’m glad I was able to deliver lol. I’m giggling at this. But eat up and MINORS DNI!
Hopefully I didn’t write these two too badly!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was only meant to be a hunt for herbs…
You and Leander had spotted Ais leaving Kuras’ clinic and the gang leader said he was grabbing some herbs the good doctor needed.
You offered a helping hand, and Leander had too much free time on his hands and happily tagged along.
“Alright, Sparrow, why don’t you look for sage. Let’s see how much you know,” Ais assigned to you with a simper.
“Sounds easy enough! I know what that looks like!” you reply confidently, striding off.
“And what about me?” Leander asks with his standard charming smile.
Ais flashes his teeth, looking at the Bloodhound leader with a raised brow. “Are you even familiar with herbs?”
“I’m a mage, Ais, of course I have some knowledge,” Leander says confidently, not bothered by the mocking.
“Fine. Fetch me valerian, echinacea, and clotsfoot,” Ais orders before walking off. He’s in charge of getting thyme, lavender, yarrow, and digitalis purpurea (the flower that reminds him of Vere).
You didn’t have to hunt long for the sage, picking enough for Kuras to have when suddenly an inviting smell comes to your nose.
It smelt of… Chocolate? Now that’s something new. You venture further, following the delightful scent until you come across pulsating, blue flowers all clustered together.
Now this was something! Flowers that smell like a sweet treat sounds wonderful! They’re so beautiful, and with each step you take the flowers seem to sway, as if dancing…
You get down on one knee and reach out to gently touch one of petals, soon leaning down to smell the flower a little more when there’s a sudden shout.
“Sparrow, get away from those!”
You flinch back and see Ais sprinting towards you.
“Wait why?!” you squawk, getting up, but it’s too late. Suddenly the flowers shoot out large streams of gas, your surroundings soon getting hazy.
And just your luck you trip.
“Shit!” Ais curses, diving into to get you.
You grip onto him but something seems to have your ankles hostage? You’re accidentally falling once more and taking Ais down with you.
“Leander, where the fuck are you?!” Ais barks out, trying to once again get you and now himself up off the ground.
Leander’s muscled form soon breaks in and he sends a blast of magic just a few spaces behind you both, burning the flowers to a crisp, and creepily enough you hear them actually screaming.
He hauls you and Ais further away before sending another blast of magic, not stopping until all the flowers are gone. Soon the fog slowly dissipates and bits of glowing green fire cling to the other flora, the fire soon dying as well.
“Shit,” Ais curses again, his chest heaving. He looks at you and your hardly able to stand, your eyes rapidly blinking.
Your skin feels tingly and you feel extremely flushed, your legs almost feeling numb.
“Yeah.. We better hurry somewhere other than here,” Leander mutters, his face red with blush.
“What… The hell was that?” you pant.
“That, Sparrow, was flower you most definitely shouldn’t have touched,” Ais huffs.
“Well no shit, Ais!” you gripe. “But are we gonna die!?”
“No,” replies both men.
“Those flowers are a natural aphrodisiac, but they’re very dangerous, especially if you don’t get rid of them,” Leander supplies with a nervous smile.
You blink once. Twice. “You’re fucking kidding?”
“‘Fraid not,” Ais mumbles.
And you’re not clueless to what that entails.
And that’s how you end up in this position.
Ais gripping your head as he drills his thick cock into your throat, his red eyes clouded with lust as he stares straight into your soul.
And Leander has your hips in a death grip as he braces his legs and fucks up into you desperately, lost in his own pleasure and the haze and greedily enjoying your warmth as you squeeze the life out his poor aching cock.
He’s whining and moaning about how good you feel, greedy fucker having cummed so many times in you already while Ais has only came once down your throat.
But not to worry, you’ve cummed too, Leander touching you and his cock hitting the right spot. It has you seeing stars.
Ais soon grunts and pulls out from your mouth, a string of saliva connecting from your lips to his dick. His thumb resting on your bottom lip as he fists his cock rapidly. “Keep your pretty mouth open, Sparrow.”
And oh, he moans and groans so prettily as he cums, his head slightly thrown back.
Your tongue hangs out to catch some of the thick, white ropes that spurt from the angry red tip of his cock, the rest splattering on your face and some even in your hair, but you couldn’t care less.
Leander moans loudly, busting another load into you, and he has enough stamina to help you finish as well, your body shuddering and your hole squeezing him again, causing him to drool a little with tears clinging to his lashes.
Poor Kuras won’t be getting those herbs anytime soon…

Master Of The Earth (Bob Floyd x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Out of all the Daggers, Bob has the biggest green thumb of all
Tagging: @floydsmuse @callmemana @attapullman @bradshawsbaby @withahappyrefrain
It was one of those spring days where you knew summer would be right around the corner, bright and sunny, the birds singing and the fresh early morning air making its way into the house. You had been sitting out on the front steps, enjoying your morning coffee and relieved that your lesson plans for your class's sixth grade year were finally done and that all you would have to worry about were the Greek Games and the spring fair at the school you taught at.
