Flavours of Kolkota
From the musty smell of old books in the college street to romantic sunsets that lit up the glory of this place, Kolkota stand out as a royalty in the heart of each and everyone who reside there. The Howrah Bridge in her most beautiful glittery attire stand still from dusk till dawn over the Hooghly river offering a visual treat.
Kolkota is one of the most beautiful cities situated on the banks of river Hooghly.
There is a lot more one could explore in this place from art galleries, street food, museums etc. Moreover, it is a hub for intellectuals and artists ranging from Satyajit Ray-an Indian Director who won Bharat Ratna in 1992, Mother Teresa-Missionaries of charity and Rabindranath Tagore to name a few.
It has a rich cultural heritage depicting art arts, festival, music etc. Children are trained from a very young age in dance, music and other related activities. An incredible amalgamation of gothic architecture featuring ancient churches and buildings adds value to the cultural capital.
Navratri is one of the most important festivals ,where women flaunt in red and white dresses and the air is filled with fun and happiness. It is celebrated to honour goddess Durga of her victory over Mahishasura and who could forget their mouth-watering Bengali sweets especially rasagullas.
No wonder this place is also known as the CITY OF SURPRISES.
