-So glad this competition was super fun and engaging! Ngl, the pre votes made me a bit nervous due to it having low submissions and then setting every thing was a ton of work due to the long titles but again thx you all for voting! I love hearing people’s thoughts and analytics to R&M so reading reblogs and comments made me chuckle and it was very nice to engage with the RnM fandom ✨ :)

-The fact that Close Rick counters and Ricklantis mix up, both most talked about episodes in the show, lost early in the competition shocked me a bit! They both brought something deep to the show.

-No one asked for Pickle Rick but testing and seeing if we pass the “pickle Rick stereotypical dude bro kinda stage” and seeing it was one of the lowest voted was a relieve (and if your favorite was pickle Rick. I mean I see it what you’re saying LOL).

-The vat of acid seems to also be a fan fav but in my opinion that episode was kinda a bummer because the way Morty was treated.

-So glad a Jerry episode got top 4

-Shocking but not that some of the top episodes was Rick Prime centric.

Did Unmortricken deserve to win over Rickshank Rickdemption ?

Depends on who you ask! Both have big wins. First off, this was the first time we saw Ian shine as Rick with both amazing performances with Rick and Rick Prime. Second, Evil Morty still gets a win even if Ricklantis mix up lost and also the start of the Morty and evil Morty bonding art YES! The soundtrack and fight sequence was just chef kiss. Is Morty good in this episode? He was decent. Anyways- I do say Rickshank Rickdemption was very good with its timing and characterization with Morty’s and Summer’s character really shines through here. Reading each reblog made me realize how both impactful these episodes are when they both first aired. Tbh, if I did watch Rickshank Rickdemption when it aired- maybe a vote?? The very first episode I watch of rnm was the S4 finale 😭- Unmortricken woke me up and hyped me up after a long day and that’s why it had my vote. I couldn’t stop yapping about it for days. Also the hug ughhh-

In conclusion, in my humble opinion- night family and the gay birdrick episode should’ve went higher 😭/lh

How are we all doing?

Hmmm... maybe it is a good thing I have a variety of mugs I can use. Poor Mr Meeseeks here is starting to look a bit more tired. I'm not going to retire him yet, I reckon he still has a fair few cups of tea left in him!

I'm looking for some new snack ideas too. I have a very sweet tooth, but I need to be a bit more careful with my choices. If only I could get Rick to concoct a suitable snack for me! I have no idea what I am looking for. I have been craving more savoury items recently, but apart from salt and vinegar crisps, nothing else seems appealing.

Just noticed that the Crow Rick scenes look softer and less crisp than the rest of the episode. I'm not an anime expert, but maybe it's another reference to that animation style?

We need to bring back "No answer is an answer" and "If they wanted to, they would." I'm so sick of this modern friendship culture that tells people "Your friends are going to ghost you for weeks and leave you wondering if they still consider you a friend, and you're a selfish asshole if you don't chase after them and put up with their silence or bored, dismissive responses and immediately drop everything when they want to vent about their lives!"

Nope, sorry, I don't consider you a friend if you refuse to acknowledge me unless you want something 🤷‍♀️ That's not being "bad at texting," that's just seeing me as a tool instead of a person.

This commission that I ordered from vennro0 (Twitter) is one where X-216 Rick really looks like a Rick. Smart, angry and fierce, he's seen something that made him bare his teeth. Who knows what's casting light across his face and glasses, but if somebody thinks they can mess with him, they should ask a certain Rick in a black coat how that turned out.

I love his thick, messy hair and how the light outlines the sharp edges on his face and throat. The dark color scheme makes me imagine him walking down a dim street or alleyway, maybe on an industrial planet. X-216 is a man of contradictions: his coat is subconsciously his security blanket that he uses to hide from the world, but he also carries a knife in the inner pocket.

Just a quick primer for anyone who might not know:

The reason JK Rowling was able to so effectively silence Rikvah Brown, the journalist who (entirely accurately) called her a Holocaust denier for denying trans people were ever targeted by the Nazis, is because British libel laws are completely and utterly broken.

In the US, the First Amendment places the burden of proof on the complainant, reflecting the importance of freedom of speech in the constitution: if you're going to challenge someone's right to free speech, you need concrete evidence that what they're saying is untrue and that they are doing so deliberately and maliciously.

In the UK, however, the burden of proof falls upon the accused. They have to PROVE that what they're saying is true, and the standard of proof required is exceedingly difficult to meet; you can't, for instance, find an earlier example of the same claims being made and state you were (mistakenly or not) taking your cue from that. Even allegations in an arrest warrant are not accepted as reasonable evidence upon which to make disputed claims. For British journalists, a libel case is as good as a death sentence for your story.

Because of the impossibility of fighting a libel case, the threat alone is usually enough to silence and cow dissent. Rikvah Brown said she simply didn't have “the financial resources to engage in a legal battle with Rowling", and in such an outmatched fight Rowling was able to demand whatever she wanted of her - not only a retraction of her claim, but an apology to boot.

This is how the UK has fostered a culture of "open secrets", where certain things are known but never mentioned, often until it's too late. From the harmless - Benjamin Britten's homosexuality - to the grotesque - Ryan Giggs' affair with his sister-in-law - to the truly monstrous - Jimmy Savile's and, more recently, Russell Brand's stranglehold over stories of their serial sexual predations. It creates a society where, in the words of one journalist, "bad people get away with bad things".
