Video Clip: Discussing the Spinnaker Fluess Chronograph
Video Clip: Discussing the Spinnaker Fluess Chronograph
Positives: + beveled lugs + bezel looks great + some have said the dial is cluttered and of course there’s a lot going on, it’s a diver chrono with pano date and it’s still easier to read than many straight Chronos + pano date! + overall weight + bracelet build + crown works really well + lug ends line up perfectly with the bracelet edge + thickness appropriate to the overall size +…

Video Clip: Damasko DA44bk
Video Clip: Damasko DA44bk
This beast is a spec monster and massive deal if you’re looking for pure function. Just look at the condition, this is a 4 year old well worn tool watch and barely a scratch on it! So in researching this model I found there were pretty much no videos on it so I had to make one. This said, there’s a fair bit written on the DA44 and it’s well written IMO so I won’t repeat what they’ve said here…

Video Clip: Sinn 104 St Sa A B E
Video Clip: Sinn 104 St Sa A B E
Good footage of the Sinn 104, no narrative though. Here’s an excerpt from my old unboxing video with not so good footage: My impressions of the New Sinn 104 “ABE”… The case looks great, I can’t imagine how it’ll look after hard use, but the high sheen finish along with the polished bezel ring edge look awesome. The case proportions are good with the lugs not being too long for the body…

Video Look: Meccaniche Veneziane Redentore Burano
Video Look: Meccaniche Veneziane Redentore Burano
A LOOK AT… the 2019 Meccaniche Veneziane Rendentore Burano Dimensions: 40mm Diameter, 47.7mm lug-to-lug, 10.7mm thick ⁃ The Burano was apart of the now discontinued Swiss 3.0 versions and was a limited run of 1000 units. The key difference was the red second and blue hour and minute hands. I forgot to mention it in the video, but this early example of Meccaniche Veneziane’s limited production…

Video Look: Seiko Alarm Quartz
Video Look: Seiko Alarm Quartz
There are enough blogs, sales ads, forum threads and YouTube videos that if interested one can piece together most of the history of the Alarm Quartz and then reasonably deduce the remainder. Now I was going to write out a bunch more but in writing this I found a VERY good descriptive breakdown of this model of Alarm Quartz and rather than re inventing this here it is and the link as well, thanks…

Video Look: Tudor Black Bay P01
Video Look: Tudor Black Bay P01
This is my second look at the Tudor Black Bay P01, my first can be found at the link below. Meet Tudors arguably most controversial release, the Black Bay P01. I ended up moving it from bund to bracelet which in my opinion should at least be an OEM option as it really compliments the overall look. In my time wearing it as a daily I found it to be extremely functional and easy to use. The…

Video Look: Omega Dynamic III Chronograph
Video Look: Omega Dynamic III Chronograph
This charming Omega features a screw down crown and a Dubois-Depraz 2030 chrono module and breguet style Arabic numerals. This watch has had a few owners over the last couple of years and I know the previous owner as well as the 3rd last owner. It was disclosed to me that it had been checked by the local go to watch smith here in Montreal and was given a clean bill of health; with this said…

Update – Taking a Tactical Pause… For those few that follow these reviews, thank you. Due to the time constraints created by a new born and a terrible three year old I will be ceasing production of written commentary for the time being.

Update: The Value of New Straps and Old Dials
The Value of New Straps and Old Dials: Solving the long-term wear-ability problem of the Spinnaker Hull California line-up; updated thoughts on the Spinnaker brand; and, what's coming up in October 2019 at TheWatchConsumer.com
I recently caved to pressure from my wrist and conducted a strap change on both of my Spinnaker Hull California’s.  My initial impressions of the stock straps after the first couple of weeks was that although they were firm, I was making due and figured that they would eventually break-in; to date however, this has not happened, perhaps a testament to their potential lasting durability but…

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Co‑Axial Master Chronometer GMT "ETNZ" Deep Black – Quick Check Review
You've read and seen what every bought and paid for publication has to say but what is the Deep Black version of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean really like to live with in real life?
Black, Red, White & Blue Glory
Like any “big name” brand, Omega gets lots of love, and on occasion hate, across all media platforms and just about every publication and presenter has made a piece, fluff or otherwise, about Rolex to drum up viewership.  My intention here is not to dwell on the Omega brand or the overall Seamaster Planet Ocean (SMPO) line, but instead my intention will be to…
