MANGA SPOILERS
while I get that the military was important for the merger, why were they there again 😭? i think we spent less than 4 chapters with them, they were so useless to the plot. someone’s gonna say ‘oh they were needed for their cursed energy,’ to which I say, I swear Gege is intelligent enough to come up with an alternate way to start the merger instead of introducing these irrelevant as characters. I think I missed something, so someone please explain to me what their purpose was 😭.

chapter 150 jjk
⚠️ SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE MANGA⚠️
and ik I’m incredibly late to this 😭
so I just started reading the jjk manga in excitement for the last episode of the shibuya arc and maki’s power upgrade during the perfect preparation arc is… perfect. though maki awakened, I think the moment is nothing if not bittersweet. in order to get to this point, mai sacrifices herself and maki loses her way, her purpose, her motive. all maki wanted to do was grow stronger so she could make a place for mai and herself in the clan.
Tumblr media
she’s broken. the person she centred all her goals around is gone, because of her. to help her become the best she can be. maki is equivalent to a ship with no destination, but her promise with mai gives her an idea of where she wants to go. what she needs to do.
Tumblr media
the bond between maki and mai is somehow fleshed out so well in these few chapters. no matter who or what stands in maki’s way, she’s ready to bulldoze them down to keep her promise. she becomes an unstoppable force, akin to the toji zen’in. she becomes a monster. she’ll be as ruthless as she needs to be. she’ll kill again and again and again because mai didn’t only take cursed energy with her, she took maki’s restraint, compassion and ultimately, her heart

loving yamada at level 999
So I’m currently watching this anime called “loving Yamada at level 999” and I can’t help but feel a little.. weirded out by certain writing decisions? for example, in episode 8 at the Tosei festival, Yamada describes Akane as a “prize out of reach”. I understand that Yamada is a huge gamer and might view the world like a game , but it felt odd to describe a human being as an object, especially because Akane is meant to be his love interest.
The other side to this, however, is that Yamada is slowly realising his feelings and is accepting her as a romantic interest through his own lens first. he’s not fully reached the point where he knows what he feels for Akane, but he’s seeing her in a different light. slowly, she appears to him as not just some random girl who needed company after a break up, but someone who he wants to give company to, wants to tease and show a different side of himself to.
I’m kind of in limbo with these two ideas. sometimes I lean towards one and sometimes I lean towards the other. all in all, if you’re recovering from another show (jjk fans unite), this is a solid anime to get your mind off of it.

hi there, this is my first tumblr post. I’m not sure if I’ll be very consistent with anything as this is kind of just an outlet at the moment. let’s see if I can get a little creative on here, yeah? I might write some stuff, but I don’t really know yet. looking forward to my tumblr journey — wherever it happens to take me!
