No but real talk, it’s sorta on the back burner atm, chapter 28’s draft is slowly being chipped away at (writing two 10k+ chapters in a row did kind of a number on me 💀) as I currently work a job that’s putting me through hell mentally and physically

Safe to say there won’t be an update this month, but hopefully ill be able to have an ETA ready in February

Hey peeps—!

Wanted to let you know there will be no update for November unfortunately.

Not only am I leaving town for nearly two weeks, but as soon as I get back I’m starting a new job, and on top of holidays I’m going to be running around with my hands full physically and mentally

I am almost done drafting the next chapter so hopefully it will be ready by the time December rolls around and I can get TToNF’s upload schedule back on track

That being said, we’re in the home stretch here with just about 10 chapters left in Vol. 1!

Hey! Sorry for asking this but I'm inquisitive about Captain Penny Pike's personality, and I'll be honest with you, I really love that character! :3

Here’s a bit of a rundown on how I view her character!

Pike, a lot like Haggis, is stubborn and thinks highly of herself, but it comes more so from self respect as opposed to ego. She does find Haggis charming and would even consider him a viable significant other, but she’s waiting/hoping for him to mature more in certain aspects before even humoring the idea (an obvious starter would be for him to stop behaving so desperately for her affection lol)

In other words, Pike recognizes they’re both on two completely different pages mentally in life, and she can’t waste time trying to support so much that he’s still falling short in as a result of his own actions, while trying to run her ship and crew and keep her own shortcomings in check (esp when she’d receive none of that kind of support from him in turn)

Very opposite to her late Captain Coral, who was considered the most intelligent and strategic of the pirate captains during the golden age of piracy— Pike is far more rash and spontaneous; but she embraces this as she despises the idea of anyone trying to imitate Coral.

I wouldn’t really label her as having “trust issues”, but rather: she hates putting faith in other people, and doesn’t expect much from them, but is always open to be proven wrong about

Finally—! She tends to be more willing to own up to her faults (ex: acknowledging it was short sighted to trust Calico, confessing to Haggis she accidentally gave her crew food poisoning, praising Pama as opposed to being avoidant/dismissive in recognizing what’d she’d done)
