After a long distraction from college and other creative pieces of mine, I have returned to my little railway, and added part two to The Story of Lady. I also got some new human designs bumping around for engines and whatnot, and I cannot wait to describe them when I write about them!
I AM BACK ON THE TRAIN WOOHOO!

The Story of Lady
Finally got my fanfiction brain writing again and was able to finish the first part regarding Lady's origins in my AU! There is more behind the scenes, I just wanted to put this piece out for now as a small taste.

Happy 12/12 day to the emerald Stirling even though I am a day late! Tried to do something for once and went with @pileoftrashsstuff lil sausage engines cause they adorable. Forgive me for inaccuracies, I did this in roughly 3 minutes while at my job (with the worst pen on earth dear lord) and tried to recollected by the best of my ability.

Oh goodness, I've gone into complete overhaul with this (even to making an alt blog lol), but nonetheless I'm super glad you like my progress! If you want, I can share some of the story ideas I have with 'em!
Also, I made six more engines to go with him, with the same sort of infodump style. I just have the fics/posts in the works rn (I'm already at 13 pages on the stories and 7 pages on my characters, with the smallest margins and spaces I can make it.). I have roughly 8 starting points in term of stories: 6 character fics with two already in progress, my engine-human anatomy going off, memes/shitposts galore, and alongside a ton of other ideas mixed about somewhere in my messy cabinet of a head because yes. This just motivated me to keep on it! LET'S GOOOOO!
P.S. I did not have any clue my idea would go this hard with only three months time and I couldn't be happier. :D
My baby boy took nearly a month to make & I am ready to show him off. With 4 or 5 overhauls, way to much researching, my dead sleep schedule, a battle of sickness, & lots of love, here's my OC inspired by @asktrio516's TTTE AU: Timo Riddles, the ex-WD Austerity 2-10-0!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm gonna admit, I tried to do a human ref, but I couldn't get myself to finish it. I did make a Hero Forge of it though, so for now I'm just going to stick with that, as it is 98% of what is there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
First the looks!
Here's his train appearance, thanks to the engine base by @/DanielArkansanEngine from DeviantArt
Tumblr media
& here's the human appearance, thanks to Hero Forge created by Sky Castle Studios
(here's also a link to the 3D version: https://www.heroforge.com/load_config%3D42202693/ )
Tumblr media
Quick note for some parts about the ref: He's 7’, has the 2 wheel configuration, & his whistle is a standard BR steam whistle.
Now the juicy bits:
His numbers were BR No. 70966 & later NS 5000 No. 3653, before being brought to Sodor.
He is privately owned by a well-off businessman/train-enthusiast & his family (Pieter (32, father), Annalise (30, mother), & Jasper (10, child)) as a personal passenger locomotive, & wants to help the other engines when possible. He turned into his human form for the first time when he arrived to Sodor, which was a pretty big shock for him.
His last name is from his designer, Robert Riddles.
Observant, thoughtful, & determined giant. Wears his heart on his sleeve, a smile on his face, & is always willing to lean a hand or ear to anyone he meets. He tries to be a gentlemen, but is seen lost in his own head at times, and can have a low view of himself. He is also a bit of a hopeless romantic.
Has Claustrophobia, Athazagoraphobia (fear of being forgotten), & Thanatophobia (fear of death) due to being abandoned in a shed.
Lives life to the fullest; loving going fast & racing others as much as taking it easy & seeing scenic routes. Is always willing to try new things. Loves to dance & skate. Any music is good to him, but loves classical, waltz, & slow jazz.
He is related to Murdoch & Belle, as a cousin, & has 4 siblings: [LMR 600] Gordon, The Royal Norfolk Regiment ("Royal"), Dame Vera Lynn, & Longmoor.
Would actually be one of the strongest engines on Sodor if going by real power class, as he is an F8 (for comparison, Murdoch is F9). Loves the fact that the only engine he knows that is stronger than him is Murdoch, & can’t help but be proud about it. Is a little competitive in turn.
