Head canon: Kylo ren x reader
Imagine being a princess of a country that the First Order needs an alliance with and falling for Kylo Ren. - - Yes being a princess is great and all, but no one cares what you have to say. - It’s really irritating bc you care about your people and you know what’s good for them bc you’ve been preparing to be a ruler your whole life. - But on your planet, a female ruler is laughable. - The First Order really wants your alliance and you sit in on a lot of meetings while your father and his advisors talk. - Someone informs Supreme Leader Kylo Ren that your father really cares about your opinions, but besides that, you have no real authority on anything important. - Kylo kind of just assumes that you’re uninterested in anything too political until he notices that you’re the only one in the meetings paying attention to every detail and bringing up questions on specific matters. - For a moment, he’s reminded of his mother in a way that he doesn’t want to think about. - You’re not afraid of the order, and if you are, you’re pushing it aside to advocate for your people. - To the point where your slightly younger brother is mad. - Yes, he’s younger, and he still gets the throne which is so offensive to you, but whatever. - “y/n, stop worrying about peasants, our survival is the most important, you’re wasting their time.” - You looked your brother in the eye and said, “Funny. You’d think a future king would care more about his people than whether he can afford his extravagant parties.” - Tbh Kylo became so interested after that. - Your brother is pissed that he’s being embarrassed. “You’re a woman, you shouldn’t even be allowed in here. Father coddles you too much.” - “And you’re a selflish, egotistical—“ - “y/n.” Your father cut you off. “Son, y/n has a lot of compassion and she’s good at paying attention to detail, which is good for ruling.” - You push back your emotions and focus on making corrections to political documents. - “It must be so frustrating.” - This is your first time being addressed by Kylo Ren and you know he has a temper. The thing is you’re a very reactive person so you really have to try to not get him to want to kill you. “What is?” - “Being the most qualified person in the room and knowing you’ll never have the position.” No one had ever spoken to you so honestly. Your predicament was always the elephant in the room. - “I don’t care about power or titles, I just want to help people—my people.” - Kylo is used to people acting like they don’t want power, but when he looks at you—when he gets into your head—he sees that you aren’t lying. - It almost scares him, how genuinely unselfish you are when it comes to power. - He needs a moment before continuing. “Get your father to sign the contract and you will have the First Order backing you up when it comes to leading your country.” - Ngl you were hella tempted. “How could I be a good queen if I got the position by locking my kingdom—my people—in something that hurts them. The alliance will have my support if, at the end of the meetings, I think it’s in the best interest of my people.” - This is Kylo, so he’s honestly a little mad. He was just handing you everything you’ve wanted since birth, and you rejected it. It felt like a personal rejection. But there’s another part, that’s just the slightest bit relieved (and maybe a little happy) that you are what you seem. - He wouldn’t say that to you, though. “I thought you were smarter than that.” - He turns to leave and you say, “I thought the same thing about you.” - After that, Kylo does more than make sure you’re listened to in meetings, he asks for your opinions. - Having someone do that made you so happy (not that you’d show it). - Also for some reason that no one knows Kylo basically ignores your brother (it’s not bc he’s an ass to you or anything, no. ;)) - Kylo talks to you after meetings now. - You’re kind of friends but neither of you would admit to it. - You ask him to show you force stuff sometimes. It’s v cool to you. - You tell each other a lot of stuff you’d normally never tell anyone. - There is one thing neither of you mention: the fact that you both have PHAT crushes on each other. - That is until marriage gets talked about. - See, being a princess means arranged marriage and part of the alliance contracts dealt with who you could potentially marry bc then that kingdom would also have to join the First Order’s alliance. - Kylo is super salty that whole time. - He storms out. - You dont know why. - You find him after the meeting and when you ask him what’s wrong. - Instead of answering the question he just kisses you. - It’s short bc Kylo pulls away to ask if you’re okay with this. - You definitely are. - “What’s wrong is I don’t want you marrying anyone else.” - Any other person would have swooned. - You were on the inside, but that’s not how you were raised. - “Kylo, these feelings are momentary. Think about it this way, if we form an alliance, marrying me off is an easy way to get a large country to join you.” - Kylo doesn’t see it that way, though. He thinks you’re trying to gently reject him. “You don’t want this.” - You can tell that when he says ‘this’ he means ‘me’. “Kylo,” you grab his hands so he can’t turn away from you. “I do want this. I want you, but my entire life has never been about what I want.” - “Can’t you be selfish, this one time.” - “Kylo, both me and my father think this alliance is a good idea. So, really, this would be hurting you in the future. Think of the power the country of my most determined suitor offers.” - You’re not wrong. Prince Xavier has been trying to marry you since forever and his country builds a lot of weapons, is rich, and controls most ports. - You expect that to be the end of it, because Kylo loves his power. - Instead, he kisses you harder than before. He says his next sentence in between kisses. “I. Don’t. Care.” - You’re smiling so wide. “I never thought we’d form an alliance, let alone have this happen.” - “I didn’t think you would either.” He looks down at your hands. “I think you’ll make an amazing queen.” - “No one would let me.” - “Dont worry about that.” Kylo whispers, and you don’t even want to know what he means by that. - “I also think you’d make an amazing advisor.” - “Advisor?” - “Come with me when I leave. Your father is doing a good job and he’s healthy and your talents are being wasted here settling small disputes.” - With no reluctance, “Yes.”