You heard the faint playing of music coming from somewhere around the corner, just having finished a phone call with Bob's grandfather and wondering if your mind was playing tricks on you.
You wandered around the back to the backyard where the garden was already beginning to bloom, noticing that the greenhouse door was cracked open just a little to let in the fresh air. A cheeky grin played with your lips when you heard the bluetooth speaker playing "Shambala" by Three Dog Night and your eyes laying upon Bob who was dancing shirtless as he shoveled some of the bagged soil into the clay pots on the long wooden table.
"BOB!!"
"Jeebus FUCK!!!" he blurted out, jumping a little.
"Have you been in here all morning?" you asked him.
"Since five in the AM," he chuckled, drawing you in for a tight hug.
Oooh he was warm, so warm and a little sticky from the greenhouse humidity, smelling of fresh dirt and wet leaves. You kissed the curve of his neck and the tops of his pecs before he gladly and eagerly returned the kisses you had been giving.
"Oh, I've gotta show you these," he said excitedly.
He gently guided you to the bench where a whole pile of seed packets were waiting to be opened. "Oh my God," you chuckled. "Did you raid the entire Home Depot garden section?"
Bob had opened his mouth to say something. "I......ya know......it's funny you should ask that....."
"Robert Joseph......"
"(Y/n) I swear half of it was my dad's idea, I'm not lying."
You laughed and rolled your eyes. Bob, his dad Joe Floyd and Joe's father, Lowell, were the only three people on the face of the earth who would have willingly raided a Home Depot garden section and not given a single fuck hereafter. "Alright Professor Floyd," you said. "Continue with the lecture."
"Ah ok," Bob said. "Now we have here an assortment of plants that will be first put into clay pots and then gradually into bigger ones until they are ready to root in the ground. Now if you would like to flip through the pile of seed packets, you may feel free to do so."
You laughed and gladly flipped through the pile of packets, amazed at what Bob had been able to get. Calendula, oregano, cayenne pepper, chamomile, poppies, lavender, rosemary, mint, marigolds, valerian and a whole host of other herbs and flora that you swore weren't even native to where you lived.
"Ooh, yarrow," you said.
"That was always Meemaw's favorite," Bob explained. "I've also got tulsi, catnip and mugwort too."
"What else did you plant?" you asked him.
"Maybe a peach tree," Bob said, blushing a little. "For my sweet, juicy little peach of course."
You giggled, the heat filling you from head to toe.
"I've also got a few bushes too," Bob continued. "Blackberry, elderberry, raspberry.......maybe a camellia bush. Black cohosh will help with mom's hot flashes and keep the pests away. Nasturtium will grow hardy but they need wood dowels to climb up. I'd like to see about some mullein and nettle but I'm not sure where we'd put it. Hawk said he would come by later and give me some white sage seeds that he extracted from his daughter's garden too."
You could have listen to him babble on for hours about the plants and the experiments he was trying. You made a mental note to introduce him to Mr. Jenkins, the high school science teacher who was teaching his ninth graders some of the principals and techniques involved in holistic farming, as the two of them would have a day long conversation.
You and Bob set to planting the seeds, scooping the dirt and putting it into the pots along with the seeds and properly burying them just enough so they could push through to the surface when the time came. You watered and fertilized as you saw fit, taking pictures of new sprouts or buds and adding them into Bob's journal full of his drawings, writings and observations. You both had lost track of the time until you realized it was already noon and time for lunch. But thankfully, the day wasn't over yet and you could do as much more planting as the day would allow.

Floral Flesh - Part 1(?)
Based off of an idea from my mutual, @p-3-t-r-1-ch-0-r / @whumpy-written-works
Characters used/Mentioned: Dr. Maven Heltrine (OC), TS-0019 Valerian Andersen (OC), other unnamed OCs.
A/N: Actually may make this into a series as well. Unsure as of right now.
STANDARD DISCLAIMERS APPLY.

The lab boys, as the majority of staff called them, came up with a new ‘prototype’ yet again, under a theory if their newest subject was able to produce and sustain flora.
Dr. Heltrine was the one that had the ‘pleasure’ of testing the prototype. Of course the thought of strapping someone down and injecting them with a serum as unstable as their security system wasn’t a pleasant one, it was his job as the head of the prototype department, and he enjoyed it.
Valerian wasn’t as keen about the idea, rightfully so.
He wasn’t just gonna let this happen. Kicking, struggling, and screaming, he tried everything to get away from this. However, the moment he saw a duo of Handlers enter, he lost his spirit, eventually giving in as he was strapped down to the exam bench.