He doesn’t talk often, having Selective Mutism. He normally greets himself with his whistle & a quite tone if able (if not, he gestures to his name on his sides or on his suit). He has a hard time getting words across mostly. If he gets loud, you did something very wrong or very right.
Loves physical contact. Hugs are his bread and butter, but is fine with a fist-pump, high-five, or handshake too. Is trying to learn BSL.
Anything with coffee, hazelnut, or both.
Enjoys writing. His favorite things to write are fantasy romance, ghost stories, & poems. He also uses his notebooks to write what he needs to say.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now the final part, the backstory I got for him! TLDR: It explains a lot of whys to some points above.
70966 was a freight locomotive for the front lines of the British Army since his completion in 1944. He was lucky enough not to see direct combat, but he still saw what it did to the men he helped: some either came back on a stretcher, bandaged, filthy, or didn’t even come back at all. Yet, he pushed forward. He was going to give it his all for the men who depended on him, even if seeing them in their state greatly saddened him. He knew nothing except for his numbers, build, and his job, but these men gave him purpose, and that was fine by him for the time.
As the war ended, everyone was joyous to be on the winning side, including 70966 initially. But after a realization hit him, 70966 felt off. With war is over, what will he do now? He was built for war, but now it’s done. There was more to him after all of this right? Do I even have a home?
Weeks passed and 70699 was bought off by the Netherlands and renamed as NS 3653. He worked for them as a freighter, happy with having purpose again, but was quickly tossed into an old shed four years later. Disbelief set in 3653, he couldn’t understand. As the days past, rust began to form on his chassis, his black paint falling away. He hoped that the people simply forgot him instead of purposefully abandoning him. He sat there for a long, long time. His hope, though everlasting, was slowly mixing with more conflicting emotions.
One day, as he sat in his shed, something shifted within him from those fiery emotions. Frustration beyond anything he felt. He didn’t know why, maybe it was jealousy when thinking about the humans, moving and seeing life as freely as they did. No grand welcome will ever be for me, he thought, No laughter, no joy, just a pile of junk that has no purpose. I’m just a simple engine in their eyes. Even now as I am rotting away. I’ll most likely be bought off cheap and get scrapped. He growled, “I don’t want to end like this! Why was I even bought in the first place if I was just going to be shoved in this small, disgusting shed? I want to go home, and I know for sure it isn’t here!”
He continued to fume, nothing lit in his empty firebox except anger, “Oh, but the humans can walk, skip, and jump without a single care! They can taste things I only smelled. Played what I could only listen to. Express what I cannot! And what do I get? Apparently an abnormal eye I can’t even see for myself! I am utterly sick of this! Why do I have to sit here? I want out!”
He was unheard, but his emotions continued. A force surged within 3653, A will? A want? “I want to move! I want to be free,” he cried “No more sitting in this dumb shed anymore!” That force pushed harder, begging him onward. “Let me be free! Let me be something useful! Give me a second chance! Let. Me. Change!”
He saw a sudden flash of gold run over him, that strange feeling almost bursting, and shut his eyes. As he opened them slowly, he only saw his rusted buffers and wheels like before. That strange feeling fading away, with his hope along with it. He didn’t have enough Dust to shift to his smaller form, but he has no idea of this at all. He only felt empty now, all that anger gone, only heartbroken. 3653 felt his eyes water, and began to cry, his body creaking as he shuddered. Only the moss along the walls and the stones below heard him, which only made it worse.
More time had passed, and all 3653 could do is sulk. He had tried again and again to summon that strange feeling once more, but it always ended the same. Almost, but out of reach. All he could do was look out the window in front of him. He’d hear birds and see deer now and again, but it couldn’t bring him out of his low spirit. His voice faded away as he felt no need to speak, and he continued to feel more and more hopeless. He wouldn’t speak or move for years.