Avengers Endgame imagine prologue.
A/n a short intro into this story.
Summary: you were a tween/young teen when you died in 2012. When Steve and Tony go back, Tony decides to fix a mistake because he never should have had the lose the girl who he saw as a daughter.
There you are. Well, Tony can’t see you, but he can see the door to your room. You two decorated the outside of it when you were seven. There’s a picture of you and Tony in the lab, you’re laughing.
He remembers that as the first day you controlled your fire powers for a moment. He called you the firecracker.
Steve had told Tony not to talk to you. He said that it would hurt to see you today, of all days. But screw it, it’s hurt every single day.
Peter reminds him of you. Both too smart, powerful. Tony wonders what you would have looked like if you had been able to be Peter’s age.
“Tony, it wasn’t you’re fault.” Steve says over the ear piece.
“Rogers, she wasn’t even an avenger yet. She just ran out there to save some people stuck in a building and then she saw Loki. She almost had him, but then the building collapsed and almost crushed her. Then I yelled at her so she tried running away. The taxi she got in it…”
Steve doesn’t let himself think about it. “You couldn’t have known.”
“Steve, she used to look up to you. She loved uncle Steve. And now you’re not even going to—“
“You’re right, Tony.” Steve cuts him off. “Y/n wouldn’t have wanted us to risk the timeline by saving her.”
“Did you know I got the official adoption papers and the call saying she died on the same day?” Tony can feel tears forming behind his eyes. “You didn’t? Because I didn’t tell anyone.”
“Tony, just…” Steve hesitates. “Be careful.”
“What’s the time?”
“Why does it matter.”
Tony lets out a breath. “3:34 PM. Y/n left at 3:34 PM.”
“We’ve got about ten minutes.” Steve clears his throat. “After that, back to the stones.” Suddenly, Steve laughs over the intercom. “Do you think things would’ve gotten that bad between us if y/n had been around? Because I doubt she would have let us…”
Tony manages to smile and it’s natural. “That firecracker would have kicked our asses.”
Steve sighs. “Give me a minute. I want to see her.”
“Whatever you say, Rogers.”
Y/n’s ‘don’t talk to me music’ is blasting so loud Tony can make out the words.
“Y/n/n,” he knocks on the door, “can we talk?”
Footsteps. Angry ones. Then you throw the door open. Tony had forgotten how pretty you were and how expressive your eyes could be. All the pictures he held on to did you no justice.
“I thought you said all you had to out there?” You cross your arms. “In front of the avengers. I’m not a baby anymore Tony and you’re not my dad.”
Tony doesn’t hear your anger, only your voice. The voice he’s missed. Tony hugs you and you’re too surprised to hug him back.
“Tony?”
“I didn’t want to lose you.” Tony admits. “I saw the building fall, I saw how bloody your arm looked. I’m sorry.”
Tony had never sounded so sad. “I’m sorry. You said I wasn’t ready, but I saw the opportunity to…I don’t know…impress you.” You look down. “You said you were disappointed and that’s why I got so mad because I just want to make you proud.”
“Kid, you always make me proud. No matter what.” Tony moves so that he can look at you. “My dad wasn’t great at this stuff, and neither am I…I’m not saying I’m your dad, but if I was…I’d be so happy to have you as a daughter and you’d know it.”
The smile you give him makes the awkwardness melt away. “You’re a great dad.”
Both of you notice the fact that you use present tense, but neither of you mention it.
You wipe at tears with the arm that isn’t in a cast. “I’m a mess,” you joke. “I need some air after all that, so I was wondering if I could take a cab to—“
“No.” His words are sharp. “Promise me you won’t.”
“You’re not my Tony, are you?”
“I’ll explain everything one day. I promise. Just stay here for the rest of the day.”
You nod your head. “Okay.”