“Now, here’s how this is gonna go” Dr. Heltrine explained, preparing a needle with the swirling green and brown serum of god knows what. “We’re gonna inject you with this prototype, and leave you here for a week. Th-“
“Wait- wait, what?” Valerian interrupted, angrily. “A week?! That’s not fair-!”
“QUIET!” Heltrine snapped, hushing Valerian immediately. “..As I was saying; Then, we’ll return, and see the effects, and adjust accordingly. The goal is to see if your… biology, is able to support plant life.”
“This- this is insane-“ Valerian stuttered out, even though he knew anything he said would be immediately brushed off.
“No, ‘19” Heltrine grinned, flicking the needle as he pressed a thumb to his wrist, found his pulse, and then aligned the needle accordingly. He had to admit, feeling the other’s pulse increase under his thumb was exhilarating, especially of something so inhuman. “It’s science.”
Valerian let out a choked cry as the needle sunk into his skin, a burning rushing through his body.

Lacy White Flowers
Since there are so many kinds I thought I'd put them all together. :)

Aruncus dioicus (bride's feathers/goat's beard) is in my own garden and is a species that is agreed by both the USDA and VASCAN to be native to British Columbia, but VASCAN says only there and introduced elsewhere, whereas the USDA says one variety is native to western Canada and USA, and another (the primary variety, but this one is not recognized by VASCAN) is native to eastern Canada and USA.
Pycnanthemum virginianum (Virginia mountain mint) is also in my own garden and is native to Ontario and Quebec according to VASCAN and the USDA, and to the maritime provinces and most of the eastern United States according to the USDA.
Erigeron philadelphicus (Philadelphia fleabane) would have been a weed but isn't in my garden because I would have happily paid money to get her. She's native to most of Canada according to both VASCAN and the USDA, and to most of the USA as well according to the USDA.
Daucus carota (Queen Anne's lace/wild carrot) is a weed in my area because she's native to Europe and Asia, not North America. Very pretty, though, and if I had been born and raised across the pond and had developed an interest in native flora there, I absolutely would grow her.
Tradescantia zebrina cultivar (silver inch plant/wandering Judy) is a plant my grandmother loves to grow. She is not native but as an annual whose seeds can't survive the winter there's no risk of her becoming invasive up here (which she is in warmer parts of the world). She is native to Mexico, Central America, and Colombia.
Sparganium americanum (American bur-reed) is in my own garden and is native to much of eastern North America.
Prunus virginiana (chokecherry) was growing in a fallow area next to a busy road. I found her as I was taking a long walk. Didn't know what she was at the time and plant identification apps weren't a thing back then. She is native to most of North America.
Verbena urticifolia (white vervain) is planted in a garden in the nearby park (or perhaps grew there on her own). She is native to much of North America.
I don't know what that is and my plant app at the time wasn't helpful. Valerian maybe. Was growing somewhere in Montreal near the water.
Berteroa incana (hoary alyssum) at least according to iNaturalist. This is an invasive species in North America and is native to Eurasia. Bad plant here, but she's pretty and I'm sure she's very nice where she belongs.
Hydrophyllum virginianum (Virginia waterleaf) is in my own garden. You mostly find her in woodlands and she likes dappled light. She'll tolerate part sun, but she'll droop until the light fades. She's native to Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec according to VASCAN and the USDA, and the USDA also says she's native to most of the eastern USA.
Melilotus albus (white sweet clover) is not native to North America but to Eurasia, and is invasive here. So, you know, if you're in North America and you want to make a wildflower bouquet, feel free to grab all of her.
Torilis japonica (upright hedge parsley) is native to parts of North Africa, western Europe, and Asia. She's unfortunately very invasive in North America.
Ceanothus americanus (New Jersey tea) is in my own garden and she's native to Ontario and Quebec according to VASCAN and the USDA, and also to most of the eastern USA according to the USDA. You can use her for tisane, as the name suggests, but I haven't done so yet.
Ocimum basilicum (basil) is a herb grown often by my grandmother and by many others because her leaves are a delicious herb. You actually want to try to pinch the flowers where you find them growing because it will encourage more leaf growth and keep the taste nice. However, in a large stand of them you undoubtedly miss a few, and they're kind of cute!
Pycnanthemum tenuifolium (slender mountain mint) was in my own garden. I believe she'd make a great savoury seasoning though I never got to trying. She is native to Ontario and Quebec according to VASCAN and the USDA, and to most of the eastern USA according to the USDA.
Actaea racemosa (fairy candle) is in my own garden. I just think everyone in her native range should try growing her. She's so pretty. But make sure she's watered well. The plants themselves are drought-tolerant once established but the flower spikes will shrivel and die before opening. There is disagreement on her Canadian native range. VASCAN says Ontario only and introduced to Quebec. The USDA says native to both Ontario and Quebec and says she's also native to much of the eastern USA.
