Jefferson watched as Emma took upon a look that almost turned into one that wanted to punch him in the face. He was a fool to think Emma would be on a friendly terms with him but he had to try. It was the best bet if they were going to confront Cora.

"Could had fooled me back then. I thought you didn't see my scar." Not to mentioned that Emma was being held by gunpoint. A normal person would see the gun before they would look at anything else. Paying attention to little details seemed like another power that Emma possessed, along with the ability to detect lies.

Jefferson chuckled as he remembered when Emma tried to create a lie instead of trying to debunk the tale. Looking for a lost dog at the late hours was pretty ridiculous, not to mention that 'Spot' was actually Mary Margret. 

He raised an eyebrow when she asked about that hat. "My power is jumping worlds, Emma. I use that hat as a catalyst. If I had my hat back, I could use the hat to make anyone go into another world." That's how he got to Wonderland, Transylvania, and the Enchanted Forest. The reason why he told Emma about other worlds if because he had been there, because of his hat. Jefferson was a bit disappointed about Emma not wanting to help with the hat making but didn't push the issue too much.

Even though she had just woke up, and past few days weren’t exactly the most relaxing ones in her entire life, Emma’s mind was as capable as usual - the rethorical hint of the question was well-spotted, it was Emma to refer more into the fact of how evil Cora was. She truly had met many people in her life that could be put into the category of “evil”, however it was the first time she had met someone like the Queen of Hearts, and it wasn’t a good meaning.

Even though she made somewhat a deal with Jefferson, she could not help the little glaze of hers to be a little too suspicious for her own good. It probably wasn’t a good choice for striking up a friendship, but originally it wasn’t why Emma was here with him. In fact, she didn’t really choose this situation to happen, but since it already did, there was nothing wrong with the fact she would use it for her, and others’ own good.

It was, however, obvious that Jefferson was supposed to do much more, than a pretty little chit-chat to get her look at him less judging, and consider him as someone trustworthy enough. For now, he had to take what he good, and probably be happy she didn’t punch him the moment his face showed up in front of her face.

Because let’s face it, Emma was like that - impulsive and fiesty. She has taken some of this from her family, for sure, making quick and reckless decisions. Yet, her trust issues were something that she had gained over years, putting up the walls around her higher, than the highest tower in Enchanted Forest. And it was hard to get to her even if her credit wasn’t blown away, like it was with Hatter.

All Emma could do at the moment, was not to make more unnecessary enemies. She needed peace, not silly wars, and people wanting her had on spike. That was why she agreed to the deal with Hook, that was also why she was here now with Jefferson, instead of punching him in the face and leaving, she was having a decent conversation. “Yeah, it’s good you and your daughter are together now. That’s what matters. That you came back, and are there for her.”

Emma shook her head, shrugging her shoulders off, like seeing the scar after beheading was a normal, everyday thing. It wasn’t; however, after the visit in Enchanted Forest, she managed to get over the impossible things - they never are that. Besides, she had already seen it once, before he fell down of the window. “Yeah, well, it’s fine. I have seen it before on you… You know, that interesting night of our first meeting,” she replied, rubbing her finger delicately.

The moment he started the next part of his sentence she knew what was it about. Because there was always a catch, as Emma already knew. And hearing what he wanted was no big surprise either. “I hope you are aware of the fact I have no idea how to help you,” she said, narrowing her eyes slightly at him. “But tell me one thing before I decide what to do about you,” she said, having the same, serious expression all over her face. “Why. Why do you need the hat?”