Being Tom Holland’s costar and falling in love
Headcanons about being in the FFH cast and Tom and you end up falling in love/dating. ** hella fluff ~~ • Alright let’s start on your acting background. You had several small roles in main stream shows/movies. You had played Lara Jean’s friend in To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before, you had guest starred on black•ish and Superstore. You were even in an episode of the office as a kid/teen for two episodes. What really jumped your career was when you played the girlfriend of a main character in Modern Family, people thought you were so funny and amazing. • Anyways, you eventually got cast in Spider-Man: Far From Home. You were playing Zendaya’s (MJ’s) old family friend who was moving to New York to stay with MJ for awhile. • So you and Z meet after a few auditions (you’re a top contender) they have you read a scene with Z and that’s how you first meet and you guys get along great. The casting directors really believe you two as good/old friends. • You were really nervous at first, because Zendaya is a big deal, but she’s amazing. • Then they’re like ‘great now read this scene with Tom Holland’. • You weee lkke ‘slow down a minute’. You were low key freaking out tbh, because you may or may not have a bit of a crush on Tom Holland and you don’t want to blow this. • Tom is super nice. The first thing he brings up is Modern Family. You’re screaming inside because he knows you. • Tom freaking Holland knows you. • the thing is you have to be professional, so you hide your excitement as well as you can. • They have you reas more scenes with Tom than they did with Z. They’re different, some are meant to be light/funny, some are serious, and most of them are romantic. • One of the scenes that you do is from Freinds. It’s the Rachel and Ross one where they break up Bc they were on a break. • You manage to get some good tears out when Rachel is like ‘I thought you would never hurt me’. • Thw thing is you want from 0 to 100 real quick with those years so for a second Tom was like ‘are you okay’ and you laughed, wiped your tears, and told him you were just acting. • After that you and Tom talk. Eventually, you have to leave so that the next girl can go. • About two weeks later, your agent calls you and is like you did it. • You freak out and get all the details. • Eventially you go on set and start filming. You love every second of it, the cast is a lot like family. Everyone’s so nice you and Z are basically best friends. • They’re all follow you on Instagram and you’re always posting set videos. • Spider-Man fans feel out and all start following you/lowkey stalking your account. Mainly because of how cute you and Tom are. • Let me elaborate... • In almost all the pictures and videos, you and Tom are right next to each other. • Z posts a snap story of a cast movie night? You can bet that you and Tom start off next to each other and then end up sharing a blanket and cuddling. Everyone notices. • Harrison posts a picture of you all at a restaurant? You just happen to be leaning your head on Tom’s shoulder. • Are you two saying? No. Honestly, you aren’t (yet hehe), but both of you want to be. • Tom thinks you’re an amazing actress, funny, cute, and just a fantastic person. You feel the same way, but you really don’t want to be rejected. Neither does he, so you just settle with being friends. • It’s killing everyone. Especially since it’s jusy so obvious to everyone but you two. • Tom and you get so jealous when it comes to each other’s attention. Not in like a mean way... • One day you go out to lunch and then to the mall with just Z, and when you get back Tom is just so butthurt. You try explaining that he was busy and that he would have been bored. • Home boy is not having it and won’t stop pouting. You sigh deeply. He keeps acting like he’s been betrayed. You shut him up with a hug and tell him that you missed him and that you guys could do something later. • Tom wasn’t expecting you to hug him, especially while he was being kind of irritating, so homie just kind of melts. • Zendaya is in the background while all of this is happening and she’s just like please. Date. Already. • You get salty when Tom doesn’t pay attention to you during one movie night and sits next to Jake Gyllenhaal and you’re like fine. • You talk to Harrison, Jacob, and Z the whole time. You ignore Tom for awhile too. • Does this seem too petty? Well sitting next to each other during movie night is your thing and he threw a hissy fit when you did stuff without him, so you were like this is fair. • It takes him forever to figure out why you’re mad. When Tom does he finds it so funny. You remind him of what happened earlier with Z. • Tom doesn’t want you to ignore him anymore so he just hugs you because it worked when you did it to him. • “You’re cute when you’re jealous.” • “Shut up, Holland. I’ll replace you with Daya so fast.” • “Why are you still hugging me then?” • He sounds so smug and it’s not your fault that he’s warm and he smells nice. • “I’m just...cold.” • “Sure.”