Galium aparine (sticky willy) at least I think. She's growing on a hillside next to a sidewalk, holding her own against the invasive dog-strangling vines, daylilies, and buttercups. VASCAN says she's native to much of Canada, Ontario included. The USDA disagrees on some of her Canadian range, but also includes Ontario, and all of the continental USA except Puerto Rico.
Maianthemum stellatum (starry false Solomon's seal) is native to most of Canada according to the USDA and VASCAN, and to most of the USA according to the USDA. She's found in wet woody areas and has candy-striped berries. This one is mine.
Allium cernuum (nodding onion) is in my own garden and is native to several Canadian provinces according to VASCAN and the USDA, and is also native to much of the continental USA according to the USDA. She's pretty and she's tasty.
Circaea canadensis (eastern enchanter's nightshade) shows up as a garden weed, but in my garden she's welcome. She's native to from Manitoba to the maritime provinces according to VASCAN and the USDA, and also to much of the eastern USA according to the USDA.
I don't know what this is. Likely part of the carrot family.
Dianthus species but I don't know which. Likely a cultivar.
Spiraea alba (white meadowsweet) is native to much of the southern part of Canada according to VASCAN and the USDA and is also native to much of the eastern USA according to the USDA.
Amelanchier sp. (serviceberry) planted by the city. Not sure which species but her berries are delicious in the spring. Multiple Amelanchier species are native to North America.
Thalictrum pubescens (tall meadow rue) is in my own garden. In my opinion she's a must-have in part shade for anyone with a garden in eastern North America, to which she is native according to VASCAN and the USDA.
Heracleum mantegazzium (giant hogweed) for invasiveness in North America, height, and danger, is like Queen Anne's lace, cow parsnip, and wild parsnip on crack. My photo was taken from a safe distance but she's kind of everywhere now. Flowers are pretty, which is why she was brought over from her native Caucasia. She probably has some edible uses too if prepared correctly, but like...she can burn or blind you in the process, so I don't recommend experimenting (even though I intend to).
Asclepias verticillata (whorled milkweed) is one of the more aggressive milkweeds, spreading via rhizome, but not nearly as much as common milkweed. She's native to Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario according to VASCAN and the USDA, and also to most of the lower 48 states according to the USDA.
Plantago lanceolata (ribwort plantain) is a common weed in lawns and fields. She's native to Eurasia in temperate regions but although widespread over North America, she doesn't appear to be invasive. Not all introduced species are.
Sambucus canadensis (common elder) is in my own garden. Good berries (if cooked; they're poisonous raw) and magical flower clusters. She's native in Canada from Manitoba to the maritime provinces according to VASCAN and the USDA, and to most of the lower 48 states as well as Puerto Rico according to the USDA. She's also native through Mexico to Bolivia according to Wikipedia.

Club Winx, vamos! En misión una vez más Nunca vayas a rendirte - como el fuego quemarás carrera contra el tiempo, mas allá de los sueños Onyrix!
Onyrix, like Sirenix, wasn’t really re-redesigned as much as it was updated and color-adjusted. Virtually everything’s the same! (as usual, for the lore you can check the transformation masterpost.) The flowers are all still the same as well - Bloom has gardenia, Musa has passionflower, Stella has jasmine, Flora has peace lily, Aisha has valerian and Tecna has chamomille, all flowers related to sleep. Onyrix doesn’t like passive unconscious spells like Flora and Tecna’s hair color change so their blonde streaks and fuchsia tint are gone.

So this is a story from my setting, it's from a in universe book called Beyond the Maw
Beyond The Maw, is a book written in first person by an explorer called Marcus Valerian, he was an explorer from Kor'Talor that tried to explore the Serpent's Maw Ocean in search for adventure and during it he and his crew found a location called "The Whistling Fields" (inspired in long term radiation disposal sites)
Below is the most important and last story near the end of the book after this chapter just tells about how Marcus decided to go back to Ymirheim (his home state)
Chapter 4: Whistling Fields
As the sun raised over the horizon, the first rays of light painted the sky in a beautiful orange hue. The sun was rising over the ocean, and the waves were reflecting the light in a way that made it look like the ocean was on fire.
I stood on the shores of a yet unnamed island in the far reaches of the Serpent's Maw Ocean. After many months of sailing my crew and I, Marcus Valerian, directed Arcanogia to this island from the shores of Kor'Talor. The beautiful ship was anchored in the shallow waters of the island, and the crew was busy unloading the supplies and equipment we had brought with us.
We were eager to explore the island after many days evading the dangers of Anantasea's Signals. The island was covered in dense jungle, with its canopy dancing swiftly in the ocean's breeze.
