Is this the same Knox she had dated? He actually owns his own company now? For some reason she found that hard to believe, but knowing Vera and her kind heart, she took his words to be honesty. “Wow, what kind of business did you start up for yourself?” She breaks off a piece of the muffin for herself and pops it in her mouth, she can’t wait to tell a few of her friends who she ran into today. They would all probably get a kick out of it....more so than she is right then.
Knox + Vera
Knox smiles as he pops a plump chunk of muffin into his mouth. He knows it must irk Vera to no end, and that’s primarily why he does it. He doesn’t even like strawberry all that much. He shrugs his shoulders, playing coy in response to her inquiry at first. “Yeah, you could say that.” Not just a new job but a whole company, in fact. She probably wouldn’t believe that he, of all people, was the founder and sole owner of a successful business. “Not too long ago—I started my own company. Best thing I ever did. I don’t answer to anybody, I make whatever hours I want. To tell you the truth, I’m making serious bank.”