Us (Klaus Hargreeves x reader)
A/n first time writing for TUA!! A bunch of little moments between you and Klaus leading up to your relationship. At the end there’s the Hargreeves’ reaction to it. You stare down at your clipboard, and your h/c strands of hair fall in your face. After awhile, tucking it behind your ears doesn’t seem good enough, so you pull an elastic off your wrist and quickly pull your hair up, tying it back. “Oh, shut up. Would you just go away?” You snap your head up. “Excuse me?” Klaus holds back a side, everyone here got used to him randomly yelling at the ghosts (only they just assumed withdraw had him hearing voices). No one really questioned it, or took offense, anymore. Then he looks at you, and realizes he’s never seen you before. He would have remembered seeing someone that looked like you. “Not you.” Klaus manages, losing his typical calm facade. You look both ways. “...I’m the only one in here?” Klaus pinches the space between his eyebrows; the drugs made these things tolerable; now, he’s going to have to watch you think he’s insane. He doesn’t want you to, and he wishes he knew why he cared. Maybe some part of him wanted a chance with you (he has no idea what he means by ‘chance’ with you); then he reminds himself that you probably work here, which means you already see him as a crazy addict and he has no chance. “Trust me, it’s not you. Don’t make me explain it.” You tilt your head a bit, interested. “Intrigue.” He rolls his eyes slightly. “Don’t.” “Don’t what?” You press, smiling in a way that Klaus swears to remember. “Press.” He looks down, trying to snap out of it. “There’s no intrigue. I’m just losing it without my stuff.” You know what he means by stuff. Of course you do, it’s a rehab center, and Klaus is trying to gently remind you that he’s a drug addict. Maybe if he scares you away, it’ll be easier. He could just remember the attractive stranger that had this radiant smile and took him seriously. Fortunately, you don’t scare easy. “Really? If I was losing my mind here, it would be because of Mitchell Hudson and Ryan Blake and the fact that every ten minutes they yell the same phrases at each other while playing Uno.” “Well, that, too...” Klaus feels himself ease up. “So are you checking out today?” You ask, noticing his things. “Yep.” He pops the ‘p’. Klaus gets ready to leave, and you’re still following him. He realizes he has to say it so that you stop. That way he can’t get his hopes up. “Stop trying to get rid of her.” Ben sighs. “She’s starting to like you and you’re starting to like her.” “Ben, look at her, she looks like the poster child for helping old ladies cross the street and feeding the neighbor’s cat.” “So...too slow for you? Maybe she’d do you some good.” Ben insists. Klaus sighs once again. “I’d mess her up.” “Yeah right.” “Shut up.” “I’m hoping it’s still not me.” You chime in. Klaus turns to you. “No.” Before you can talk about anything else, Klaus blurts something out. “I see ghosts. I was talking to one, okay?” You stand there, taken a back. Klaus realizes he was right. He throws Ben an ‘I told you so look’ before marching out of the rehab center. A few seconds later, something unexpected happened. “Okay, you can’t just say that and then walk away.” “And you followed.” Klaus sighs. “Are you sure? About the ghosts?” “You think I’m crazy.” “No, I just want the full story. It’s a big thing to just blurt out.” - Klaus thought that he’d never see you again. He was very wrong, because that was the story of how he met the person he cared about most. That’s how you both met the person you cared about most. “Y/n, lovely, I could kiss you.” Klaus exclaims when you hand him over your newest eyeliner, even though you swore you’d never lend eyeliner to him again because he kept losing them, or breaking them on accident. “Thank you.” “Last time, I swear.” You both know you’re bluffing. Klaus could get you to agree to anything. He only half realizes it. “I mean it, that gets damaged or lost no amount of puppy eyes can get me to talk to you for some time.” He smiles a bit. “Scout’s honor. And I’ll make it up to you, I’m sorry I lost your last one.” “Sure you are.” You cross your arms. He leans over and kisses your forehead. “Honestly, I will. We can watch that show you like that I’m starting to get tired of because we’ve watched it too many times.” “You can’t watch Gossip Girl too many times.” You protest, but still smile. “Hey, y/n/n, can you do my eyeliner. You’re better at it.” “Just like everything else.” You agree, moving to sit on the bathroom sink so that drawing the eyeliner on Klaus’ eyes would be easier. “Wait a minute...” You move away. “Is that my shirt? I’ve been looking for it forever.” “Y/n, you are literally wearing my sweater right now, you slept in my shirt last night, and you own more of my jackets than I do.” You hop off the counter. “I’m not mad you’re wearing it, I might just be a little annoyed that you look better in it than me.” “I can’t help it.” Klaus grins. “And you’re guilty of doing the same thing. You’re ruining that sweater for me.” You laugh a little. “I keep you humble, what can I say?” “I don’t even want to think about where I’d be without you.” You want to giggle a bit, but Klaus looks serious for a moment, very somber. “You don’t have to.” “Good.” Klaus turns his head. “Ben agrees that we’re better together.” “For the record, I’m using you to talk to Ben because he’s my favorite and if we believed in it, we’d be married by now.” You point out, smiling towards where you think Ben could be. “Yeah, right,” Klaus scoffs. “You’re almost husband is a little more to the left.” “I always knew I was the favorite.” Ben teases his brother. Klaus hisses at him, making you laugh like crazy. - “Oh