What’s up Deathlings. I’m starting to work on my first major piece of art that’s going to take up a good portion of the next 5 years. I’m starting my mangaka career. I’m going to be doing this on the side of my part time job, but I’m ready to move into the post college stage in my life and accomplish more of my life goals. My biggest goals in life are: graduate with a degree from the art institute, create my own manga, and become a rockstar. I’ve accomplished one so far, and now I need to finish off my check list.

While I’m paying off my student loans from my degrees I started a GoFundMe page to help with my start up expenses. It’s just me working on all of this so all the help I can get I’ll appreciate. Check out the link and share this crap everywhere because I want to take off in my jet now!

I’m Rebranding Because I’m Graduated from College and they can’t Tell Me What to do Anymore!

No more of the school trying to brand me in their image. No more of the school to restrict my creativity so much. I can finally be me again! Since I don’t have to worry about portfolio show anymore I am rebranding everything online to fit the XanatosThanatos tagline because that’s what I use for everything online. Time to hide my face and use the artboard to draw me in a cooler way. 

It’s gonna take some time due to my part time job, but my goal is to have everything finished by the end of next week. That’s pretty much it for now. I have some drawing to do.

I started a petition on change.org against Black Lives Matter. I’m done with their violence. Too many of them are not peaceful and kind, and too many of them are criminals and thugs.

This work will be on view at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art in the exhibition “NextNewPaper,” as part of the ICA’s NextNew series where 17 invited artists use paper as their medium, creating works that highlight the endless ways that this material can be manipulated. Opening June 5th, 2016.

In this series I am intrigued by developing a form that does not suggest the fragile, delicate qualities of how one expects paper to be. Rather, I am interested in how paper can assume many identities. This series, like much of my sculptures with books, is a conceptual play on words and meaning

Naturally the first thing I draw with my new tablet is Itachi.  Itachi being all little and full of blood and fighting the war that will forever change him, surrounded by bleeding sakuras… basically suffering.  Pretty much epic win.
