After an amazing start #30thbirthday breakfast with @kolsma , Angela, and @joshrox when they started to talk #tattoos on each other. After just a few minutes, they looked at me and remember that I've always talked about a tat but never got one. The pressure of needing to get one had began. As I wussed out, cried, and pleaded I didnt want one because I wasnt ready, it turned out I was. This is a tat I've always wanted but had no idea how, where, or when. Im so happy and appreciative to them to get me to go through with it. I know im a puss, but it was a great 30th to be had. Thank you! Love you all! #tattoo #gay #birthday #firsttattoo #interpreter #interpreting #ASL #gaymer #zebratattoo #walnutcreek #california (at Zebra Tattoo & Body Piercing)

Someone who deserves everything!
Hello friends and family, my name is Geoffery. First and foremost, I would like to take a moment to send out my love and support to the friends and families in Florida. You have everyones support. I hope what I am about to write is inspirational and heartwarming because every time I think about this person, I am instantly inspired to push harder than ever to make a difference in the world.
Every journey through life is different and it is up to the individual to make his or her own choices to get through it. As an individual pushes through life, beautiful moments happen when two paths might cross. I have noticed that some of these paths might be short, while others are long. However, the ones that are forever are the most memorable and cherished. I have been blessed to have a several paths cross my own that are for life, but one particular path I've shared and cherish and feel has made a huge difference in my life is that of my mother, Karen ( http://sword-goddess64.tumblr.com/ ) @sword-goddess64 .
Now, choosing my mom to write about might seem cliché because many talk about their parents, but she truly has made a huge difference in my life. Looking back at my mother’s life and knowing what I know, it hasn’t been easy for her. She has had many obstacles overcome even from her first breath. When she was born, her esophagus wasn’t connected to her stomach, she also has severe case of osteoarthritis requiring countless leg/knee surgeries. Her doctors always told her she couldn’t do certain things because of her disabilities.
Well, I tell you what, my mother is a fighter. With everything she has been through, with everyone telling her she can’t, she succeeded. Doctors told her she wouldn’t be able to drive, walk, or have children. However, as stubborn as my mother is, she drove until the pain became too much to bear; she walks to this day, even though it might lay her out for a week in pain;  and she gave birth to 4 healthy boys to call her own. The strength and power in this woman is incredible and immeasurable.
Remember in grade school when teachers would have students write about their hero? I noticed most students wrote about doctors, police, or or celebrities.  I wrote about my mother. I have always been so proud of her because it felt like she was superwoman. She has always pushed through anything and encouraged me to do the same. She has instilled a perspective in my eyes and a value on my heart on how to always be optimistic and to never let anyone tell me I can’t do something. This alone has made a huge difference in my life. I wonder everyday on what kind of person I would be if I didn’t have her and her superwoman ways to inspire me. Without her, I wouldn’t have graduated from college, I wouldn’t have been able to maintain the health of my compromised immune system, and I wouldn’t have been able to make a difference in other people lives. My mom is proud of what I do everyday and I wouldn’t be here doing it without her. I want to give her the world because I know she deserves it.
Everyday her physical body gets  worse. She's unable to go anywhere or do anything without suffering days of pain. I want to do so much for her: a vacation to Scotland (because that has always been her dream), or having her meet the Panda from her panda cam (because she has been watching online ever since it was born), or building her a deck in the backyard just so she can once again enjoy the sun in her own garden. I want to give her the world.
Looking back on the trials my mother faced daily, and what she faces today and will for the rest of her life - I know she deserves something special. She deserves to be recognized for the amazing human being she is, and I know it would light up her day knowing she can make a difference in other people's lives inspiring them with her story. If she knew that someone would be able to donate to a charity of her choice, she would be tickled pink. My mother is a loving, caring, and stubborn person who wants nothing but the best for people. I hope having read this, you feel inspired to push forward, to never give up even if you are told you can’t, and to make a difference in the world.

This isn’t really playing by the rules of the Gishwhes #GiveLoveToday giveaway, but I wanted to share the sentiment anyway.  There are a lot of people in this community who are excellent at supporting each other, especially during dark times.  This is the kind of spirit that needs to spread to the rest of the world, replacing a society built on fear and hate, with one of love and peace.  We reject archaic notions of “normal” and embrace the beauty of our differences. We are the change we need to make in the world.