my god.” Klaus gasps. “You betrayed me.” “You don’t even like the show.” “When you watch a show with someone, you don’t watch it without them.” Klaus flops onto the couch as if he’s been wounded. “Blair and Chuck broke up again and I don’t know why.” You scoot over to him. “Do you want me to play the other episode?” He shakes his head. “Please. There’s no point, you’ve injured me. My best friend.” You roll your eyes. “What’s it going to take for you to get over it and stop acting like a baby.” “Well, that heart felt apology isn’t doing anything for me.” “Fine.” You lean towards him. “I’m sorry that I didn’t think about your feelings when I watched a show you don’t even like watching without you.” “It’s not about the show...” He mumbles. “I just like doing things with you.” Your heart swells. “Aww, Klaus, that’s sweet, but we’re literally always together. The only time we’re not together is when we’re showering and even that’s fading away.” Klaus props his head up on a pillow. “I sat on the floor of the bathroom while you showered a couple of times, but—“ You cut him off with a look that says ‘point proven.’ “Plus, you were asleep and I was bored. I wasn’t going to wake you up. You don’t get enough sleep.” “Whatever, mom,” Klaus mumbles. “Hey!” You smack him with a pillow. “Someone has to think about your care because you don’t!” “Well, that might be the nicest thing that anyone’s yelled at me while hitting me.” “It’s the only way to get through to you.” Klaus sits up and places his head on your shoulder. “Thanks for putting up with me.” “You put up with me just as much.” You squeeze his hand. - You wake up to the sound of someone walking around your bedroom. Normally, this would cause you to freak, but you’ve gotten used to it. “Klaus?” You whisper in the darkness. He sits on your bed. “They’re so loud, y/n. They’re screaming at me, and if I happen to fall asleep I dream about the screaming.” You scoot over to give him room. “Come on, lay down.” Klaus doesn’t need anymore insentive. He lays his head on your chest and you trace patterns on his back. “Do you want to talk about it or...?” “Can you just talk about anything else?” “Sure.” You continue to trace patterns up and down his spine. “Let’s see, you’re basically always with me, so you know everything. I went on a date, which you knew about, and he didn’t seem that into it and he was only okay. I guess it’s not going to happen.” “What?” “Guys just don’t really like me. It’s not a ‘pity me’ thing, it’s a fact.” You admit casually. “I’m a lot to handle. It’s okay, I have friends, a job, you.” “You’re insane.” Klaus adjusts himself. “What?” Klaus sits up. “There is no way you don’t know. I’m so obvious.” “Know what?” You ask slowly. Klaus gives you a slight glare. “I love you.” “I love you, too,” you echo. “We’ve done this before.” Klaus rolls his eyes. “No, I love you in like, I want to be the only person you date way. Or, I think it’s love, but maybe I just like you a lot.” You freeze. Klaus, your gorgeous best friend that you never thought you had a chance with. You thought it was okay for things to be the way that they are; you still got to be close to him. “I shouldn’t have said anything.” You reach out to stop Klaus from leaving. “Don’t go, idiot, I love you like that too.” “Then why didn’t you react?” “Because I didn’t see it coming.” You smile at him. “I just never thought tha—“ Klaus cuts you off with a kiss, which makes you gasp but you quickly catch up again. - BONUS SCENE Downstairs, the rest of the Umbrella Academy Alumns sit around eating breakfast. “Good morning guys.” You smile, walking downstairs. “Finally, y/n, someone that knows how to make a good cup of coffee.” Five greets as you appear in the kitchen. “I hate to admit it, but you might be better at it than me.” “No need to kiss up,” you yawn, “I’ll make you some.” Klaus trails behind you, down the stairs. “Good morning.” Klaus is grinning. “Morning.” You have the same expression. You both step a little closer, momentarily forgetting that you two have an audience. Your lips barely brush, and everyone freezes. “Finally.” Five sighs. Vanya sets down her fork. “Took forever.” Allison yawns. “I was wondering how long that would take.” Diego groans. “You couldn’t have waited one more week. Now I owe Five twenty dollars.” “Delores and I knew he wouldn’t last one more week.” Five replies simply. Luther clears his throat. “Just don’t break up, because we’ll probably all side with y/n.” Both you and Klaus roll your eyes. They bet on you. Wow. You lean in for another kiss but Klaus stops you last second. “Ben’s happy for us, but he’s a little insecure, he feels like he’s being replaced as the favorite.” You turn your head a bit. “Ben, don’t worry, you know we’re the real deal and you’ll always be my favorite.” Klaus sighs once but can’t bring himself to be annoyed. It’s just so cute how well you get along with Ben even though you two haven’t really met. “Y/n...” “Let me guess,” you turn back to Klaus, your noses almost brush because of how close you are. “He’s a little more to the left?” Klaus finally closes the little space between you, and it feels like you’re the only two in the world, which makes it easy to forget that you both are standing in a crowded kitchen. When you two finally pull apart (Diego had to clear his throat awkwardly) Klaus is smiling. “Right.” “Hmm?” “Ben was a little more to the right, but you’re getting better.” You turn yourself again. “Here that, Ben? We’re almost in sync?” “You got it this time!” Klaus smiles proudly before kissing your forehead. “We did it!” Klaus winks at the brother that only he can see that ran to where you were looking so that you could have a win. This really was going to be a good new chapter.

