This!! It’s a struggle some days to be patient with G but it is SO important!
My inner voice is incredibly mean and critical. What is yours like?

On Dressing for Success
One question I’m often asked by other nannies is “What does your family allow you to wear?”
Fortunately for me, G’s parents don’t mind me wearing my regular clothes while I’m watching him. Since I’m often picking him up from school right after I get out of class, I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt.
Other nannies I know wear uniforms- some wear pinafores or even scrubs. It’s definitely becoming more common, and many of the other nannies at G’s preschool do wear uniforms.
My suggestion for new nannies is to discuss uniforms with your employer. They might want you to wear one, or they might be fine with you wearing your own clothes. You might even find that you like wearing a uniform since it means you don’t have to pick out a new outfit every day!
