I haven't even read the rest of the post with this (It's the one talking how he swears the show is better somehow)
But I saw this and it enraged me as A, a writer myself and B, someone who's planning out my own show (I'm mostly gonna be doing it on my own cause I don't want to pitch it to a network yet, if at all)
The point of your show should not "How long can I keep it going?" (ML, Supenatural season 6 onwards, Green Arrow, so on and so forth), it should be "How can I best tell a nice, fulfilling full story in the format I've been given?"
I haven't even technically started on my show officially, why?
I'm planning out designs, lore, world, plotlines, e v e r y t h i n g because it's not, "How long can I stretch it out?" It's "How can I tell this fulfilling story? I can do books, but shows are different so let me plan out everything so when I get into it, I have my start and I have my end and it's not 5+ seasons and we're still left with way more questions then do we do answers!
I mean we might with how I'm planning this show, we're starting season 1 midway through the timeline, season 2 is going back to beginning of the timeline and I'm still trying to figure out where that's gonna relink up with season 1 and then go forward in the timeline but! If I'm writing a show like ML? Hawkmoth would've been booted out season 3, more love square focus and building them as individuals and together and why they work together other than "I said so" (We'll see Heather, my main character and Plume, her love interest, slowly become friends then in love), flesh out the class so when they get miraculous it's not "Oh okay" it's a "Yes! They've earned it! And it suits them!" It's a celebration! I'd make the heroes lose to make them need the other heroes and honestly? Adrien would redone and have more impact on the story as he's supposed to as duerologist!
I just.
No! You should never look at your show like that! Look at the complaints of Supern@tural being way too long and how ridiculous it became! The many "Went on too long" shows complaints!
Looking at your show for longevity sets it up for hatred, it should be a story, not a longevity thing to milk as much money as you can from it.
At the very least, Astruc should have a plan if he wants his show to last as long as it does. Long doesn't automatically mean good.

[MEME done by me] Wait, this isn't like what happened in Dearest Family...?
(based in the "suitcase full of c*ke" meme that's popping up lately thanks to TADC, I thought it would be fitting to Tikki)

OMG, that would be a fucking mess, but hilarious at the same time.
Okay but I think I know what idea that anon mentioning someone's idea of "chloe-replaced-by-a-sentimonster" where hawkmoth yeets her away with the horse, I'm fairly sure he actually yeets her away with the RABBIT and then she shows up a couple months in the future in Marinette's room looking confused as heck and Marinette has to not only figure out what just happened but then *explain* it to Chloe
(The post this anon is referring to)
Thanks for catching that mistake, anon.

As a brazilian myself, I have my worries too about the special that, I always saw more like an business agreement between channels rather than something that would fit the show as a whole.
In a historical standpoint (sorry, I'm a big history nerd), all the specials so far had countries with a heavy connection with the series, or at least with France. Either they had french colonies on their territories' history (I.e.: Louisiana Purchase in the US and Senegal in Africa, which according to recent news, will be the place where the african special will be set) or heavy ties with the french (which was even acknowleged in the NY special with that Friendship Day, or I don't know how they called it), Shangai is the only one that would actually have something for Marinette's roots, but we all know how that went. But Brazil? I can't see much reasons about how this country would have something to do with ML, or France (the ones I remember is when the french tried to invade Rio back when it was a Portuguese colony, or our losses to them at World Cups, not counting immigration or cultural influences).
The only reason I see them doing something here is because of Gloob, the channel that broadcasts the series here. ML has been proved to be a big hit in Brazil and that granted Gloob many advantages, from episodes being sent here earlier to actually becoming co-producer from S5 onward. And as far as I remember, they'll also be assisting Zag with the special's production, which can be a saving grace (Gloob's team can help Zag to avoid being superficial about our culture, giving insights about brazilian culture) or do nothing at all, and be there just for the PR stuff with the brazilian fanbase.
I'm as fearful as the anon up there about them butchering our country as they did with the other specials, and even more, considering they have ACTUAL brazilians to help them with.
Hi. I readed your review about the Shanghai Special.
As a French-Brazilian (brazilian from my mother's side), my mom told me about my heritage and parts of her life in Brazil since I was young, and even taught me how to speak brazilian portuguese before french (though it caused a slight bit trouble at first when I got to school, an issue that was solved quite quickly).
She didn't told me about Brazil like a teacher, but she wanted me to know about my other "half" with stories about her life at my age there, narrating some specificities related to certain cities and places of the country and the subtulty of portuguese, and keep telling me about it today... And I was (and still am) passionate about it.
Nowadays, I don't fully know everything about my two heritages' cultures, but I'm happy that my mom told me about my brazilian side since early childhood, and I'm happy to be French-Brazilian.
That's why I'm seriously scared about the possibility of ZAG doing a Special in Brazil... I REALLY don't want to see what kind of movie it will result in. Given how Miraculous Ladybug portrayed other cultures in the show, I don't want to know how they'll handle brazilian culture... It will be an instant "NOPE" for me.
(Sorry for the rambling)
First of all, I’d like to thank you for coming forward, anon. I really appreciate getting your perspective on your experience with your heritage, and the Miraculous World specials as a whole.
That being said, I’m going to take a shot in the dark and assume when the Rio de Janeiro Special airs, the plot will most likely involve soccer/football, because that’s the one thing people love to associate with Brazil. We’ve already seen how America and Chinese culture was given the bare minimum of detail in the first two specials, so I’m pretty sure that the same will apply to the next few specials too.

Ah yes! A foreshadowing!
(also, I always hated the fact that Mari wasn't fluent in chinese even if she was raised by one, this headcanon of yours has been adopted by me now)
Headcanon that Marinette switches to Mandarin when she’s being scolded.

No, that thing was just the 2016 one being weird. Anyways, I loved watching PPGZ back then, Idk if it's still good, but I enjoyed it and as far as I remember, it was a better shoujo than whatever ML is trying to accomplish now. (after all, PPGZ was an ACTUAL anime)
on the topic of powers, this might sound funny but the miraculous users having only one type of superpower and nothing else reminds me of PPGZ where all the girls abilities from the original series have been watered down, or more so drained to them having a single weapon to fight off the bad guys and thats it
Do any of the Powerpuff Girls in that anime get a crush on a writer’s self-insert?
