Hi! Are you a posemaker, animator or do you want to be? Your help is needed and much appreciated.

I don’t want MerMay to sink, please help me keep it afloat. Due to circumstances I probably won’t be able to make it, at least not in the early weeks of May. Which saddens me deeply.

I would love to see MerMay turn into one big collab of the Sims community where we keep the days filled.

I am terribly, terribly sorry, I really wanted to make it and it has been my anchor to keep going with school and stay motivated. They returned my projects to me and I have to redo them, the estimated time I am done is 14 May, but I am fighting and hope to be done earlier - things are just not going the way I want to in my life currently 🥹💔

Mer Things

Happy birthday to @theserenadeofshadows , queen of the sea! Melissa asked for something aquatic, and I decided to do a collection of random mer behaviour poses to try and help make storytelling a little easier, because we're all looking forward to her mermaid story returning! Regular emotion poses etc can be used on mermaid rigs, so I thought that some basic swimming poses might be useful?

Pack contains 12 solo poses plus all-in-one. I recommend using TOOL to raise or lower your mer to the desired height. Top tip: you can use the Occult section of MCCC Commands to force your Sim to show their tail! No need to get them wet first!

You will need: - Pose Player - Teleport Any Sim - Island Living EP for mermaids

TOU: you may adjust for personal use to avoid clipping etc., but please do not reupload/paywall/claim as your own.

About the pose pack: Hi I had some eventful weeks and I never imagined that a breast cancer check two weeks before my 24th birthday would be one of these events.

I share this pose pack with you all in hope it raises awareness for breast cancer, but also as a part of processing my experience (it was a bit stressful and rushed) and turning it into something useful or educational.

These poses for the Sims 4 show a clinical breast exam by a GP/health provider and later a breast cancer (ultrasound) screening.

And for who was curious, it didn’t turn out to be cancer, so that is good for me. Go to your health provider when you notice changes of your breast, nipple, skin or any lumps - especially if combined. Look out for those signs:

Hi! Hope you're doing well! It was super cool to see your pose-making process sped up like that! Very satisfying and I love seeing other pose-makers process. You did such a great job with the hands especially!! (I know some people hate posing hands, but even though they can be hard, I find them fun, and I would ALWAYS rather deal with hands and limbs than faical expressions. I can NOT do facial expressions.) Anyways, I have a quick question though: The video was about 11 minutes, but how long did it take you in real-time? I'm always curious how long it takes people to make a full posepack.

Also, this may seem a bit weird and random coming out of the blue, but if you've never heard of PureRef, it's a program that lets you have an "always on top" window where you can copy/paste reference images and then you don't have to tab back and forth between your browser and blender. You can make the window any size you want and put it anywhere on your screen, too.

(Even if you don't end up using it when you aren't recording, it would eliminate the flashing in your videos if you plan to make more of them. Also lets the video viewers get a better look at the reference image(s).)

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I'm telling you what to do or anything. Just wanted to tell you about a really useful little program. (It's free, btw.)

Hi! Oh my gosh, thank you so much! And I kinda like it to pose hands, but they take up a lot of time, glad to have found someone who finds them fun as well ❤️

I had to check it, but the recordings say it took 212 minutes, which would be around 3,5 hours. This didn't include taking the screenshots or editing the previews and I did some of screen edits too after testing them in game (you can see me making puffed cheeks for the holding face pose, but the male Sim didn't hold the female's face in the end but I forgot to remove the puffed cheeks - oops). I have a fun one coming up which took around 17 hours 😂😂

And weird and random is always be welcome, but luckily it is very in context for the speedposing you talked about 🥰 And thank you so much! That would be perfect for when I have one single reference or have them prepared in advance 💪 I tend to work a little bit chaotically and like to scroll Pinterest or Google for in the moment inspiration 🙈

I would like to eliminate or limit the flashing in the videos, so I will look into this, because I see a possibility of cutting out the flashes by having multiple changing references in Blender instead.

No apologies needed, it didn't come across like that, thank you for thinking with me on how to decrease the flashes and sharing the possible sollutions!

Just uploaded my first timelapse/speedposing video (of the Valentine poses)! I got too much recorded content so lets do something with it before the stack grows even more. Happy to share it and a part of this was recorded was during a IG live, so there is a tea break notification at some point that I forgot to edit out 🍵

Please stop paying people to find CC for you

Seriously. Today's discovery - trsimpearls - is making at least $680 a month to download someone else's CC and post in in folders, with almost every folder linked only for Patrons. This is really, really gross.

If you're a CC creator, check if your stuff is there. At least some is on SFS (I don't have the patience to download to see whose stuff - download priority today goes to Civ VII).

If you really want to pay creators, pay people who actually do labour not people stealing stuff. Consider dropping an apologetic tip to a creator whose stuff you found in a CC-dump folder made by someone who only knows how to download and upload files - especially a smaller creator.

And if you appreciate the work I do in supporting mod/CC users and creators, please consider dropping me (luthienrising) a tip on Patreon or Kofi. (And many thanks to my handful of existing Patrons, especially those of you who find over a dollar a month!)

Sims modders/CC creators, this is for you...

PLEASE put your name in your filename. One, someone will have a clue who it's by when they go to find more by you or to finally organize their Mods folder. Two, you're less likely to end up with the exact same filename as another creator.

PLEASE put your name FIRST in your filename. Alphabetization is super useful. It's less useful to alphabetize by the cute name you gave that hair or set of chairs.

PLEASE, for the love of all things Sims, consider not only using your initials. My Mods folder now has three different creators whose files start "MM". There might be even more of you MM's out there.
