Back to the #hustleandgrind here in the studio today after a few days of relaxation. It’s a quiet day here in the studio. We are relishing in a quiet house, cedar smoke wafting through my studio and a desk full of pieces to complete. 💫 Trying to do a little #shopupdate today as well as preview the pieces I will have available at The Rusty Grape’s Sip and Shop on Friday. 💫 I’ve been alternating between #painting and #jewelry show prep lately. Sometimes it’s nice to have multiple creations in the work so I can give my brain and hands breaks-I don’t think I’m ever not having multiple creations 😉 💫 I’m getting back to the slow, intuitive creating that makes me the happiest. It’s a gloriously quiet afternoon in my house and I’m listening to the wind whipping around outside while taking in all the smells of my sage, cedar and lavender burning in the background. I’m eager to settle into the stillness of the Solstice. Shedding, rebirth, renewal. Can you believe we are already just about half way through December??? Wowza! This month is going really fast! I’m craving some nesting and slow living in big ways. As much as I love the introspection and shadow work that comes along with the Fall and Winter months- I absolutely loathe being cold through these seasons. Sooo I’ve got all the shades pulled so the beautiful, bright sun outside will flood my home with its warmth inside🌞 . . I’m spending this #newmoon creating and prepping for my last 2 shows of the season while thinking about what goals I want to accomplish in this upcoming year. I’m ever so grateful to all of you who support me in this journey and show it through kind words, encouragement, making it out to shows, sharing my work and especially when you decide to spend your hard earned dollars with my small business. Words truly can’t articulate what this means to me. . . This time of year it hits me hard that I’m not working the retail grind. That I am in my home creating something from my #soul, stewarded by my hands to reach whoever it was meant for or called to. So I sit with that #joy and #gratitude while I #create and know that it does not come easily and definitely has/had/ will have challenges along the way but continues to push me, inspire me and reveal through the process the truths and lessons I need to see, act on and most importantly learn. . . I absolutely love using #found, #foraged and unique things in my #jewelry and this pair of natural stone earrings keeps the spirit of that. . . Another of the #treasures found in one of the local creeks my hubs and I like to spend time at. . . These #earrings are made from 2 pieces that used to be one stone. Upon finding this unique rock and getting home to sort my finds it broke straight in half! I knew then (or so I thought) that these would be unique stone #cabochons for necklaces. It’s gloomy here today but the necklace is giving me all the warm feels. I thought I was hanging on to this rough Jasper I found to do some lapidary work with but it had other plans. . . I call this necklace “The Creek Keeper”🌲 the Jasper was found in a local creek the hubs and I sometimes #rockhound in. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and have been hanging on to it ever since. . . The last few weeks as I have been completing pieces for shows I heard it start to whisper.