One silent day, he heard laughter. Laughter from a child. No, he was simply going crazy. He looked outside. To his surprise, there was a young boy trying his best to balance on the rails leading up to his shed. Behind the boy, two loving parents. 3653 could only watch as the young boy looked up, and saw the shed. He pointed towards it looking back at his parents, and ran up to it. The parents quickly caught up, the father squinting through the dirty glass out of curiosity, then surprise. His mouth moved as he spoke with the woman next to him, and 3653 heard metal screech in protest from the door. He heard grunting as the door finally gave way. The engine felt wind rush onto him, the smell of pine an invitation, and saw the two adults looked up in surprise, seeing the rusted body. The child immediately ran to the engine, eyes full of wonder, with 3653 looking down at the child with a small smile.
The father edged closer to the engine, almost with the same wonder as his son in his eyes. The man placed a hand on the rusted buffer. Not a word was spoken, and there wasn’t a need for one. The father’s face changed to sadness he looked up to the other. That same smile still stood on the engine, maybe even stronger now.
“Pieter,” the wife peeped, “Is everything alright?”
The father took a moment, keeping contact with 3653, “No. No it is not. This engine…” he trailed off, “It needs help.”
The wife stepped forward, uncertain, “But it doesn’t look functional at all, look at it. Rusted all over. Weeds in the wheels. I don’t understand why you would want to save this thing, I wonder if it can even move anymore.”
3653’s smile lowered as he listened, almost agreeing with the wife. “No,” stated the father bluntly. Both the engine and the wife looked in surprise, “The rust and weeds are because whoever owned him couldn’t give the care it truly deserved. I don’t see just a simple machine, I see a grand marvel of a time when I was young. My father worked on engines his whole life, and his final wish was for me to give engines, at least one engine, another chance at life if I could. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here today Annalise.”
3653 was speechless, even if he was already unable to talk. Hope bubbled once more in his boiler, and he felt his eyes water. The father looked up with a determined look, “I want this engine out of this nasty shed when we come back. It at least deserves to see what is beyond it.” The wife grimaced, but stayed silent, eyeing the engine once more.
“Are you going to name it?” The boy asked with excitement.
“Yes Jasper, I already have an idea,” he looked down as his son. “What about…Timo, off my late father Timothy?" 3653's smile came back, bigger and brighter than ever.
"Oh I cannot wait to get you repaired,” Pieter beamed with the engine.
Timo ran the name through his mind, and he couldn’t remove his smile on his face. He couldn’t wait to see where this new family will take him. I'm finally going to have a home!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's Timo for ya! I had a lot of fun writing out this fella. I didn't put who he'd be friends with n all, as I am still figuring that part out. I might do a later post about it depending on how my college semester goes. I hope this was fun to read, and huge, HUGE kudos for @asktrio516 again for inspiring me to make this. This was the first creative thing I truly tried to flesh out since high school, so doing those deep dives felt almost rejuvenating. Have a good'n!

Welcome to the Silver Southeastern Railway!
Ran by @caramellvibecheck, this little fleet of characters was made cause...why not? I don't know, the idea had me hostage for 3-4 months.
I'm not use to making introductions, but I do want to put some starter info here just in case:
I am a young adult who simply likes the RWS, Thomas and Friends, and anything related to TTTE. Anything else will be on my main blog.
I like shitposts and memes
I work with mature themes, so don't be surprised if you see some mature stuff and swear words here.
I have a hard time getting things done, so writing chapters can take a long time for me. Doesn't help that I'm in college atm- I'll try to be active, but it can be hard for me to handle my outside-of-internet life.
I block spammers. Please for the love of God don't spam asks. If I have already replied to the ask, I will link to it.
My stories uses premises seen in @asktrio516's human-engines, such as their strength, the option to eat, and leg wheels when in human form. This does not mean in any way I'm ripping off or such, I just enjoy and agree with those aspects that I incorporate them into my stories. Plus, I feel it gives a way of thanking her for being one of my main sources of inspiration when making this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now some basic questions in case I have to repeat myself:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who's your favorite engine(s)?