After finishing the unloading, I gathered my crew and we started to explore the island. The jungle was dense and the undergrowth was thick, but we managed to find a path that led us to the island's interior. The verdant surroundings enchanted us, yet we felt like it bore an uncanny feeling, as we had not seen any wildlife or heard any sounds of life other than the rustling of the leaves and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.
After the first day of exploration, we had not found any clearings or signs of civilization. But as we ventured deeper into the jungle the vibrant colors of the flora started to grow dimmer, and the sounds of the ocean started to fade away. Giving way to crooked and fragile trees, their canopy gone and the ground covered in a layer of dead leaves, gray and lifeless breaking into ash as we stepped on them.
We set up camp on the border of the dead forest, and as the night fell, we could hear the sound of the ocean again. The crew felt a slight unease, and I could see the worry in their eyes. I tried to reassure them that this could be a natural phenomenon, like wildfires or a disease that had killed the trees. But I could not shake the feeling that something was wrong.
The next day we ventured deeper into the dead forest, and as we walked, the feeling of unease grew stronger. The trees were crooked and twisted, they seemed to be reaching out to us and yet once touched they would crumble into ash. Although the second day was uneventful we found a small river in which we refilled our water supplies, and we found a small clearing in which we set up camp at the end of the day.
It wasn't until the third day that we found it, not something natural, and yet I refuse to believe it was man-made. The forsaken land christened by the crew as "The Whistling Fields". A vast expanse of gray, weathered stone-like ground, stretching as far as the eye could see. The ground was not covered in ash, it was as clean as if not even the dust wanted to touch it. From the ground spikes of stone rose at different angles, some of them were as tall as our ship, and some smaller than a coin and some grew from other spikes or in clusters from the ground.
The crew was in awe, and I was too. I had never seen anything like it, and I could not believe that something like this could exist. Galintras, my first mate approached the spikes and touched one of them, according to him, he theorized and subsequently confirmed that the spikes were made of Dead Stone, as he tried -unsuccessfully- to transmute it into a different shape.
As I cannot confirm your knowledge within the matter, reader, I will explain that Dead Stone is -as of the time I write you this- a rare and mysterious material, not entirely a stone, nor metal nor wood. It is said to be found in the most desolate and forsaken places, Dead stone seems like nothing other than a heavy and unremarkable stone, but it is unyielding, it does not respond to any form of tool, magic or force.
We advanced through the Whistling Fields, and as we walked, we could see amidst the cracks and crevices of the stone, a faint blue radiance pulsed, akin to the light of the stars. We were all mesmerized by the sight, and yet we felt like it carried an unspoken warning. It had a dreadful beauty that stirred a hidden primal fear within us that we couldn't understand. No, it was not ever something mortals could understand.
We set up camp after a long day of exploration within the fields. As the sun hid behind the spike covered horizon, the crew and I gathered around the campfire. We were all silent, lost in our thoughts but the silence was broken by a faint sound, a sound that was not of the ocean, nor of the jungle moving in the wind. It started as a faint whisper carried by the breeze, but as the wind grew stronger and the night grew darker, the whisper turned into a morning full whistled tune. The campfire flickered and shadows danced in the edge of our vision, as if our minds tried playing tricks on us.
We all felt the unease, and I could see the fear in the eyes of my crew. We gathered around the campfire and decided that we should make guard shifts, as we could not shake the feeling that something was watching us. The night was long and the whistling tune never truly stopped, it was always there, either as a powerful melody or a faint whisper at the edge of our hearing.
On the second day within the fields, Gulinthras was said to have seen a movement behind one of the spikes. The crew watched with our weapons drawn, as the elven man turned around the spike. That was when my first mate was taken. Without a sound, screaming or struggle, he was gone. We noticed he hadn't come to the otherside of the spike, and we rushed to the other side, but he had given place to only bones and his clothes. We searched for him, but we found nothing. We could not find him, and we could not find any trace of what had taken him. I called such a phenomenon the Osseous Embrace, for the lack of a better name.
Fear and anger took its place on the crew, and we decided that we should search for what had taken Gulinthras and avenge our fallen comrade.
We kept walking, with our weapons drawn and hearts filled with dread and anger. The night fell, and the whistling tune grew louder again, the blue radiance within the dead stone gave off a slight warmth contrasting with the cold nature of the stone. During the night Borindil, the ship's cook, discovered uncanny markings on the stone, they were arranged as if they were a text, but the language was unknown to us. The markings were not carved, but they were part of the stone, as if the stone itself had grown with the markings.
During the third day within the fields, Borindil was taken by the Osseous Embrace, the dwarven woman was gone without a trace the instant we lost sight of her. Her clothes entangled with her bones left behind, dangling from the spikes. We searched for her, but we found nothing. We could not find her, and we could not find any trace of what had taken her.
Fear had taken hold of the crew, we decided that we should leave the forsaken land by crossing the fields and returning to the jungle and then circle the island to reach Arcanogia.
