Who am I...

Sometimes it's weird to write an ~introduction~ post because I don't feel like I know myself! I think I'm always learning who I am and meeting myself... but sometimes I wish I had more of a sense of self! It's really easy to believe people when they say things that are unkind about me because I don't have a solid foundation of personhood to fall back on. What I want to believe is "Star is a good person" and "Star wants the best for everyone" but sometimes I worry those things aren't true. But if I say them enough and work towards them, I can make them true! But what if I still don't believe?

I feel like I keep apologizing to my past self for the things I'm doing to my present self.

Introduction (24/2/2025)

Hi, call me Star! I'm a college student studying writing. I started this blog so I'd have somewhere to journal for fun. I'll probably use this to ramble about my thoughts, talk about my interests, etc!

I'm a young woman with a lot of hobbies and interests! I love reading, writing, drawing, music, philosophy, crafts, skateboarding, fly-fishing, and hiking! Ask me anything <3

Star's Diary Entries - Daily-ish(?) diary entries with specific events that happened in my day or just rambling about what happened and what I'm thinking about.

Star's Ramblings - Rambling about some thoughts I had randomly. Likely shorter than full diary entries.

Star's Thoughts - Super short thoughts. Like a line or two!

Star's Interests - Talking about the things I like. I have a lot of interests and I like talking about them a lot.

Star's Serious - Posts regarding serious subjects as I'm dealing with some pretty heavy things in my personal life right now. These posts will be tagged accordingly! May sometimes dip into the venting zone.

Star's Reblogs - Just a special tag for when I reblog things, in case you'd prefer not to see those (or prefer to ONLY see those, whatever floats your boat).

Star's Poetry - I like writing poetry sometimes. It's not perfect but it's mine!

Today was kind of a hard day, even though it shouldn't have been. My first class of the day was cancelled so what am I even bellyaching about? But I guess I'm a little disappointed because I was supposed to go on a date with a girl I like but she had to reschedule (NOT her fault she had a valid reason). I didn't know until I had gone all the way to the restaurant and then it was embarrassing when I had to tell them I was leaving. It was fine, I took a nice walk, that's healthy for me anyway.

It's way warmer lately, at least I feel like it is. 6 degrees (Celsius) isn't that warm, I'll admit, but it's warm enough that I don't need a jacket anymore! That's enough for me! My weather app says it'll be 10 degrees tomorrow. <3 Hope so. I rarely use my weather app. I mostly just go outside and see what's up, and then go back for a coat if I need one. But I'm always too lazy to go back so I just end up being cold!

I finished Invincible (at least all the episodes that are out right now) and it reignited my passion for Radiohead for some reason. I can't even remember what episode plays this song but I love Karma Police.

Anyway let's get to it...the reason I'm here! I had this epiphany recently like...I hate social media? A lot! But I loved having a journal Tumblr when I was 13 years old. Why don't I just go back to that? So hi and welcome. I'm a college student. These are all my thoughts, read them if you want to! You don't have to. You don't have to do anything you don't want to. There's always a way out.