Edward, Diesel, Murdoch, and Duncan.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. What made you create this blog and get into TTTE?
Mostly because I stumbled onto @asktrio516's blog one day and then watched a lot of Unlucky Tug afterwards. I remember seeing the show as a kid, and I did remember liking it. I was mostly curious if the fandom was still kicking, and it was, as it kicked me into the rabbit-hole you are now reading.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Do you do art?
Not really, mostly I use Hero's Forge for visual references and write about additional factoids. I'll more likely commission someone than anything.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Is there a focused time where the SSER takes place?/Do you focus on the books, model era, or cgi era?
I'm not sure? BWBA and AEG does not exist in this, cause fuck Mattel, but otherwise not really? I will make a solid timeline though, as I do enjoy a timeline that doesn't mess stuff up. Character development will also be important for me, so it could depend on how I want to write out the arcs. WW2 stuff will be mentioned, alongside certain years, but it defiantly won't be modern times where cellphones and Tumblr exists. Best point I can place, if it was in a time where the SSER really kick in, it is in the surrounding years of dieselization.
If I had to pick an era for my blog...I'll be pulling from all the sources I can get, so I can fully understand the character and work from there. I will do my best to stay faithful to the source, but this is my story to tell. My biggest difference would defiantly be from TATMR, but I will still incorporate aspects from it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Is there magic in this AU?
YES! Cry as I might, I still have a soft spot for TATMR.
Their main ability is to shift from engine to human forms thanks to Lady and her Golden Dust. All engines do have to be taught on how to use their abilities, but do know basic aspects of themselves (their build, basic functions, emotions, etc.). Certain aspects of their work before interacting with the Dust however, such as war, can also cause a variety of additional knowledge, such as having the ability to talk in multiple languages with little or no difficulty. Think of it as like reading to a baby before they are born. If asked what they did before the Dust was introduced, they can only remember events as a hazy dream or have no memory of it at all.
An example of this would be Oswald. He was built in America and was sent to Europe to aid in the war efforts, mostly staying in France with both English-speaking and French-speaking men working on him. Because of this, he is able to understand and speak both French and English when awoken by the Dust. He also knows he helped the Allies by pulling trains in France, but doesn't know what exactly was on his train or what occurred during.
I'm working on a story or Lady & D10, but it is going to take time so bare with me on it. Also there is such a thing as ghosts in my stories, so other mystical creatures could be seen as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. What happens to and engine when they get hurt?
I go with @asktrio516's take on this, in that they can bleed a dark blood that never runs out. The blood, depending on the engine though, is different when compared: Steam engine blood is thinner or more watery to a diesel engine, which has more of an oily sheen when spilt. This also goes for other liquids too. It doesn't mean that either blood type has a negative affect on them, but it's treated similar to how humans learned not to mix blood types together.
Injuries also apply similarly, except for three key factors:
If an injury is grave enough, the ability to shift between forms is stopped until repairs or natural healing has occurred. A paper cut for example won't stop shifting, but the aftermath from a high-speed derailment or a broken limb can.
Golden Dust helps speed up the healing process, but it can still take weeks before shifting is allowed again.
Because of this, engines are required to have at least one human with them, nicknamed 'Drivermen' by the engines. They see them as a 2-in-1 of the driver and fireman roles. The engines themselves can still fuel themselves and work on their own fine, but if a injury occurs or if they need someone to go get help, the driverman would be there to fill in that need.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Do the engines have rights?
Well...engines aren't innately seen as people in my story. Mostly it depends on the Controller involved. Some can be father-like, like the Fat Controller or the Old Silver Controller, and others will scrap an engine without a second thought. Many do support the engines, but by a full-blown political/legal stance, they got nothing aiding them. They are seen as a sort of like pet. Very expensive pets that can talk.
All engines do want to work though, as it gives them value, but they see no use in things such as money (unless they like collecting it or something). They might be rewarded for good work with better coal or something the engine may want, but again, that is dependent on the controller the engine is working with.