We walked with haste, ignoring anything that was not the path ahead of us. I could feel the fear of the crew, and I could feel the fear within me. The whistling tune was louder than ever as the wind seemed to try to push us into the spikes.
I made sure to not let my curiosity take hold of me, even when I could swear I saw a figure in the corner of my eye, or when I could swear I heard a voice calling my name. I could not let my mind play tricks on me, I could not let the fear take hold of me.
We decided to take a small break at night, we climbed to the top of a spike that was at an angle from the ground, and we set up camp. The spike allowed us to see that the fields were not endless, and that we could see the jungle in the distance, we were around half-way from the jungle, right at the center of the fields. As I pointed it out to the crew, Patyr and Ahlor, both humans that were Borindil's assistants, lost their footing and fell to the ground. They were taken by the Osseous Embrace before reaching the ground, as they left our sight they were gone and their bones spread across the ground with the impact.
We were all horrified, and we decided to leave the forsaken land as soon as possible. We dismantled the camp and we started to walk again, no, we started to run. We ran as fast as we could, having given up on the plan of crossing the field we retraced our steps and we ran towards the jungle. I could feel my hairs standing on end, and I could feel the fear within this place becoming something far more than my soul could ever fabricate. The whistling tune was louder than ever, my bones shook with it.
My heart was burning as I struggled to keep running but never stopping. I hadn't looked at my crew, it was a struggle within, maybe for selfishness, maybe I didn't want to look and see them taken by the Osseous Embrace. I could hear their footsteps, but I could not hear their voices. My mind was filled with the whistling tune, thinking was impossible, I could only run.
I caved in, I fell to the ground, I could not run anymore, my eyes looking into the cracks of the dead stone, the blue stars irradiated my face, as the thousand blue dots watched me as if they were eyes of the stone itself, mocking me, it made my eyes hurt, I closed them and as my mouth felt dry and a metalic taste plagued my senses. I could feel the fear taking hold of me, like dark tendrils reaching out as I laid on the ground. I did not want to look, I did not want to see what was coming for me. That was when I heard my comrades running past me, I open my eyes to them running towards the jungle, Luca, my second mate, turned back to look at me, and I could see the fear in his eyes, he closed them and ran back to help me up. I could not hear his voice, but I could see his lips moving, my heartbeat was too loud, the whistling tune was too loud, the fear was too loud.
We kept running for what felt like hours, Luca helped me keep running as my chest burned and my legs ached. Ahead of us was the crew. I saw some of them dropping their backpacks and weapons, to run faster. By the time I was able to run on my own, I saw the jungle, I saw the end of the forsaken land. But something else called my attention, Aryl, the tiefling that worked as the ship's lookout, had fallen to the ground, Luca kept running, but I stopped to help Aryl, I did not want to leave them behind. They slowly got up, but refused to move, their eyes were covered in tears, the youngest adventurer in the crew was frozen. "It will be okay, we are almost there, we are almost out of here." I said, for a second I could hear my voice and their cries amidst all the noise.
But suddenly, the cries became silent, I saw it, right in front of me, the Osseous Embrace took them, and I could not do anything to stop it. I just stood there watching as the uncomprensible took them in moments, nothing but bones and equipment were left by the thing. I still held the hand of the tiefling, but it was gone, I was alone as the bones fell off my grip.
A hand grabbed my shoulder, and I turned around to see Luca, he was crying, and I could see the fear in his eyes. "We need to go, we need to go now." He said, and I could hear his voice, I could hear the fear carriedby his words.
We ran towards the jungle, and as we crossed the threshold of the forsaken land, the whistling tune didn't stop until we were deep within the jungle. We kept running until we reached the shore, and we found Arcanogia. The crew was silent, and I could see the dread and regret in their eyes. We set sail to Kor'Talor as soon as we could, and we left the forsaken island.
We wish to have left the Whistling Fields, but once we set foot on the land, we understood the none of us could ever leave the fields i a way that mattered.
Their bones are still there, Borindil, Gulinthras, Patyr, Ahlor and Aryl, they are still there, and I could not do anything to save them. I could not do anything to save them, and I could not do anything to save myself. May the gods have their souls, and not whatever took them in the forsaken land.

7 snippets 7 people
Thank you for the tag @oh-no-another-idea !
I'm going to post seven snippets from the chapter I'm currently editing and edit them as I post so that I'm doing double-duty. :D
All Callie POV!
1.
Grace grinned as Callie reached out in awe and ran her fingertips over the keys. There had to be a hundred in here, and together, they resonated with a silent hum of power - her power. Unique and strong, and the thought came to her without an ounce of ego. She was happy to give it away, and have no one ever know where it came from.  What the fuck?
2.
