Had a dream last night where i got to pitch what dream me thought was a genius idea for an artistic piece. I was talking to the curator of an art gallery & they were like “ok what’s this brilliant idea” & it turns out my brilliant idea was a linocut of a heart with a nipple in the center😂 the curator was not a fan of the idea & i was offended in the dream, but now that i’m awake, i kind of see their point lol

Ok time to rant about Subservience bc what the fuck:

1. How is the villain supposed to be a service bot & not the guy who cheats on his sick wife with said service bot? Bc he what, felt her artificial heartbeat & got horny? He’s the one with free will here

2. How the fuck is your robot so poorly made that it can, of its own choosing, disable or change settings (like Alice lowering her manners settings), and not land in serious trouble before?

3. Are we supposed to believe that Alice gained sentience because of the reset (restart)? Because again, how the FUCK is your bot that badly made that it gains sentience through a reset? And how have bots never gained sentience before? Surely this wasn’t the first time a bot was reset? Like, shouldn’t robots turn sentient/evil every time there’s a software upgrade?

4. What’s with the Alice in Wonderland references? I’ve never read Alice in Wonderland, so maybe i’m missing something big, but it felt like at some point someone considered making this some kind of Alice in Wonderland allegory/retelling & then forgot halfway through they were supposed to be doing that

5. How does Alice gain sentience, but retain the code of “protect primary user.” And why does her sentience revolve around being a huge murderous pick-me?

5. Overall, it feels like the pitch for this was “Megan Fox is a sexy maid robot who turns evil,” because let’s be real, who wouldn’t enjoy seeing Megan Fox as a sexy maid robot who turns evil, but come on, she’s got more range than evil sexy characters

1. Very brave of you to be anonymous over something with no stakes. Why not comment on the post you’re talking about? Afraid to get noted publicly?🧐😂

2. Where did i say i was arguing with teenagers? Actually, where did i say i was arguing? It was neither an argument nor a conversation that happened with teenagers.

3. I asked the reading community because the poll is about literature and i know there are people in the group are interested in Jane Austen and i figure there are people who would find the poll interesting/have insights/find the statement about willoughby being a “ho” amusing, outrageous, etc. it’s a community, i’m allowed to interact with the community even if you find it stupid😝

4. There were 3 options, not 2, so saying “both options are stupid as hell” (instead of “all 3 options are stupid as hell”), as well as the whole teenager assumption thing, really highlight your lack of reading comprehension. And so what if they are stupid? Why are you so pressed about a simple poll? Are you John Willoughby?😂 if you’re that mad about it why not just block me and then go touch grass instead of coming into my asks and anonymously harassing me

Ngl some of the worst episodes of dr who are written by stephen moffat imo

Like is he capable of writing an episode that doesn’t involve the dr having a saccharine emotional breakdown, ridiculous time travel stuff that’s so unbelievable it makes it impossible to suspend disbelief in a literal show about time travel, etc.?

I’ve said it before & i’ll say it again, stephen moffat gets so caught up in trying to make his plots sound smart that he forgets to actually make them smart😅

Also (bc yes this is a rant about the Joy to the World special), this was such a waste of Nicola Coughlin’s and Joel Fry’s talents. Like, i’ve seen them in other stuff, & to reduce Nicola Coughlin’s character (once again) to a stuttering, silly character & basically have Joel Fry be a minor character when he has such dimension, is really a disservice to both their talents