A/n finally picked a title lol Pairing: Stucky x reader (kinda) Part: 2/? You looked at Steve, feeling a little bad. “Steve, what is it that you’re not used to?” You question. “Bucky has girls lining up around the block to get a wink from them, and he tries...he really does. He asks girls to bring a friend for me about nine out of ten times, and they never really work out.” Steve tells me. Something about his voice makes your heart hurt a little. “Well, all those girls were dumb.” Steve gives you a look you can’t really decipher. “They either leave or like Bucky better; he’s just got this way to charm everyone and he doesn’t necessarily do it on purpose.” “I have a feeling that you’ve got more charm than you give yourself credit for.” You take a slight step towards him. “Please.” He scoffs again. “I’m serious, at least one thing you’ve said tonight was a line. It has to be.” You laugh once. Steve stops walking. “I don’t really have any lines.” “Right, because you’re just a natural at knowing what to say and when.” You look down at your hand as Steve takes it in his. “Where have you been this whole time?” Steve looks down at both of your hands. “Oh, you know, around.” You finally look up at Steve. “Steve...” “Yes?” You and him are getting closer. Close enough that anyone watching would think you were about to kiss. “There’s no way that whole ‘where have you been my whole life’ thing wasn’t a line.” “Okay.” Steve watches you as he moves toward you; you haven’t moved away and he takes that as a good sign. “I’ll give you that one.” “Stevie!” Bucky calls right before you and Steve can kiss. Part of Steve thinks he’s imagining the disappointed look you throw Bucky and Madge. “I’ve been looking all over for you.” Madge is holding onto Bucky’s arm tightly. Steve stiffens a bit and you notice it instantly. You’re both still holding hands. You squeeze Steve’s hand and whisper, “Say the word and I’ll find an excuse for us to ditch them.” Steve squeezes your hand slightly in approval. “Where would we go?” “Anywhere where you can show me a few more of your lines.” You whisper back. By the time you finish the sentence, Madge and Bucky have walked up to the two of you. “We’ve been looking all over for you, let’s go to the dance hall.” Bucky states. Bucky and Steve walk side by side; you and Madge walk a few feet ahead of them. “Did I interrupt something?” “It’s fine, Buck.” Steve blows it off. “I’ve got a feeling that I’m going to have another chance.” “So...good date?” Steve grins to himself. “She’s witty, but not mean about it. She’s amazing, and...” “Glad one of us is having a nice evening. Y/n’s friend is the opposite of what she seemed. I’ve never been this wrong about a dame in my life.” Later, all four of you are sitting around a table together; Madge is still annoyed and you have no idea what you did. You ignore her easily, paying attention to Steve. “So what did you two do?” Bucky asks politely. You turn to him while continuing to hold Steve’s hand. “Walked around, had some cotton candy.” You look back to Steve. “And I had a really good time.” “Me too.” Steve replies. “Steve’s amazing, I’m really glad that you realized that.” “That’s it.” Madge stands up angrily. “I’ve had it.” “What?” Bucky asks confused. “You’ve been eyeing y/n all night.” Madge crosses her arms. “Honestly, y/n, you couldn’t even let me have one guy.” “What are you talking about, this whole thing was your idea.” You defend yourself. “I’ve been minding my own business with my date this whole time.” “Right,” Madge scoffs. “Because you don’t even try, everyone just likes you.” “I’m just sitting here.” You try to defend yourself. “Wait...not everyone. You’re just lucky neither of these two have met your sister! Everyone likes your sister better. For two people that look so much alike, somehow your sister is a lot prettier.” “Has it ever occurred to you that the reason no one likes you the way you want them to is that you’re an awful person.” You spit back. Madge scoffs. “Please. Nothing you say means anything, your entire family’s derranged. After all, didn’t your father leave your mother?” You take a deep breath to remind yourself that murder is illegal. “You’re cracked and...” You struggle to think of an insult. “Your head is too big for the rest of your body and there’s nothing you’ll ever be able to do to fix it.” “I’m leaving.” She rolls her eyes. “That was...something.” Bucky mutters as soon as Madge leaves. “Is she always like that?” You laugh once. “Yes, and I don’t know how she’s not always exhausted.” Bucky laughs easily, and Steve sees the admiration in his friend’s eyes. He sees what’s happening. Maybe you’re not meant to be