Greetings earthlings: weekly update from the forest fairy
You’ll never have enough hours in the day—believe me, I’ve tried. As much as I’d love to think I can fit everything I want to do into 24 hours, it never quite works out. I’ve experimented with routines and schedules, but there’s something so soothing about letting the day unfold naturally. Of course, that’s not the case on workdays when I’m in the office and following a strict schedule. But on…

Bayview Bikes pedals into the sunset
Wednesday March 12th, 2025
After nine years in the Bayview Cash Store community, Bayview Bikes has decided to close its doors at the end of this month. Citing the common frustration of slowed business, owner Michael Copenhaven has decided to shift his efforts elsewhere. The shop is scheduled to close on Friday, March 28, unless a serious buyer steps forward to take over the business.

Last night's Canadian Steam at WICA was a rollercoaster of laughs, laughs, and more laughs — sprinkled with Canadian charm, eh? 🇨🇦🎤(no maple syrup was harmed in the making of this show...or was it?) 😉

W.I. Organic Farm School: "Do Something" Friday
With great delight, a little tease of springtime is upon us. The sun is shining and it’s nearly in the 60s. What better time to get our hands dirty than at the farm school’s “Do Something”…

RIP Michelle Trachtenberg
A childhood icon of mine, dead at 39. Cause of death unknown at this time...? Gone too soon. She was an inspiration of mine to start journaling, to write what I saw to chronicle the people around me, apropos of her iconic
Harriet the Spy
character. She was the little investigator in the big city, imaginative and daring. I started journaling at 12 years old, probably around the age she landed this role. My best friend and I began what we now know as "junk journaling" in the classic black and white composition notebooks. Together during sleepovers we would always have writing sessions. Filling it with little bits collected from our hometown, characters and real folks alike.
