It's been a while. So, life update time!

Move at work went well enough, but I'm glad to be on the other side of it. Everything's been a bit of an adjustment, but it's not a much longer commute than the old location.

Beat BG3 literally two days before patch 8 dropped, just in case something happened to my saves.

Boss is going on maternity leave soon. We have a temp part-time worker who will fill in for her remotely. Looking forward to seeing how this works out.

I'm getting a new car on Tuesday! This one was a very long time coming, but after an extensive amount of research, I finally pulled the trigger and got the ball rolling on Friday, but won't be able to actually get the car until after the holiday weekend.

So, since @chaoswritesthemultiverse mentioned my Storm God Gale build, here's some proof in action:

One witch bolt at Ketheric smacked him with enough reverberation stacks to knock him prone, which then let Aylin land enough critical smites to end the fight quickly since her turn was right after Gale's. The end point of the witch bolt in this cutscene was where Ketheric got knocked down before Aylin outright bodied him.

For anonymous, it's in the chest past the massive fire trap gauntlet on the way to the adamantine forge, on the crumbled balcony just outside of the room where you find the Shar statue to give to Shadowheart!

Hello! I'm assuming you're talking about this particular outfit:

This is one of my favourite sets of robes - The Protecty Sparkswall. They're dyed with plain old purple dye in this image. If you add The Spellsparkler, the Gloves of Belligerent Skies, and the Lifebringer, among other gear, you can turn Gale into a thunder and lightning god.... Perurere!!

The robes are somewhere in a chest in Grymforge, I forget exactly where.

In my recent game I came across some dialogue from Gale I've not seen before, despite this being my 500000000th romance with this man. So we meet Lorroakan for the first time and convince him that Aylin is dead. Speaking to Gale, I think, ok, he's going to be like "hey what a shit wizard" or "what an arrogant little twat" because we've already seen his rubbish projections and it's Lorroakan, come on. Then Gale says this:

Yes, he falls short of - wait. What? Gale is roasting Lorroakan not for his magical skills. He is incensed by his inability to use multiple sources to verify information.

This absolute nerd is more pissed about having too few citations than the fact that Lorroakan is an amoral little jerk that wants to torturously leech off of an aasimar's soul for his own immortality.

Last song: acoustic guitar covers of FFXIV Endwalker soundtrack performed by John Oeth, which is the perfect "sort through our old machine records to see what we keep and what we shred" music.

Last book: The Headmaster by Tiffany Reiz. Haven't gotten too far into it, sadly, but I'm looking forward to sitting down and having some dedicated reading time.

Last movie: Oh jeez. I don't remember. Something with Vincent Price on one of the movie channels on tv, I think?

Last tv show: I've been so busy and stressed with our office moving to a new location next month, I haven't had much of a chance to really sit and watch anything fun lately.

Last thing searched: Oh yikes. I have Google set to not remember *any* searches. But I think it was to see if we finally had a bg3 conversions of DAV casual outfits.

Favorite color: purple. Forever and always purple.

Sweet/spicy/savory: I might be getting older and my stomach isn't as capable of handling spicy food, BUT GIVE ME ALL THE SPICE!

Relationship status: Single and still pretty happy with that, regardless of what my relatives think.

Looking forward to: it's Friday, so definitely the weekend. I'm also really looking forward to the move stress going away at work. It's HARD to juggle my regular duties and all the shit I have to do to help with the move.

Current obsession: bg3 still has me in a choke hold. Especially a certain wizard companion.

Started a Gale origin run to see if the soft tummy mod installed properly (it wasn't showing up in the in-game mod manager for some reason). This led through a playthrough of the prologue and poor Gale experiencing The Horrors. He's absolutely having regrets about leaving his tower for the first time in over a year.

Now I'll need to continue just to get the poor man out of The Horrors. Plus his commentary when you examine things with him as the player character is hilarious and definitely justifies another playthrough. His complaints about the lack of comfort in the illithid pods and the weirdness about all the jarred brains made me laugh quite a bit.

And in this alternate reality where he's the hero/leader of the tadfools, his dream guardian is Ven. They wouldn't have been captured by the mind flayers in this reality, but they can be his dream guardian as a little treat.

When the shadar kai to shadar kai communication confuses the rest of the party. I like to headcanon that Ven takes the opportunity to speak their native language for the first time since their arrival in Faerun.

The post-update replay is going...as well as it can. I tried and failed to rescue all the tieflings since Cal and Lia ate it in a Hunger of Hadar and I felt horrible that they died. I did get to recreate Ven's traumatic death from mass needle blight explosion for the angst, so that was good.

And I got to the romance again, so yay!

I just really have a thing for how hands and touch play such a big part of Gale's romance. And the pining in act one.
