Uh the very heinous crime of being poor and sick, duh? How dare they be so helpless and in need when so many of these billionaires are working 24/7 and feeding themselves with their own money.
I see so many people insisting that the death penalty is a good idea.
But in response to Brian Thompson being killed, many of those same people are calling the killer a terrorist.
Brian Thompson caused so much suffering to so many people for his own selfish gain. If he didn't deserve to die, what possible crime could someone commit that they'd deserve to die for?

"Solarpunk will never happen!"
As if it's not already coming, already here and starting to bloom before our eyes.
Neighborhood cooking clubs and libraries lending out more then just books, it's the art club that the community garden started, it's the funky gardens my neighbors have.
It's the DIY projects ppl wear with pride and ones that hide in the back of their dresser drawer. It's in the magazines and podcasts and in passing hope forward.
Like gruella gardening alone is enough for proof of concept for me, but the rise in community events and potlucks and fighting for rent caps and UBI and decentalizing energy and gardening is happening now.
And yea I gotta fight nazis and dickwards daily for it, and I gotta spend the time to educate and build up as I take down, but they can't say this future isn't coming. I'm here with you right now in it.

My music taste can be described as I hear a new song(s) that I like in a movie/TV show/video game and then I listen to it endlessly for months until I encounter a new song(s) that I like in another piece of media and repeat over and over. And that's the only way I ever discover new music :)

You get exactly how I feel! People are fawning over caitvi getting a happy ending and I'm like, isn't this weird? Isnt it extremely weird how Caitlyn went back to her so fast and didn't apologize for anything she did? I was all onboard for caitvi in season 1 but idk how I feel about it now...
I genuinely don't understand why the girlies celebrate Vi's "I'm the dirt under your fingernails. You can't clean me out" as hard as they do.
I find it such a heartbreaking and gut-wrenching line. I don't hear a wholesome commitment to an unbreakable bond or an expression of romantic loyalty. I hear resignation and self-loathing; I hear how hard Vi has internalized that she is unworthy and how little she has to make herself be with Caitlyn.
"Oil and Water" conceded incompatibility but suggested eye height. If you add some acid, salt, and mustard or egg yolk to the mix, (salad) oil and water can form a delicious emulsion. So, the combination between Vi and Caitlyn may blend by adding additional ingredients like effort and external elements like understanding, addressing, and navigating the significant vulnerabilities Vi faces under the power imbalance favoring Caitlyn due to her structural and systematic privileges and position in the social hierarchy.
These differing metaphors highlight the shift in how Vi views her role in Caitlyn’s life—not as an oil that could enhance and enrich water when blended with the right ingredients and under the right conditions but reduced to something undeserving and unwelcome.
Oil is a substance with value and function (either as food or fuel); dirt is an undesirable nuisance. This shift in symbolism is devastating. Vi went from expressing grief about incompatibility while still hinting at mutual potential (however tenuous) to a metaphor that suggests a self-perception rooted in worthlessness.
However, "I'm the dirt under your nails. You can't clean me out." states not only what Vi is to Caitlyn - dirt - it also suggests that Vi is the one holding on, making sacrifices, and constantly battling for Caitlyn's acceptance.
"You can't clean me out" alludes to an understanding that Caitlyn will try to reject Vi over and over again while Vi will hold on nonetheless. Oil has found a place in Water's life - as an indelible stain Water carries and tolerates but will occasionally try to clean out (not merely 'wash off,' 'clean out' implies thoroughness and effort on Caitlyn's part!). Vi will have to remain vigilant and fight for her place in Caitlyn's life - not in her heart or by her side as an equal and cherished partner, but as a persistent burden or flaw, Caitlyn will try to eliminate.
Self-deprivation is such a red flag concerning the value Vi assigns to herself rooted in what she thinks Caitlyn sees in her… Caitlyn pushed Vi into the dirt before when she was displeased with Vi.
Caitlyn has repeatedly hurt Vi physically. Caitlyn is dishing out violence; Vi endures it. The first hit with the rifle in Act 1 was an attack, something Caitlyn forced on Vi. In Act 2, Vi invites Caitlyn to punch in the face. She isn't just passively enduring Caitlyn hurting her; she moved to encouraging and preparing for it. I don't know if any of you have ever been with someone who raised their hand against you once in a moment of emotional agitation, but the bitter reality is if they did it once (and Caitlyn never actually apologized for her physical assaults), they'll do it again because the first escalation means that this isn't a limit or boundary they had in the first place. But, hey, Vi is tough and strong, right, and Caitlyn is so delicate. Vi can take it. I find the dynamic frankly hauntingly and bleakly realistic and authentic (speaking as a Black woman who dated white women, the power dynamics in lesbian relationships based on intersections like race can be just as harmful as power dynamics based on gender in straight relationships).
Vi’s arc can be read as being about the erosion of her hope for equality and respect. Her journey from dreaming of collective respect for Zaun and herself to accepting a subordinate role in Caitlyn’s life speaks volumes about how oppression, trauma, and the desire to be accepted and loved by someone who sees you as less ("I keep telling myself you're different. But you're not," to quote Caitlyn) shape self-perception. I'm just baffled by how little compassion Vi receives and how eager you all are to romanticize the abuse and humiliations she endured by Caitlyn's hand behavior throughout season 2. (I warn you to be careful to assert rationalizations and justifications for Caitlyn's harmful actions in my notes because that borders on enabling abusers! I don't take abuse in relationships lightly and always stand in full solidarity with victims - take this as terms and conditions, aka my boundaries, for you to engage with this analysis! Sincerly, a survivor) Like…
Remember what her last line in season 1, episode 1 was?
"And one day, this city's gonna respect us." And now she is grateful to be the dirt under Caitlyn's nails.

SPOILERS ❗❗❗ my extremely critical and overly nitpicky rant on the relationships in Arcane season 2
One thing that always ticked me off about arcane is how. Theres so many lesbian characters (or atleast bi) in the show yet every single male character(even npcs) was nothing but straight. Like you're telling me there's an onscreen lesbian sex scene but not even an implied mlm romance? Also how Caitlyn arc was so lackluster because she just immediately got back to vi after the whole hitting her and becoming general thing. And then Vi siding with Caitlyn on almost every instance of her oppressing the undercity despite Vi being on the other end for almost her entire life felt so out of character for her. It almost felt like they were forcing them together (I know this sounds homophobic but trust me, I'm not) just to get the relationship a good ending. Like yea they had chemistry, they liked each other, and Vi was so heartbroken after all that that its so weird she just got back with her the next time she saw her. And then victor and jayce being so close to a happy couple and the writers immediately confirm that they're platonic and sibling coded? Its really weird.
(unless ofcourse I'm overanalyzing everything and they just cut important scenes from that episode too)

normally it's frustrating when mystery games hand you answers on a silver plate but in ace attorney, the witnesses' tendencies to conveniently say far more than what they were asked for is so hilarious that it becomes its own reward. ace attorney witnesses will be asked what time they saw the murder and they'll say it was 10:40 and they know it was exactly that time because that's the exact minute they open the can of Fancy Feast to feed their elderly russian blue cat, father of 12 kittens and phoenix will be like umm actually i spoke to your cat and here's a written affidavit from him that there was a recall on Fancy Feast and also he's never been to russia nor known the touch of a woman. you're going to jail buddy
