Tips for Beautiful Skin
Why God, why? Is flawless skin just too much to ask for? A late night leads to dark circles in the morning. Got an upcoming party? Oh wait, I spy a zit. Yes Yes, we are well aware of the basic CTM technique (Cleanse- Toner- Moisturizer). We try every new face wash, sun-screen, anti-aging cream that hits the market.
We are ever so willing to try anything under the sun to get beautiful skin. But it is not an overnight miracle. The flawless, blemish and acne-free skin that you’ve always desired is no more a dream, but a reality.
Here are some brilliant tips for your face to get that glow you’ve always wanted. Tackle your skincare issues and follow these tips regularly to get beautiful skin naturally.
1. THE GOLDEN RULE- Make sure you always and I mean always remove your makeup before hitting the sheets. The skin needs to breathe overnight. Makeup prevents that, as leaving it on overnight clogs the pores which may cause blemishes and blackheads. Don’t possess a makeup remover? just put some olive oil on a cotton pad and gently massage the oil onto your face to get rid of the makeup and dirt.
2. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT- Keep a note of what you put on your plate. Eat fresh fruits, greens, sufficient protein and vitamins. A diet rich in vitamin C and low in fats and sugar, promotes radiant skin. Consider a low-sugar diet, which can keep insulin levels down, allowing cells to maintain a healthy balance.
3. BEAUTY SLEEP- Try to sleep at least 8 hours every night. If you don’t get enough shut eye, your skin gets tired just like you. It sags and you get bags. So don’t risk it. You can also apply honey on your face twice or three times a week to naturally soothe and heal your skin.
4. GO BACK TO YOUR ROOTS- Use this simple yet effective scrub to nourish the skin, and help it breathe better. Luckily, everything you need is already in your kitchen. Take 2 tablespoon chickpea flour, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, a pinch of camphor and sandalwood powder with either rose water/milk or water to make your perfect skincare pack.
5. SPA DAY EVERYDAY- Always have a regular skincare regimen. For dry skin, use a fresh Aloe Vera mask. Apply the pulp of the Aloe Vera on your face before going to bed. Leave for 15- 30 minutes and wash with luke-warm water. Don’t forget to pamper yourself. A gentle facial massage with oils could work wonders. Depending on your skin type, choose oils from mustard, coconut and almond as they are excellent nourishing agents which will help to get glowing skin.
Remember to adapt a healthy living with healthy practices to get the beautiful skin you always dreamt of. Excited, happy or stressed, it’s your face that gives you away.

Hi there!!! I am The Skincare Guru. Welcome to my blog! I live on the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Throughout my self-discovery journey as a simple minded teenager to now an educated and informed young adult, I have discovered that when we feed our body, mind, and soul properly, the body responds in a beautiful way.

My aim is to empower my active readers to disregard harmful and toxic products of the standard beauty industry and consider using naturally organic healthy alternatives to make their skin “radiate their natural beauty”.
My personal passion for skincare encouraged me to pursue a facial course, with the intention of expanding my knowledge on the various natural products that can be used on all skin types. Upon completion of the course, I am now a firm believer of the saying “Natural and organic is the way nature intended”. I occasionally perform facial sessions, for my family and friends who can attest to the results they see and how they feel.
