In the PJO universe I think goring was a son of hades and hitler a son of ares.

Specifically they undertook the holocaust so Goring and the other sons of Hades could bring them back from the dead. The incinerator is either a coverup or only used for those not considered worthy for battle. Hitler, with the support of his patron, bound them in service to his cause and that’s why he was so successful in the early war.

Sons of Zeus (churchill) and sons of poseidon (fdr) are able to secretly dispatch elite demigod units to take down the undead hordes. The German force weakens as their zombies die and are replaced with younger poorly trained human soldiers.

The manhattan project is spearheaded by the children of Hephaestus. Major allied generals mainly represent the children of Athena.

Truman is chosen as VP because he too is a son of Hades and the allies are attempting to rally support from sons of ares/hades who are noticing the war effort is going poorly.

The Japanese forces might represent the children of Nike, obsessed with victory at all costs.
