Mother Earth caresses my cheek
and runs her thumb along my jaw
she kisses me gently
and holds my hand-
Soft grass cradles my legs
and arms
and face-
Blooms fall gently on my belly as the crow calls to his friends and
the cardinals sing.
Warm winds rock me to sleep as the world,
she sings me a lullaby
and for the first time in my life-
I’m shown what it feels like to feel truly loved.

Do you sometimes have this urge to go on an epic adventure that will completely change you as a person? Do you dream about pirate ships, highest mountains and deepest woods full of secrets, brave people seemingly not from this world? I want to discover the world so much that it almost hurts. Not just the world, but the magic in it. God, sometimes I just want to see the magic. I hope there is some of it left.

Cottagecore aesthetic while living in the city
Some things you can do even if you're not technically living in a cottage :
Dress as if you're living in the countryside: dresses, long/midi skirts, white shirts, flower prints, straw hats, be colorful, light or dark whatever you love as long as you feel lovely in it!
Go to the farmer's market with a straw basket to buy fruits and vegetables every week (after the COVID-19 situation is over of course + in France, in every city, farmers come to sell their products, so I hope it's the case in other countries too!)
Use your bike everyday to go to work or to university!
Cook all your meals and use lots of vegetables! And bake a lot!
Organize picnics with friends in city parcs or around lakes! You can even go there alone, enjoy nature and read a nice book!
Read lots of books! Journal!
Go to flea markets and buy second hand everything! + Thrift clothes, books, supplies etc. You can find really cute kitchen supplies, tea pots or paintings in thrift shops or flea markets. (here in France, every Sunday morning during spring and summer, you'll find flea markets and old people love to sell their stuff)
Do some gardening! If you can rent a garden in your city, do it with friends and it can be a cool project (usually cost around 40€ per year)! Or find an association or uni club about gardening. They organize gardening projects and it's a fun way to meet new people also!
Learn new skills: sewing, embroidery, cooking, baking, gardening, etc. About medical plants, first-aid, self-defense, survivalism, DIY...
Go hiking! Look for hiking spots in your city and around; it can be small woods to mountains.
Be more environmental friendly: use less water, reduce meat consumption, buy localy and in season, tend to a zero-waste life with no plastics, educate yourself, look up minimalism or sustainable brands
Be more in touch with the change of seasons, lunar cycle, weathers (be thankful even when it's raining because plants need it!)
Practice being self-sufficient! Try to rely less on supermarkets, do/create things by yourself, learn how to store food
During your holidays, become a WWOOFER and volunteer on a organic farm OR travel to the countryside (for instance in France or Slovenia, there are many beautiful villages that are dreamy) while staying respectful of the locals
Connect with your femine energy/femininity. Take care of yourself, your skin, your hair, your nails, your mental health.
Practice yoga or go on walk. Take deep breaths.
Drink tea in teapots! (it sounds so random but it's not! Tea is the cure for almost everything)
Decorate your place with flowers (fresh ones for instance, but be careful not to pick endangered species!). Make your place cozy, find inspiration online! Don't try to be perfectionist! Be thankful for whatever place you have even if it's a small studio on the 10th floor. Make it your safe haven!
Raise early and listen to the birds singing every morning
Slow living!
xoxo

don’t text. if you’re looking for me, you can find me perched on a toadstool somewhere deep in the glen, speaking to the trees.

go out in the rain and feel it on your face. lie down in the grass and let the leaves hug you. let the wind sing in your ear, bringing you sounds of burds and running water and frogs and crickets. be kind to the earth and she will be kind back.