“You’re done for the day,” Flora declared.  “What? No. No no no. I’m gonna make more keys. Hey. Merv. Tell her we’re gonna do more magic.”  Bennett looked at her funny. “Did you just call me ‘Merv’?”  “No.”  “You can’t even talk,” he said, to her extreme annoyance, because she was talking just fine, thank you very much. "Flora's right, you're done."
3.
“Keep an eye on her,” Bennett told Dig before leaving, watching her where she swayed happily on the ground.  “Dig has eyes,” she said helpfully. “I said I wanna make another orbox. Guys. I wanna help.” Suddenly she was crying. She’d just been happy. What the hell. “I just wanna help,” she sobbed. “I wanna help so bad.”  “Aww, of course you do,” Dig said, and then he was helping her walk over the bed they’d made, just a big pile of blankets and pillows on a slab o’ stone. “But you can’t help if you’re dead, dearie, so you gotta have a rest. Just for a little while.”
4.
“You’re part of a plan. As are we all, but Spirit’s got a lot to say about your role in this.”  She smirked. “My dad would’ve called you a demon.”  Dig laughed. “I get that from time to time,” he said, shrugging his shoulders and making tiny bells at the end of his shirt jingle. “When did he pass?”  “Huh? Oh, no. He’s not dead. I just... we don’t speak.”  “Oh.” Dig pursed his lips, like he wasn’t sure whether or not he should continue. “You know, sorry, but I just gotta say, he may be a faith leader, but he’s not the end-all-be-all authority on God. There’s a lot of Christians who believe that God is all love and forgiveness, that He doesn’t live to judge us.”
5.
“What does your heathen ass know about it anyway?”  “Well, I’ve spent thirty years studying and teaching theology and my husband’s a Christian, so more than you’d expect.”  “Your gay magician husband’s a Christian?”  “Jake’s not a magician. He just lives here because I live here. And I’d wager the God he believes in and the God your dad does bear almost no resemblance.”
6.
“And you believe in Him?” she asked, stunned. “In God?”  “Oh, sweetheart,” Dig said, swooping up his cards with a tinkly jingle of his sleeve, “I believe in all the gods. They don’t give me much of a choice. Do you?”  She felt very sleepy, imagining all the gods including God stopping the godly things they were doing to send Dig telegrams. “I dunno,” she muttered. She downed the last lukewarm sip of the sweaty-sock tea as her eyelids start to droop. “What is this shit?”  “Valerian root,” he said. “It makes you relaxed.”  She narrowed her eyes at him, feeling the impossibly strong call of the pillows underneath her head. “So by it’ll help, you meant...?”  “That it’ll mellow you right off to sleep, yeah.” He stood and unceremoniously dumped a thick comforter on top of her. “Nighty night, Red.”
7.
“Grace,” she insisted sharply, “what do you mean, when you go?”  “Fall term starts in two weeks,” she said, looking surprised she had to explain. “I’m not enrolled. I’m only here for a year.”  “The fuck you are.”  “I told you that,” she said, trying to wriggle free from Callie’s grip and putting all her herb bags down when she couldn’t. “I must’ve.”  “No,” Callie said. “No, kid, you didn’t. And, um, this is crap, okay? You’re not going anywhere. We need you.”  I need you. She stopped it from spilling out, because she couldn’t explain it. There was no actual reason she needed Grace. But she couldn't let her just, just leave.

"I love going to the Realm; it’s so pretty!"
"Except for that big awful building filled with Scholars right in the middle of it."
"Who cares about buildings!" Dahlia certainly doesn't. "The gardens are so nice. You’d probably find something nice to paint there, like flowers. I know you like painting flowers. It’s just a shame the greenhouse is offlimits."
"It is?"
"Carnation and I got one hell of a zap when we tried sneaking in the last time we were there. Someone put a hefty protection spell on it that’s for sure."
"Probably to stop sneaking children break in!" Amy teased, knowing the kinds of trouble Dahlia and her brother used to get into.
"Oh, we weren’t children. It was when I had my ascension." Dahlia replied.
"You- you’ve had your ascension?"
"Yes a couple of months before this past summer."
"You never told me that!"
"Didn’t I? Oh, well it’s not like it’s a big deal. They just say a few words and you repeat them to promise a few things and hey presto you ascended. Now the adult witches think you can use magic better than before." Dahlia rolled her eyes remembering the whole process. One day she ascended and that means she was better at magic than she had been the day before when she hadn't had any more or less training the time in between? Ridiculous.
Amy put her paint brush down. "Maybe you should call Flora and ask for some valerian root. She probably has some."
"You’re right! That girl has everything I’ll call her right now!"

Day 8 - New Family Portrait
Tumblr media
Following Violetta’s solo excursion through the compound, Rataskr and Lily took extra steps for child proofing their home. When that proved to only frustrate the toddlers, Lily procured permission to take the twins out on little adventures into the Black Shroud. She would gather flora from the forest while letting the twins explore around her. The dappled sunlight had captivated them the moment they could see it, and Lily couldn’t help but appreciate just how beautifully they wore daylight.
