"Today I had a thought..." about loneliness
I've written poems about it, sung songs to help battle it. Surely we've ALLL been there. My question is Why? What good comes from loneliness? Why must we feel it? Is there even a purpose to it? Is it something unavoidable that tags along with us from the day we're born, or is it rather a pesky feeling/emotion that we pick up along the way as we trudge on through life.
I'm not sure it is avoidable and either way we shouldn't run from it. Sometimes the more we run is the more we're chased. So, this is usually the part where I give suggestions on how to combat it, if you even can and, OF COURSE you can! Loneliness and ("Boredom") are two things that I'll never quite understand but anyway, best shoo away the boredom thought because this is loneliness' hour.
Maybe we experience loner vibes because it's our bodies way of reminding us that we must spend time doing things and with people we care about and vice versa. I can't write about this topic and not acknowledge the fact that many people often undergo loneliness when in a room FULL of People. What might that mean? Worse yet if it's people that know you AND care about you, yet you couldn't feel more foreign. Now sure there are mental illness' that could explain these sensations, these experiences. But that cannot account for everyone. SO what then?
I believe that we're all a little bit lonely inside and that you can feel that way when even in the presence of your loved ones, whether you're married with children, whether you have a beloved pet and the most spectacular friends and job etc. This being one of many instances of this nature, it begs the question of if it ever really leaves us. The most we can do every day is find love in the little things, big things, people. There's so much to love and like about life. Sometimes it does involve getting off our butts and leaving the good ol' sofa/bed/kitchen floor, wherever is your designated hang spot.
Being with ourselves, in our own company isn't always the easiest thing to do and you know, that might be the thing we need most at times. Giving ourselves the things we need is with the sole intention of helping to better us in the long run.
Life is consistently propelling itself forward, whether we want to recognise that or not. The least we can do is recognise it and progress forward with it. Life's too short to be stuck inside your house feeling lonely when your neighbour has that cool television set that you enjoy more than your laptop screen. I'm not at all suggesting that you endanger yourselves in the process of combatting this loneliness thing, but, spending time with people who matter, surely makes a world of difference. And worse case scenario, if absolutely nothing can be done to repel the dreaded L word, then maybe you and everyone else can just feel lonely together.
Take Care Folks. Until next time.

"Today I Had a Thought….." about why we all can't just get along? ᥫ᭡
Hmmm. Is that Naive Optimistic? Blind Faith? No, never mind. There are reasons. Tonight though, I want to talk about anger. I have always thought about anger as a relative to sadness, in some way. Sometimes anger can morph into sadness. Sadness, in the form of tears for example, is when your body cannot express what it's feeling internally in any other way. It's like a cleansing. I remember I had a teacher in primary school who said that crying is good for the eyes. So they don't stay dry. But anyway, what causes us to feel angry? What determines how angry someone is likely to get and how quickly at that too?! When we feel anger I believe that it's our body's way of telling us that something is wrong. A situation is upsetting us and something just isn't right.
It has been advised that while during conflict/otherwise the heat-of-the-moment, we should step away from the conversation before we say things we may later come to regret. Taking that moment to collect yourself could be the difference to preventing an even bigger conflict down the road and can help people repair perhaps sooner and easier. Some people experience anger so intensely that they shake, their veins bulge out. Talk about unpleasant! Healthier alternatives to further prevent aggravation, should be made available. Certain mental illnesses can worsen the effects of anger, making it extreme for the individual experiencing it.

"Today I Had a Thought....." about how this generation suffers from a lack of sleep ⋆⭒˚。⋆☾
I know more than anybody how important sleep is, the individual aspects of it and the damaging effects that not getting enough sleep can have on us humans. This generation is sadly very anxiety ridden BUT, there's stuff to be done for that folks! So today I'll be sharing some tips and tricks that I've come across, even what has personally worked for me. First up on our list is having a sleep routine, where you decide at what hour you'll turn in to bed. Things like what time you want to have dinner, when you want to shower and then also, other things you'd like to get accomplished before you sleep, such as: read/do yoga/journal etc and then of course, you set a bedtime.
Once you're past this stage, we can start looking at what aids in feeling tired if you consider yourself an "insomniac" (a person who often finds it difficult to sleep, also please NEVER self-diagnose and talk to a professional/loved one if you're not sure). Exercising before bed can help, listening to soothing music/ASMR/White Noise, reading before bed and a popular one, limiting the screen time 30 minutes prior to sleeping. There is also something called a Blue Light filter which can protect your eyes from phone screen emissions, as well as, other devices. This can come in the form of a physical barrier or, an application that is downloaded on your device that changes the light emitted.

˚ ༘♡ ·˚꒰ᥕᥱᥣᥴ᥆꧑ᥱ t᥆ ꧑ᥡ bᥣ᥆g꒱ ₊˚ˑ༄ called "Today I Had a Thought....."
This blog is about everything in particular and nothing specific all at once, I kid I kid, but not really. I am creating a safe space for minds like mine. If you have ever felt that your mind was such an extremely chaotic place, then this can be your clearing in the fog. Whether you're overwhelmed by internal or external problems. Maybe you can tune your worries out for a while and read my words to find you're not alone. I hope that some posts can embrace you in a way. I know that when I read something impactful or otherwise meaningful to a person, things sometimes resonate with me. Every week I'll highlight one thing that my mind was focused on during that day. So, I too, have a place to put down my thoughts. At the very least I hope you find me entertaining. This will be an experience for us both!
Today's small thought emphasises the importance of small steps. These lead to eventual progress. Sometimes you can't see the "big picture" and you have no clue how much further there is to go. The important thing to remember on those days is that "A little, goes a long way." You know just as when a friend/loved one/even a complete stranger might be struggling to feel accomplished and is fixated on the negative? We don't reaffirm their fears and tell them it's justified. We remind them to not discount the positives. That's a cognitive distortion.