his, maybe you’re meant for Bucky. This makes a lot more sense, and he’d step back for both of you. “I’m going to get a drink.” “I’ll go with you.” You start to follow him. “It’s fine.” Steve stops you. “I’ll be back in a minute.” Then it was just you and Bucky. “He really likes you. But don’t tell him I told you.” “I really like him.” You respond honestly. “But don’t tell him I told you.” “Deal.” Bucky agrees. “You know you’re a saint for putting up with Madge.” “She’s my neighbor, I’m going to come home and she’s going to have broken all my windows or something, or she’ll murder me in my sleep.” “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.” “Her nails could take your eye out.” “I’ll take my chances.” Bucky subtly moves a little closer to you, but you still notice. You should move away, but you can’t. “You know...” you adjust the way you’re sitting so that you can lean a bit away from Bucky. You’re begging yourself not to be stupid enough to fall for Bucky’s tricks or to be dumb enough to fall for both him and Steve. “This is a really good song.” “Want to dance?” Ah...why hadn’t you seen that coming? I don’t think we should.” “Why not? My date stormed out of here, Steve’s getting a drink. It’s just for entertainment, fully innocent , I promise.” Or at least that’s what Bucky tells himself, because trying to steal the one girl that Steve shows interest in would be insane; he’s not that person. “I can’t dance.” You’re half trying to get out of it and half honest. “If I can do it, so can you.” He’s just being nice. After all, he doesn’t like you like that. He’s not allowed to like you like that. Bucky is human, though, and he can admit that you’re pretty. He can admit that you have deep e/c eyes and a smile that takes away his breath. “Trust me?” Giving in, you take his hand. You dance in the corner, and you two definitely have a nice rhythm going together. The entire time, Bucky is just cursing his bad luck. Why didn’t he meet you first? “Song’s over.” Bucky mumbles when you don’t pull away from him. “Is that your way of telling me that you’re bored with me?” “Never, I just meant that...” “I was joking.” The way Bucky looks at you makes me shiver. You try to calm yourself down.

A/n my first fic on here yay!! Pairing: pre serum! Stucky x reader (eventually) Part: 1/? You looked at yourself in the mirror one more time. Your wearing your light blue dress that hugs your frame in all the right ways. One of the last nice dresses you own, and you’re wasting it on some random guy. Why did you agree to go on a double date with Madge? Oh right, Madge had begged, bribed, and when all else failed—threatened. Was Madge your best friend? No, she was a little too brash, but she lived in your apartment building and something about how desperate she was to go out with Bucky Barnes, and how she just had to bring a friend for Bucky’s friend. At first, Madge invited her cousin, Eliza. Eliza then got the flu. Madge then asked Lydia (another one of your neighbors), but Lydia has found herself a boyfriend. Then, Madge went for you, and when you tried to let her down gently, she didn’t take it. So that’s how you ended up on a Friday night in your blue dress, half of your hair pinned up, and a dab of red lipstick. A sharp knock at your door distracts you; you take one last casual glance at yourself before going to open the door to see Madge. A short taxi ride later and you’re at Coney Island; the weather is nice, and you’re greatful for that, at the very least. “Hi, Bucky.” Madge breathes out in a voice that reeks of desperation. It’s not like you had never heard about Bucky. You’d have to have been living under a rock to avoid stories about Bucky, and the fact that he’s the best date ever, and if you were to get his attention you should enjoy it while it lasts. You had never seen Bucky, though. Sure, you had both been at the same dance hall at the same time, or you’d see him walking down the street, but you had never talked to him. See, you had this little rule where you’d avoid people like Bucky. You wouldn’t be rude and ignore him, but there was no way in hell you’d allow yourself to become one of the plenty desperately seeking attention and considering yourself lucky if you got a two second glance and a wink. Your mother had been like that with your father, and look how it all ended up. “Hello, Madge, you look lovely this evening...so does your friend...” He trials off, waiting for a name. You can see the charm that he’s trying to work on you. That easy smile on his attractive features, but if he thinks that Madge is his Friday night and you’re his Saturday night, he’s got another thing coming. “Y/n.” You fill