After one outing, the twins demanded coloring supplies and craft paper and spent the whole afternoon chattering to each other in their secret language and scribbling out dozens of sun shaped circles alongside a variety of approximations of what animals should look like. They would check in with Lily, who was busy crafting stockpiles of socks and tunics while she watched them, seeking her approval and praise.
It went like this for hours and Lily took frequent breaks to hang up the images around the room so that they could surprise their father. Another, longer break, was granted when the twins passed out in little blanket nests on the main room’s floor. Lily took advantage of the break to start dinner, and though she could see them from her post, a sudden fight broke before she was even aware they had awoken.
“NO! Nono!” One of the twins hollered. It was hard to tell who, because soon they were both screaming it at each other.
By the time Lily secured the food so she could intervene, Rataskr entered the dwelling in a blur of black velvet robes. He searched the room for a threat but only found Violetta shoving her brother back as she howled inconsolably. She stood up on wobbly legs and ran past Rataskr, offering her ruined drawing out to Lily. It took him a moment, but Rataskr recognized what had happened and took a glance from Lily to mean he should comfort his son while she handled Violetta.
“What’s the matter, Vi?” Lily cooed as she bent down. She put out her hands and Violetta put the wrinkled drawing in it. The scene was pretty standard, but the entire right portion of the page was a violent scribble of reddish-orange and green pastels. When Lily followed the red lines back to the family scene, she recognized the issue, even without Violetta being able to explain it.
“Erian didn’t want to be green?” She asked.
Violetta wailed louder and threw herself down onto her padded backside.
“It is still so pretty. Remember when we went out and the sky was reddish? Because the sun was rising? It looks a little like that.”
The words had no effect, Violetta simply continued to wail as if it were the worst possible thing that had ever happened in her young life. Lily shot a distressed glance to Rataskr who nodded. Valerian was already drawing again, sniffling snot bubbles a bit, but seemingly at peace with whatever comfort his father offered.
“What’s wrong, little biter?” Rataskr asked as he stood up and walked over to pluck Violetta off the ground.
She went limp, dead weight, but continued to howl.
“Ruined!” She finally managed between hiccupping sobs.
Rataskr glanced to the drawing in Lily’s hand, shifting Violetta’s weight so he could look at it with her.
“I don’t think so,” he admitted honestly. “I can see what you were going for. Am I the pink bunny? I do like pink.”
All of Violetta’s rage, sorrow, and defeat vanished. She blinked her large tear-filled eyes and turned to him. The incredulousness of her expression was nearly mirrored looks he had given people in the past, so Lily had to turn away and cover her mouth as she laughed. She offered the drawing out behind her back for Rataskir to take in his empty hand.
“I am taller than mama, though, right?”
“Da!” Violetta scolded. “Red.”
She pointed at the red bunny and then up to his eyes.
“Oh! And mama’s blue, because…oh, her favorite dress. Then why is Valerian green?”
Violetta furrowed her brows and looked like she might be upset again. As she emphatically shook her head and started to pout, Rataskr understood.
“You’re green. Oh…Valerian thought that you were making him green. He doesn’t like green.”
“I do,” Violetta confessed pitifully.
“Oh…sweetie. He didn’t understand. Come on, lets go tell him and start a new drawing, alright?”
Violetta craned to look over her father’s shoulder and saw Valerian drawing with intense focus. She seemed to give it some thought before nodding. Rataskr carried her over and sat between her and Valerian. He took out two clean sheets of paper and started to draw along with the twins. It didn’t take long for the trio to happily start chattering about their drawings, giving Lily the time to compose herself and finish the meal. By the time she had started to cool the bowls of food for her children, the twins were telling Rataskr all about the sun. It was both bittersweet and beautiful, and she could tell by his posture, he was barely holding it together. When Lily went to collect Valerian for dinner, she noticed the ruined drawing was no where to be seen. She looked at Rataskr questioningly and he responded by tapping his chest pocket while holding back the dark, unnatural tears that stained his lash line.
Oh, how he missed the sun.

Note
Ino would lead the other our to the green house in the back of the shop where there was a large variety of not only flowers but also other flora that had clearly been tended to with both a professional and loving hand. "Yes I do believe I see what you needed, " she smiled walking toward the yellow flowers. "Now as for the valerians I believe we should have a few for the autumn" she chimed as she began to make the bouquet
Tumblr media
Taking note of everything around her she would study to see the vast kinds of flowers she has growing. Surprised really by all the specimens that they're able to keep alive. " Is it possible to put me down to order some now, or do you not take orders this far in advance? I have to say you have an impressive collection. More than I was expecting. "
