Trope:

Ashely is an "optomistic mask" type character (think Siffrin.) They constantly try to lighten the mood and act happy but inside they are barely holding it together. They will have an arc from an optomistic do-gooder to a deadpan barely holding it together guy who needs to harm others to get out his frustrations but will harm himself to keep others safe. At the end of the game they will start having meltdowns and eventually give in. Their friends will have to stop him.

Secrets:

Ashley's secret is that they died on the quest to save everyone from the evil king with the party. After, they were met by a strange ghost named Anima (the latin word for spirit), who offered to bring him back and help them. In return, his soul will be connected with the ghost who can take control of them. They can't tell their friends or the Anima will kill them all so he is forced to keep it all in which sets up his arc from optimism to self-harming pessemist.
