Though Ludroth aren’t native to mahana, their timely oceanic migrations sometimes land select individuals on Mahana’s shores. During seasons of drought, Ludroth often migrate across many ocean biomes to find large uninhabited islands to form giant colonies on, similar to some species of seals. Kowaya was discovered by one of Mahana’s riders as an egg, and raised alongside humans. Often affectionately referred to as “Aya”, this monstie is known for his generally calm disposition and affinity with lying still in the sun for hours at a time. As he sunbathes, he tends to entertain the children of Mahana village, who find him utterly fascinating.

Also something that never got posted here - the bird that all those fancy feathers on the default rider armor come from. They’re also used on monstie armor occasionally, as seen with this guy. (this art is much older and deserves some more up to date lore..)
