coming out

dan and phil are coming out. no, they haven’t uploaded a video, but quite honestly i don’t think they will, and if they do, we will have already known. but they are coming out in a different way. it’s the little things, like dan making top or bottom jokes and not editing it out. it’s letting more ‘phan related’ answers be shown during ii. it’s story jokes and posts about travels and taking photos of each other. it’s phil calling an inflatable doll his dead husband during cah, it’s the dailybooths and formsprings and tweets being rediscovered and dan not shooting them down this time. it’s giving the people what they want and everything after it. it’s them being more open with us, them leaving Dan and Phil™️ behind and becoming dan and phil, two awkward guys who have been together since forever.

don’t get me wrong love, simon was amazing but i need more. i need lesbian warrior princesses and poc gay guys figuring themselves out. i need stories that have everything to do with be lgbtq and stories that have nothing to do with it (while still incorporating characters that are). i need representation in the media and it can’t just be for the selling points. i need lgbtq everywhere until it’s so normal that no one bats an eye. i need no one to ever have to come out again.