in politely, but not exactly nicely. “Hey, Buck.” A blonde stranger walks up to join the group. “Sorry, I went to the restroom I thought you two wouldn’t be here until a little later.” “It’s fine, we left a little early.” You reply, smiling. “I’m y/n.” “Steve.” He responds. You watch Madge throw you a dirty look from the corner of your eye. You have no idea what that’s about, but Madge is easily tempered; maybe you said the wrong thing to Bucky, maybe your dress clashed with hers... Whatever, one of Madge’s more redeeming qualities is the fact that even though she gets mad fast over silly things, she gets over it even faster. She’d be giggling with you within the hour. “Maybe we should split up.” Madge suggests through gritted teeth. “I mean, I doubt that y/n wants to do the same things I do, and well, we’re such close friends that when we’re near each other we just start talking and talking and...talking.” “No.” Bucky says a little too sharply. “I mean, isn’t the whole point of a double date to do things together.” Madge throws you a look that screams ‘back me up, or I swear...’ “How about a compromise...” You suggest. “We could split up for now and then meet up together later.” “For going to the dance hall.” Madge jumps in to back you up. After that, the two groups split up. Steve seems a little off, and you have one good guess on why. “So...you were dragged along with your friend, too? What is it about people that like each other? They just have to bring someone else with them to save face...” Steve allows himself a little smile, but he knows this routine well. There are some girls that are meaner, more flighty that claim a headache or stomach bug as soon as Bucky disappears with their friend. There are a few nicer ones that pull through a few awkward minutes of conversation. Steve doesn’t know which is worse. You’re just so pretty that Steve is struggling to not have any hopes; he’s struggling to remain unattached. Of course you’re one of the nicer ones, he could see it in your kind eyes. It might be better if Steve just lets you go. “You don’t have to stay, you know.” He expects relief to be reflected on your face, but you stand there, kind of confused. “You were someone like Bucky, not me. I’m not going to force you to stay, you could go home or find someone else. Don’t worry, I’ll tell Buck and your friend that we had a good time and then you got a stomach ache.” “First off, I wasn’t expecting anything, because Madge all but dragged me here. Second, don’t do this, you seem really nice and we can have fun without those other two. We could even ditch them.” You offer. Steve hesitates, this has never happened before. “Come on, you’re not going to make me go spend my Friday night sitting in my nice dress, rereading Jane Austen.” Steve smiles a bit. “No...that’d be...” “Exactly, now what do you want to do?” Who knew how much fun two people could have in Coney Island? You had definitely been having the best time ever. This ‘date-but-not-a-date-but-maybe-a-date’ has been the first time you actually enjoyed spending time with a guy in awhile. “No, I can pay.” You insist, trying to buy your own cotton candy. Steve wouldn’t hear of it. “No way, you’re the one that was dragged here.” Eventually, you give up. “For the record, maybe this one time it’s a good thing that Madge dragged me somewhere.” Steve can physically feel his heart swell. There’s no way he’s fallen in love after about two hours, right? “Only a maybe?” “Mmm...” you pretend to think about it before pulling off a chunk of cotton candy. “The night’s still young, you’ve got plenty of time to mess this up.” Steve laughs a bit. The two of you are having an insane amount of fun. After awhile, you decide to ask: “So, why don’t you have a girlfriend?” Steve scoffs. “You’re kidding, right?” “Um...no, you’re funny, kind, and this has been an amazing date.” Something in your stomach makes you worry, maybe you were too forward. “But don’t get too comfortable, because there’s still time...” Steve starts to walk a little faster. “You don’t have to patronize me.” You try to match his strides. “I’m not.” “A girl like you doesn’t look at me in that way; you’re supposed to be all over Bucky or someone like him.” “A girl like me?” You repeat, more angry than anything else. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Steve pauses. “I didn’t mean it as an insult.” “Every time I think I find a nice guy he turns out to be a jerk.” You cross your arms. Steve is shocked. Here you are, an insanely pretty girl whose nice, gets his sense of humor, and who actually likes him. “Y/n, wait.” Steve follows you. “I’m sorry, okay, I just, I’m not used to this...”
